Don’t worry. Be happy!

Hey y’all. I’m going to be away from my keyboard for a bit. I should be back on track by Wednesday. I have some personal issues to deal with.  Nothing serious, I just need to focus on something other than the site for a day or two.

In the meantime, The Lady Cocotte will be running the site for me. She will be recapping Vanderpump Rules and probably Below Deck as well.   The site is also having some technical issues that I do not have the time to focus on at the moment. try using the links in the banner below the header to navigate to your shows and navigation is not properly set up at the moment.

Please do not email me if your comments go to moderation, I will not be dealing with that at all. Should Lady C decide to moderate them, she will.  But we will all survive if a few comments are delayed a day or two.

Please try to behave yourself by staying on topic and avoiding politics and other controversial topics in my absence.  You are free to use this post as an open forum. Please do not discuss TV shows or movies here as others, including myself, may not have seen the show. No spoilers of any kind. Try not to be terribly depressing. 🙂

Also it would be great if you could do a search on your favorite topic and read some of the archives.

Should anything go terribly awry, you can contact The Lady Cocotte on Twitter. She is on the West Coast, so recaps will be put up after the West Coast show airs at some point.  I am dropping a lot in her lap, so please be kind and patient.

See you all soon.

Wishing you all the best, and hope your issues are resolved completely and as quickly as possible. If I can help Lady C. in any way, feel free to pass along my email and phone number.

And, TT, call me if you wish. You know I am ALWAYS available. (Unless, of course, I am charging my phone or tablet.)

My week is looking up. The issue with the car was the battery. Roadside assistance came out to jump start it. Not sure if I need a new battery, or if it was the fact that I hadn’t driven or started the car in 3 weeks. Plus the hard freeze we had one night. Or all of the above.

But, it’s fine now. I am no longer stranded. The good part about all of this is I now have a back up plan in place in case the car has a major breakdown. Keeping my fingers crossed that I never have to use that back up. (Although I will probably use the grocery delivery if it snows. After getting caught in a blizzard a few years ago, I am terrified of driving in snow.)

Looks like I am still making lemonade from those lemons that Life keeps throwing at me. In a few days, I will order that powdered catnip to help me through the anxiety. And a big bottle of wine. And chocolate. 🙂

Christmas is coming up. I have already budgeted for a feast: Ham with brown sugar and pineapple, sweet potatoes, veggies, and some kind of dessert. Haven’t decided on dessert yet. I might try to make a “dump cake” (cherry pie filling, chocolate cake mix, and lots of butter. Served warm with chocolate chips on top.)

Haha….I guess I HAVE decided on dessert.

Sounds delicious Cat. I used the grocery delivery when going through chemo. It was nice to have on bad days.

        November 28, 2016 at 6:19 pm

Yeah, I can’t wait to try it. Delivery charge was only about $5 for an order around $90. Of course, I would tip, too.

But I’m one of those weird people. I enjoy grocery shopping.

Hi Cat! I am curious about the grocery delivery you use. Do you mind sharing what grocer delivers to you and how does it work? Since I stopped driving a few years ago the grocery shopping has become one of my husband’s chores and he despises it. Unfortunately we live in a very small town and only have a Food Lion. No Publix or Whole Foods☹️ If we have to change to a different store it would not hurt our feelings. Thanks for any info you want to share!

            November 28, 2016 at 7:40 pm

This is Hy-Vee in Kansas City? It’s pretty neat. Find a store in your location. Then either pick what you want, or create a list.and order from that. Pick a delivery date and pay online.

They have personal shoppers pick the items for you. If the item is by weight, like meat or produce, the cost, of course will be by the actual weight. Then they box and bag your order, and keep it at a safe temperature until delivery.

On the list I made, delivery was around $6 for an order that was about $90. Reasonable, to me. Of course, I would tip them, too. Still worth it in my book.

What you might want to do is search “grocery delivery” in your town.

Hi there – I work in the grocery business. There are no Hy-vee stores in Food Lion markets. Sorry!

If you have a Kroger, they are implementing a program called Clicklist. You do your order online & then pick-up your groceries the next day at a drive-through at the store.

I hope you can find a service that works for you!

Is anyone else having a problem viewing this site? I’m on an IPad. When the change first happened, I could see the articles with a purple background, and the main picture was behind the article.

Now everything (the print) is in front of the picture, so I’m seeing black text on top of the picture, and I can’t read anything. Is it just because I’m on an IPad? I can take a screenshot to show how it looks…

Hoping this doesn’t fall under terribly depressing, just looking for some unbiased opinions..
A few years ago one of my very closest childhood friends passed away on Christmas eve. I still feel guilty around this time of year and especially holidays are difficult. I took my daughter on a staycation about a mile up the street from his grave, and the urge to visit and talk is bothering me. She’s four, so the concept is still beyond her. She’s visited grandparents that she thinks “live in the ground.”
So basically- inappropriate to bring her? He never got to meet her and (selfishly) I think it might ease some of the regret I live with if I felt I finally got to share her.

    • Cheryl B. says

      November 29, 2016 at 2:14 pm

I don’t go to grave sites. Been to my father’s once 25 years ago.

Anything I need to discuss is too depressing but I will just ask one Q-has anyone refused the services of the home health care aides that hospice sends? IMO they are useless, don’t do the job without much negative commentary, and my mother (the patient) is put out, tired and still dirty after they leave. So disappointing when you really need help, and the help that comes SUCKS.
