The beautiful and kind Lady Cocotte will be covering Vanderpump Rules for us tonight. Following Pump Rules, Bravo is premiering a new reality show called Timber Creek Lodge. Since the success of Below Deck, Bravo has been trying to gain some footing with another hospitality industry based series. The last land based attempt was a show called Apres Ski. I kind of liked that series but it didn’t seem to hold much appeal for you guys. My favorite attempt which was an incredibly expensive and visually stunning series, Tour Group. It was the best show Bravo ever made. Sadly, I was the only one who watched it and they dropped it before airing all the shows. Bravo viewers are simply not that into international travel it seems.
I expect Timber Creek Lodge to be a do over of Apres Ski with hopefully some more interesting employees. I really hate how they think what makes these shows interesting is contrived guests who make ridiculous demands. I do expect to see a lot of that.
Here is the official Bravo description:
Pack your bags because this December we’re heading to Timber Creek Lodge, where the beautiful people flock to party alongside the just-as-beautiful employees of the ultra-luxurious ski retreat of the same name. “Who wants to sit at a desk?” is basically the motto of the team, which serves high-end clientele and promises to create memories.
“Our clients are expecting first-class service. These are people who are used to it. Our expectation out of the team is to bring that,” Joey Gibbons, CEO of Gibbons Life, says about the getaway spot. And his staff will do anything to make sure their guests get the full-fun experience.
I am still doing some recuperating and this cold rainy weather along with my medications makes me just want to sleep and sleep and sleep. So I am not sure if I will recap the show live at 10 p.m. or if I will tackle it tomorrow.
OOPS I got distracted doing some troubleshooting. I thought I already posted this.
How do you keep swooping in and saving my life over and over again with news like this? You are the Patron Saint of the Internet, Tamara. I don’t speak Catholic, but I do believe either some Hail Mary’s or some Bloody Mary’s are appropriate here. I vote we go for the latter.
I think the problem with apres ski (which I tried to love!!) was lack of interesting personalities
I hope timber creek lodge is different … but already I find myself annoyed with the wannabe villain ‘bad boy’ taking his scripted shower in the guest house.
Also: I never spent much mental energy on the differences between Americans and Canadians – but they do strike me as foreign on these shows!! Of course it could be BC specific personality traits I’m picking up on (versus generally ‘canadian’) Just me?!
Really liked Tour Group, liked Apres Ski. I think just looking at the scenery is great, as well as being a first season, that leaves the opportunity for a naive cast. Going to hope for the best.
