Wait, whut? Cyndi Lauper has a new album and it’s country? That is going to take me a minute to comprehend, but I’d give it a shot.
These two may be my favorite guest pairing on WWHL ever.
Rod Stewart talks about how Janis Joplin tried to hit of him back in the day and he was terrified of her. She had a strong masculine energy that intimidated him.
At one point Rod Stewart was going to participate in a project where famous male singers would make a cast of the dicks for some sort of display. He backed out of the project after seeming Jimmy Hendrick’s cast. Apparently, it was quite large and he was intimidated. Intimidation seems to be running theme in Rod’s little stories. I find that quite surprising.
Cyndi’s favorite memory of Prince was at a concert where she got dragged up on stage and to sing with him.
Elton John gave Rod Stewart a Rembrandt as a gift in the mid seventies. Rod said he bought him a mini fridge that year.
Rod is having an absolute ball on the show. He loved the games, the shotski, all of it. He says he was fine with his son dating Adrienne Maloof even though she was a bit older than he was. They had some good times for a while. He didn’t seem particularly over enthusiastic about it though.
Andy asks Cyndi who was the most fun to work with on We Are The World. She talks about problems with the paint from her hair making weird dandruff on her black jacket. The Michael Jackson came in wearing the same jacket so she took hers off. Then both Cyndi and Rod get sidetracked talking about all the great ones that are no longer with us. Then Rod starts joking that he is not feeling very well himself. He’s literally been frolicking all over the stage all night. Then things get morbid again.
Rod is asked about his relationship with Joanna Lumley from Ab Fab. He talks about how posh she was and he really liked her but he was intimated by her. But the shagging was good. That is literally the third example that Rod has given about being intimidate in a half hour show. This shocks me.
The Mazel went out to Mary Tyler Moore who sadly passed away yesterday. So sad.
Most of social media is focusing on this comment that Cyndi Lauper made regarding Madonna’s speech at the women’s march recently. I thought Cyndi gave a really good answer. Check out the clip above.
