It’s off to the chopper with The Arnold. The new boss on Celebrity Apprentice announced today that he will not return for any potential future seasons of the show.
“I loved every second of working with NBC and Mark Burnett,” Schwarzenegger said in a statement today. “Everyone from the celebrities, to the crew, to the marketing department was a straight 10, and I would absolutely work with all of them again on a show that doesn’t have this baggage.”
Gee, whatever could he mean? It appears that Trump’s executive producer credit was inadvertently left on the show. Some say that was simply an oversight, but when Schwarzenegger found out about it he was not happy. Then, Trump found it necessary to bring up the shows ratings at a prayer meeting.
Oh, and also on Twitter while running the country as the leader of the free world. Because, priorities.
Speaking of ratings, the newly vamped show did okay in the ratings with a 1.3 in the beloved 18-49 viewership and just under five million over all. NBC has not yet made a renewal decision on Celebrity Apprentice but this might just be the final straw for the show.
I know that when I covered the show, there were always a handful of idiots who claimed they were not watching because they believed that watching the show somehow helped Trump. In actuality, Trump was rooting for the show to fail without him.
In my opinion, the show was not as good without Trump and Ivanka. It’s probably time to put the show out to pasture. I only watched for the housewives anyway.
Should NBC renew Celebrity Apprentice? If so, who should be the new boss?
