It’s Official! Erika Jayne Is On #DWTS! Who Is Her Partner?

March 1, 2017 by tamaratattles 22 Comments

ABC/Craig Sjodin

ABC announced the twelve couples dancing on Season 24 of DWTS on Good Morning America this morning.  I may be overly optimistic, but I think Erika has a shot a winning!

Erika Jayne was paired with Gleb Savchenko a Russian dancer who had danced on a few international versions of the show. He was on Season 23 with Jana Kramer and they came in fourth. On his first season, he was paired with Lisa Vanderpump on Season 16 and they were the second team voted off, but came in 1oth out of 12 because someone dropped out. Gleb is 33 and 6’1″.  He’s not Max or Val, but he will do nicely.  He’s already on Twitter asking for help with a team name and hashtaging XXpensive.

What I see as competition for our girl boils down to three other female contestants.

Heather Morris & Maksim Chmerkovskiy

Heather is 30 and was on Glee. She has also been a backup dancer for Beyoncé.  Combine that with Max’s huge fan base and they are a threat. Someone may need to Nancy Kerrigan this one.

Simone Biles & Sasha Farber

Olympic gold medalist, Simone at  19 is not going to run out of energy for this competition. Also, she has something to prove to fellow teammate Laurie Hernandez who won last season. Her fans will more than make up for Sasha’s moderate fan base. Simone has a MASSIVE fan base.

Normani Kordei & Valentin Chmerkovskiy

Speaking of Laurie Hernandez, she won last season with  Val. His partner this season is Fifth Harmony member Normani. She’s 20  and quite familiar with picking up new choreography. Howver, Fifth Harmony is beginning their Asian tour. It’s all going down at the same time. Is Val really going to fly with her on tour to rehearse? I don’t see how this will work out at all, so she may not be a problem.

I don’t see Nancy Kerrigan & Artem Chigvintsev or Charo & Keo Motsepe being a threat at all.

As for the men, Nick Viall  is paired with Peta Murgatroyd. Petra is the Max of the women. She’s the one that has a chance of a male winner. I don’t think has the skills or the fan base to win.

Chris Kattan & Witney Carson don’t impress me either. Witney is good. She’s won before but comedians are not generally good dancers.

Bonner Bolton & Sharna Burgess?  I mean bull riders are hot. We shall see.

David Ross & Lindsay Arnold? David is a retired football play who is 39. I predict an injury real or imaginary.

Mr. T & Kym Herjavec? I think it is safe to say Kym won’t get engaged to her partner this year.

Rashad Jennings & Emma Slater? These two are a bit of a wild card.

So who do you think will win? Who is the biggest competition for Erika Jayne?

The Athletes usually do the best. Simone and Kerrigan should both do really well. Mr T or Kris Kattan will probably the first to go. No clue on Erika but she should hold her own. We will see.

I think Kerrigan is past her prime. She does have a bit of elegance about her though… so I’ll keep my eye on her.

Jennifer Grey was pretty old when she won the mirror ball trophy.

Hey! Sequoia! Wanna make yourself useful and do a recap of the season? You don’t have to cover every little thing. Mainly just Erika and whatever random crappy dance/great dance/serious injury that happens.

I mean, have I told you how hot you are lately? I have conflicts and if I have to do it my caps will be REALLY late. Like Dance Moms late.

I don’t think it’s fair that a professional dancer like Heather Morris would get to compete in this show. Her, Normani and Simone are probably competition for Erika but again, Erika has this lovely charm and elegance about her, she should make it far.

Erika dances in her performances and is used to working with choreographers….that also seems kind of unfair to me.

I would like it better if she were paired with Max. I agree that Heather is the one to watch. Simone is kind of short, right? That’s usually an impediment.

She is 4’9. How will that work? My daughter says that there was a little person last season and Laurie is 5’0

Yes and so is her partner. He had the Little Woman of wherever for his last partner.

Ahh, the email I got from E news had Erika and Nancy with the same partner. I was wondering why. Looks like just a mistake.

I have no idea cause Ericka and Nancy are the only people I’m familiar with but I know I’ll be pulling for Ericka.

I think Erika will go far but judging by her dancing on RHoBH she has no chance of winning over some of the more professional dancers. And Gleb is so deliciously handsome! I recall the judges always being harsh on him tho in seasons past.

Love EJ, but I think Simone Biles will easily take this. She has the fan base and athleticism.

David Ross is a just-retired baseball player, not football. And he was a catcher, squatting all those innings. I can’t imagine his knees are in good shape. He was on the World Series winning Chicago Cubs last year,so he’s already a winner! I think he won’t be on long, but I hope I’m wrong.

Grandpa Rossy will be fun for Cubs fans to root for. I may even vote for the first time ever. He’s got a great personality so maybe he’ll stay for a few rounds but I can for sure see him being overshadowed by the likes of Charo and Mr. T.

I’m willing to call it right now… Heather and Max are going to win… I was a HUGE fan of GLEE and she was the dancer on that show. She can basically move her body any way she wants.. she can find the rhythm (sp) in a freaking car alarm. I will definitely be watching this season!

Never cared for Nancy, too robotic, maybe she has gotten better with age. I hope EJ goes far. May the best dancer win !

    Okay, Tamara, I’m here.
As I said on Twitter, I think that Simone will take the ball thingy. Athletes tend to do very well in this competition. They are used to the rigorous training schedule, they learn routines easily and they are used to being coached.
I know Nancy is a trained athelete, but I think her main downfall will be that she is not a very warm and fuzzy person…more ice princess than ice cream. In her heyday, she was very mechanical. She was very good, but to me there was never any passion to her performances.
Simone is not only a kick ass gold medal winner, but she is also humble and has an outgoing personality and always truly looked like she was having a blast during her routines.
As for Erika, I think she will do okay, but in the end, I am not sure if she can pull the fan numbers that Simone can. Other than Mr. T, Chris Kagan, Erika, Simone and Nancy, I don’t have a freaking clue who the others are.

Having a big fan base is huge in this competition! Simone is very popular with her spunky positive attitude. Nancy Kerrigan had a reputation for being “icy” when she skated . Too bad they didn’t sign Tonya Harding for the season . That would be good for ratings!

Peta won season 22 with Nyle DiMarco. If that’s not coaxing the best out of your partner, I don’t know what is.
