WWHL With Kristen Doute And Wendi McLendon-Covey

February 21, 2017 by tamaratattles 38 Comments

I haven’t seen Vanderpump Rules yet, but there is a great recap from last night here.  After all the montages, I feel like I’ve watched the show!

Wendi is so funny.

Next week, Kristen and Sandoval have another argument because Sandoval is apparently trying to trash talk Kristen to Carter. A caller asks Kristen how she felt about Sandoval telling Kristen she was a cheater considering he was cheating as well. Kristen says, “I feel great about it! It was fun!” Um no she doesn’t. The caller basically answered her own question. The questions on this show are so bad sometimes.

A caller asks Wendi if she thinks that Rinna remembers her conversations with Eden.  Again, DUH! Wendi says absolutely she remembers.

Bases on her answer to a caller, it sounds like LVP is still shunning Kristen.  Someone asks if Tom and Ariana got married does she think she would be invited.  She said I guess it depends on the day of the week because that is kind of how they are. We really didn’t get a lot of questions for Kristen in tonight. I think it was because of the length of Andy’s Jackhole of the day segment.

“Tonight’s Jackhole goes to the upsetting news that over 100 gravestones were vandalized in a historic cemetery in my hometown of St. Louis. This just happened over the last day, and this is extremely personal for me, because my great-grandparents and many other of my relatives are buried there in that cemetery. And, I don’t have to have a personal connection, though, to know that this is not who we are as Americans and this certainly should not be where we’re heading. We are not even two months into 2017 and there have already been 69 reported bomb threats to JCCs in 27 states. A synagogue was defaced, swastikas have been drawn on the subway here in New York City, and now this. This does not feel like a coincidence. We cannot allow acts of hate against anyone to become normal. We have got to do better as a country. I’ll step off my soapbox now, but I had to get that off my chest.”

I really hate what is going on in the world. Why on earth are Jews, and Muslims being attacked? I sort of comprehend the flawed thinking about Muslims and terrorism. But what started this new wave of Antisemitism ?

Maybe it is just the gloomy weather, but I am growing weary of all the hate. I’ve been waking up to another day of hate-filled drama for three months now. It is tiresome. So much wasted energy. What has the world come to?

Unfortunately, Trump getting elected and putting a white supremacist in the White House has empowered the White Supremacists. They were crowing with delight when Trump called that reporter a liar and told him to sit down and shut up when he asked about the increase in threats. The right wing were celebrating. ” Trump really put that jew in his place” and so forth. The white Supremacists are a big part of Trump’s base. Trump’s soft denial of the Holocaust and his humiliation of a jewish reporter are just Trump playing to his base. That empowers his base to do things like call in bomb threats, topple headstones, and paint swastikas

Yes. That’s why he’s appointed his Jewish son in-law as one of his top advisers. That’s why it’s well known his best friend is Jewish. That’s why he loves his grandchildren, who are Jewish. That’s why he loves and respects his own daughter, who converted to Judaism. You can blame Trump for a lot of things, but being anti-Semitic isn’t one of them. The reporter asked to sit down was not done because he’s Jewish. Whether right, or wrong, that reporter and Trump have sparred through out the campaign and now his presidency. I’m all for calling politicians out, and there are many reasons to call out Trump for appointing Bannon, but everyone should stay focused on what is fact instead of muddying the water with fiction. I respectfully disagree with spreading mis-truths that serve no purpose other than to make us look like idiots. As we’ve seen repeatedly since Trump’s election, the left as well as the right, can share blame for divisiveness and the increase in hate.

In my opinion, it would serve all of us well to share the love in our hearts, do a good deed, help someone in need and reach out to our political opposites for a constructive dialogue. I’m personally tired of the finger pointing on both sides.

Kiyoshigirl – I’m not saying this with snark, because I can understand your viewpoint. But I am at the point that the fact that one of his friends is Jewish and his beloved daughter and grandchildren are Jewish makes his behavior (and lack of action) even more horrible. He should know better. Any person who is truly empathetic to their Jewish loved ones and who has the moral courage to stand up to Anti-Semitism would not have hesitated to turn down David Duke’s endorsement, would have been a true leader in speaking out about the recent rash of threats against Jewish Community Centers and synagogues before anyone else. As for his grandchildren, he should look them in the face, realize they are the descendants of Holocaust survivors and apologize for even suggesting or hinting at rounding up Muslims or banning legal immigrants or properly vetted people from entering this country simply because they are muslim. We must never forget the St. Louis, or other people turned away from our borders only to be murdered by the 3rd Reich.

I don’t watch Vanderpump’s Rules but I do like Wendi. I agree about the gloom. I have stopped watching a lot of news plus some other shows I used to watch. So damn sick of being hit on the head with all the negative stories . Whether you voted for Trump or hate him, I still love my country and will root for it all damn day long. God bless the USA.

I really have no clue about the rise in anti-Semitism but it’s been rising in Europe a great deal over the last few years. Very unfortunate.

The naming of Steve Bannon as assistant to the President in this administration is probably why anti-antisemitism is on the rise. Bannon was a founding member of Breitbart News an online far-right news, opinion & commentary website that has pushes racist, sexist, xenophobic and anti-Semitic material. The ADL (Anti-Defamation League) said under his stewardship, Breitbart has emerged as the leading source for the extreme views of a vocal minority who peddle bigotry and promote hate.

Anti-Semitism has been on the rise for quite some time – as well as anti-Christian sentiments. Long before anyone had any idea Trump would be president.

There has been a steady rise in hate crimes since 2015 and it directly correlates with the Donald Trump campaign and election. #Facts

The number of violent anti-Semitic assaults taking place in the U.S. rose dramatically last year according to ADL’s latest Audit of Anti-Semitic Incidents. In my neck of the woods, Northern IL, there have been 12 incidents since 2015 and 2 just last week. I saw the terror on the faces of those kids fleeing the day center near Chicago. Today the cemetery in St Louis was vandalized, headstones toppled and destroyed. This is unprecedented.

It has been on the rise for several years. I am in my early 50s and the only two episodes of anti-Semitism that ever impacted me personally, happened within the past few years BEFORE Trump was even on the political radar.

I won’t dive into the political arena here because truthfully, I believe stuff like this has been bubbling for a long sad time. I don’t think you can blame anyone but the people who are doing it. They made their own sick, sad choices. However, TT, I agree 100% with you. I am sick to my stomach over all of this stuff. It is heartbreaking and sad. This is not the America I thought it was. I have been so overly sensitive in this regard as of late. But it seems like everyone has no matter what side of politics you are on, this can’t be what anyone wants? Something ominous is in the air……and I for one am terrified and deeply saddened.

“Something ominous is in the air” I have been feeling this for the past couple of years, it continues to grow and it’s very unsettling. For the first time in my life I don’t easily trust. My doors are locked and my curtains are drawn and it just doesn’t feel like it’s enough. I too am terrified and deeply saddened.

The bullying is relentless. I tried to cordially talk to some of the bullies parents to try and reach some resolution but they were tone deaf and basically said oh kids will be kids. They don’t think they need to talk to their kids. Really??? That’s how youre raising your child?? Oh well

Part if the reason, not all of the reasons for your harassment is, —
It is your right to wear your head/hair covering and I apologize for forgetting the proper name for it. Jews and Christian women all had to wear head coverings at one time.
Certain stricter Jewish branches still wear a head/hair covering, I think a wig will do.

Most people no longer consider covering our hair having anything to do with God or modesty but more to do with our religion holding women back, marking us.

I know you do not see it that way and I will defend your right to wear whatever you want. You have the right to do as you please but you will be treated differently by some when you do. Not right, just a fact.

By wearing it, you declare your religion everywhere you go, you look at me and you don’t know my religion. Catholic, Jewish, Buddha etc.?
Most of us would rather not know what religion you are or what our neighbors is.
      Hope this helps.

Wow, Megan. You are kind. She just told you it’s your fault you or your children are treated poorly or bullied if you are declaring your religion by following it’s beliefs and wearing a hijab. Yes, you should conform and hide your beliefs Megan. Clearly that is what’s wrong and the best advise. (Sarcasm clearly)
I’m sorry you and your innocent children are experiencing this. Maybe you can approach administration about doing a cultural day to learn about different cultures? Some schools around here have days like that. Themed by culture to learn about other students. I think it’s wonderful. It sounds like these children need to be educated about tolerance and differnt cultures value and what better place than a school.

SERIOUSLY, DID YOU JUST TELL HER TO GO INTO A CLOSET??

I now want to grab a scarf and learn how to make it into a hijab. I’ve been fairly agnostic all my life, but statements like this make me want to “register” as a Muslim. If they come for the Jews again – I’ll register as a Jew too…

Actually… thank you for providing more incentive to get off my ass and be active. Watched 13th (feature documentary Oscar nominee on Netflix) this weekend, and just watched the nominated Documentary shorts. All powerful stuff, and I know I can do better. I already donate to Together Rising… might have to up my monthly donation. Gotta go – need to start knitting my Pussyhat too.

Well I like everybody (except for people who pick on people I care about) I believe that everyone should wear what they want, and love who they want, but be nicer to each other people FFS! If you don’t like someone beliefs Shut your face! They are entitled to believe in what they want and who are you to try to change their mind?. I even liked Donald Trump when he did The Celebrity Apprentice….not so much now, he scares me a bit and I’m Canadian. His daily rants are funny though… Seriously he needs to go back to doing The Celebrity Apprentice “Your fired” does sound much better then “Go to the chopper” Someone needs to fire him!

In the meantime I am someone who has sunk into somewhat of a depression because this world is too scary for me now. I also live behind closed curtains and always lock my door. My happy place—> I’m glad I was a teenager in the seventies It was a blast and what I can remember of that decade makes me smile as does TT and Lady C’s recaps! I want to end this little rant on a happy note

At least you have the seriously HOT Trudeau!! (That man is pure eye candy… the fact that he also is comfortable in his own skin and goes to Pride Parades is panty dropping worthy.)

I kid I kid… the world is scary because it is overwhelming at times. I’ve been overwhelmed a bit the past couple of weeks – not because of personal issues, but because of unusual number of tragedies my friends are going through. I hope you find the courage to step outside, in front of those curtains, and maybe take a walk in the sunshine (or even some rain if it isn’t too bad – stomp in some puddles, then take a hot bath!) Get some Vitamin D. I find comfort in some positive local things – I’m a big believer in the “buy local” or support local movements. I hope you find something locally that floats your boat. A local comedy club? An independently owned , small movie theater? Sometimes those local theater groups need usher volunteers – nobody better than theater people.

In a mind of “self care” I personally am limiting my news sources to ones that don’t indulge in hyperbole and verify their sources, and blocking my feed from seeing the biased/skewed/never heard of them sites.
