Jim and Megan King Edmonds Bring Home Their Baby Girl

Meghan King Edmond’s Instagram page continues to be an adorable stream of baby (and puppy) photos. Who does like cute babies and puppies?  She opted for natural childbirth. Um why?  It seems to me, that a “knock me out and wake me up when the kid is potty trained” approach would be the wisest option. But hey, it’s your kid. Knock yourself out. Or um, don’t.

Meghan says the baby looks just like Jimmy. I don’t see it. I’ve never understood all of the talk about who the baby looks like. They all look like babies. Maybe it is my facial recognition issues? Whoever she looks like, she is cute as a button.

Here is Meghan’s official announcement:

Our perfect Aspen King Edmonds made her grand entrance on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2016, 6lbs 11oz. From the hours leading up to the birth I had the most incredible husband, he didn’t leave my side. I could not have labored naturally without him and my doula. Jimmy was a constant source of support through every contraction, each blood-curdling scream and each time I told him I thought I was dying and couldn’t do it anymore. He ran baths, helped me walk, helped me breathe, held my hands, essentially endured the burden of my pain for all 22 hours. I am so proud and impressed of the team we made to welcome Aspen, our bond is more unshakable than I ever imagined. We have a healthy, strong happy baby who loves breastfeeding and already holding her head up! I feel like I worked out for a week straight and my throat hurts from yelling but I survived unscathed without so much as a tiny tear and now I feel like the strongest warrior on the planet (and Jimmy thinks so too) her birthdate 11/24/16 added up equals her daddy’s baseball number 15 🙂 1+1+2+4+1+6=15 #secondsold #needlefree #naturalbirth #22hoursoflabor #aspenkingedmonds #thanksgivingbaby #inlove #cantstopstaring #birthplanwentasplanned #fullheadofblackhair #warriorbaby ——————– We are deliriously in love with our  with our perfect Aspen ??

I can’t believe she didn’t tear at all, though I guess the baby wasn’t that big. Babies in my family are usually nine or ten pounders.

Now that I am at the end of this cute happy post about babies and puppies, I realize that the comments will be full of people oversharing the details of their labor. I probably will not even look. It’s about the babies and puppies!

Cute baby but I really had when people go overboard on the hashtag. The only one she missed was “#blessed” !

    Congrats and God Bless !

I didn’t opt for natural but God had other plans for me. Labors were short both times only lasting less than 7 hrs both times and were healthy sizes at 8.6 lbs and 10.6 lbs. respectively. No time for drugs.

10.6 lbs.? Ouch!!! 8.6 lbs. is hard enough to push out, especially naturally. I have only admiration for you. My daughter has very short labors – 6 hours for the first child, 2 hours (no that’s not a typo) for the second one, and 4 hours for the third, with all three babies being just a little over or under 7 lbs. Watching her give birth without medication was one of the hardest things I’ve ever seen and her babies were all smaller than yours – you guys who do that are awesome – true heroines in my book. Back on topic, congratulations to Meghan and Jim. The baby is just gorgeous.

I’m happy for both of them. Really glad Jim was so supportive during her labor. It helps the relationship alot to have someone on your side. 22 hours?! I would have been asking for something.

I think it’s wonderful having their baby on Thanksgiving. Aspen is a good name. She was so excited about everything (or was she depressed?), whatever, glad she has her baby. 🙂

Very cute baby, I always want to smell them, is that weird? But there’s nothing quite like the aroma of a Baby!

Unfortunately, I can in fact, see “jimmy” in the chubby little face.

I never will understand the need some women have to post way too many details about the birthing process—-and Megan posted her story pretty darn quick. Maybe I’m jealous, because I’d still be sleeping, or asking for drugs.

What a sweet story and sweet baby photo. Hearing her feel so happy at her birthing process is amazing. 22 hours is a lot to endure. I do Hope one day women can stop making one birthing story a “warrior” story over another. Yes she went natural vaginal delveiry for almost a day, but any woman who labors and has a baby in any fashion be it c-section or medicated, vaginal is also a warrior.
But I am very happy to hear her birthing process went how she wanted. Mine was the direct opposite and so I love hearing when women have the experience they want. All women should get that after carrying life, they all deserve that so it’s good to hear.

She’s a pretty baby and the name is pretty in a outdoorsy kinda way. When I see sweet, angel babies it makes me so glad that my two kids can wipe their own butts.

I saw really mean things online pertaining to Megan, Jim and Aspen. I don’t understand what people are so angry about that they can’t be nice about such a wonderful thing. Sometimes it seems like people are only happy for the good things that happen to Lisa Vanderpump and are angry about anything else.

I haven’t had children yet, but I did watch that Ricki Lake documentary on the hospital/insurance industry surrounding childbirth. If possible I would like to do natural births as well. I’m interested in hearing more about it, so I hope Megan and others share!

Oh you’ll hear plenty more about it, she’ll traffic in it for a long time to come. Many women give birth without pain meds, some cannot, she thinks it makes her superior somehow

I had a natural birth planned, too. Via hypnobirthing and a doula. However, fate had other plans and we ended up with an emergency c-section. Once I did the research on how the drugs from the epidural can negatively affect the baby, as well as put a woman’s body in a position that is not conducive to a healthy birth, it was a clear choice.
    Congrats to the Edmonds.

Hell no, not without an epidural! Although due to her fear of needles, I kinda get it. But still. Not me.
