Vanderpump Rules: Going Down

Jax is well-known for sabotaging his relationships, but spreading rumors about his girlfriend is a new low for him. Jax is a lying liar who lies straight from his lie whole all the damn time. Why do people even hang out with him? Is there no other source of coke in LA?

Lisa is going to do a World Dog Day event to raise money to save all the dogs in the world. Or something. I like that LVP is passionate about rescuing dogs, but I think her insistence that another country should change their culture to match her belief system is ludicrous. Dog meat is still eaten in dozens of countries around the globe. I would not eat it but it is not my place to meddle in the dietary habits of other cultures. That was be quite arrogant of me.

Kentucky is so upset that Jax is spreading nasty rumors about her and Kristen.

The two Toms go on a spa date where it becomes evident that Schwartz has not idea how much his wedding costs. Meanwhile Katie rattles off the prices of everything to Stassi. Since we know that Bravo is paying for the wedding, these scenes are ridiculous. So is Tom not wanting a wedding cake.

Lala really had a hard season of filming. Even though she doesn’t make it through the whole season. Her mother meets up with her for a glass of wine and some motherly advice. Lala is a pretty crier.

pump-rules-tom-tom
Kristen is finally in a good relationship. Carter seems like a great guy. Everyone is talking about the rumor that Jax started about Kristen going down on Kentucky. Even our favorite characters the Mexican kitchen guys.  Kristen says she was so drunk that she doesn’t remember what happened but she knows that she didn’t go down on Kentucky. Jax is being really rude to Kentucky and has no compassion for her at all. LVP was really kind to Kentucky.

Kentucky spends the night with Scheana and Mike so she won’t have to be around Jax. The next morning, Jax and Kentucky have a huge fight.

James and Lala hang out and talk about their music careers. It’s nice that these two can be friends. James spends the whole episode apologizing to people for saying mean things to the kids as the cool kids table last week.  Lala was mocking them as well, where is her apology tour?  I really don’t blame these too for trash talking the others, they are very mean to both of them.  They are just giving it back to them.

It’s finally World Dog Day. So it’s time for LVP, Ken, and Chad the manager at PUMP talking about James. Chad says that he was outside smoking a cigarette and got into some sort of altercations with some guy who put James in a headlock.  In every version of the story, it sounds like James was attacked, possibly due to his slick mouth. But LVP is already upset with James about the situation and threatening to fire him. James said that the guy was just jealous of him.

Kyle Richards shows up and the event looks like it was a lot of fun for the people and all the dogs. Joyce Giraud  shows up to support the cause!

After the dog event, the cool kids stop over at Kristen and Carter’s house for an after party of sorts. Kristen tries to get through to Jax that he needs to stop fucking over the people who care about him the most. Jax continues to claim he is telling the truth.

Wow, that was a really short recap. There wasn’t a whole lot to comment on.

There is much more to Lisa’s charity. The Stop Yulin Forever organization is not about a cultures dietary preferences. 10,000 or more dogs and some cats also are tortured before death to make the meat more tender. Many are stolen house pets. The festival occurs in June and all because these fools think eating them brings good luck. It is heartbreaking and horrific. Please Tamara leave this post for anyone looking for more info. I admire Lisa and Ken for trying to change this outdated practice. They are focusing on the younger Chinese to implement change. It’s a difficult subject and the YouTube videos are seared into your brain. Lisa really is deeply involved in this as well as Ken.

Jax should just break up with Kentucky if he wants out so badly. We all know he’s an aging man-whore, he should just accept it and move on with his pathetic life without trying to drag others down with him.

At The first Vanderpup Gala held in LA about 2 weeks ago not only were funds raised for Stop Yulin Forever but also a no kill shelter in LA. There was a silent auction and Kyle was there as well as Chaz Dean who funded a rescue van and veterinary care. You can see hilights of the gala on Chaz ‘s Periscope. Lisa and Ken gave so much. Leona Lewis sings a Diane Warren penned song available on iTunes to help these innocent animals. After heavy subject matter there is some fun dancing to Who Let The Dogs Out, Houndog etc.

Apparently a lot of them use “enhancement drugs” > allegedly. Jax just does the worst job of hiding it > (S4E16 really bad job of hiding it) I do believe the Kristen/Brittany thing is an attempt at another story line for this season & nothing more. The only thing they have going on this season is the Katie/Tom wedding(so happy for them), so the others need something to keep them relevant. To be honest any story line that includes Kristen (my favorite) is what keeps me watching, and the hope that Karma knocks really loud on Scheana’s door.

Side-note: What LVP does for doggies everywhere is #Phenomenal! Love her & her generosity & kindness for all of the animals on earth

Good job. The best way to learn what your opinions are is to debate them with others. Sometimes you will change your mind. Sometimes you will change someone else’s thoughts on the subject. Sometimes you and the person you are talking to will agree to disagree. Other times you might both walk away thinking the other person is a moron. Any of these outcomes are good ones. Because you develop and understanding of what you believe.

I don’t have any problem at all with eating animals. I do have a serious problem with torturing them before they are eaten.

This includes American cows, chickens, and pigs, which have it much worse for much longer.

Although I do agree with trying to raise awareness and compassion in China, I am a greater believer in starting at home first.

As to Kristin, she needs an intervention. She spends a lot of time claiming to “not remember” her actions. That is a problem.

Agree! The way we treat animals before slaughtering them is so inhumane. Why should a dog get more consideration than a cow or pig? If we treated dogs the same way here people would be outraged. I understand many people see them as pets and that is why. I just wish that the humanity we want extended to a dog or cat would be extended in the US to all animals.

Everything kills to eat, but the manner in which the prey is treated before eaten should matter to everyone who eats well and regularly.

Jax is such an awful boyfriend. I do not see what women see in his he-man ignorant attitude.

I loved Tom and Katie talking about the prenup and wedding costs. My daughter is marrying in May, so I can feel this part. Boy, do costs add up quickly. I had such a simple, backyard wedding, but she lives in LA now, and things are pretty expensive there.

Not all farms are like this. I actually go out in the pasture and pet and spend time with my cows. I try and make sure they are comfortable and happy during their time with me. The same thing goes for the chickens. All are put down in the most human way possible after having the best life I know how to give them. Don’t lump us all together.

Cobe and RealE, I agree. Along the lines of animal torture, though, I believe we are making big progress here. In MA, we just passed question 3 which makes the sale of food from animals raised in cruel conditions. This means no cages too small for hens to spread their wings, or veal held in tiny cages, or pigs from unfairly confined pregnant mothers.
Although we are a liberal state, I believe it’s a beginning in the right direction.
The thought of someone eating my dog makes me physically ill. So working to change that on all fronts, with all animals, is commendable.

I totally agree with treating all animals kindly. I’ve been a vegetarian since 1995. My fur babies are my children. I understand it’s not for everyone. Just wanted to point out some good work by Lisa and Ken and all involved. Can you imagine your pet being taken and sold under those conditions? It’s so unbearable. I disagree. Jax is just being the same “old” Jax. He continues to repeat the same exaggerative and lying behavior that he has exhibited since the start of the show. Remember that it was Jax that had Brittany move to LA; while at the same time whining to anyone who would listen (and in his talking head) that it was all her doing. Repeat that same behavior pattern with Brittany moving in with him, and her working at SUR (I.e. his begging Lisa to hire her last season). Don’t be fooled. More than likely Jax does enjoy and wants to be in a relationship with Brittany. Jax is just full of shit and likes attention. Viewers should be able to recognize this already. I’m sure his cast mates definitely do and more than likely just zone out whenever Jax starts whining (for attention) about his made up, non-existent problems.

Lisa is not the only person that is trying to protect dogs. Many dogs are stolen from people to be eaten, having once been companion animals. It is barbaric!! There are some practices that just are not right, like killing Whales or cutting off a sharks fin, then throwing them back into the water to drown. I saw an episode of Whale Wars when it was on, saw the Japanese chase down a whale that was swimming for it’s life and clearly terrified, they harpooned that magnificent animal, hauled it up on the ship and diced it up in 30 mins. It was awful. There are some practices that just need to stop!

“Many dogs are stolen from people to be eaten, having once been companion animals. ” This sounds like hysteria. If you really want to eat a dog you can just go to the shelter and get one before they kill it.

There is not a huge dog meat market. There are countries from Switzerland to Vietnam where dog is served in some smaller areas. In the Arctic and Antarctic regions natives rely on whatever meat they can get.

With the current global situation, we need all the help we can get avoiding nuclear war and preparing ourselves and our neighborhoods for all manor of possible situations we have not been accustomed to. We need to try to find compassion for our human brethren before there are none of us left to be companions to our dogs.

Eating dogs is wrong . I don’t care if it their culture or not . Many horrific things are part of other people’s cultures and we do not tolerate those either. Dogs are companion animals . Eating a companion animal is wrong. Period. They are highly intelligent , loyal and compassionate and killing them for food is a vile and disgusting custom – one that should be abolished along with other henious customs in the world. I don’t care if people like Lisa or not the work she is doing to try to help animals is good work. She very well may like and care about animals more than most humans but that does not negate the good work she is doing .

Other cultures think circumcising young girls is acceptable, that women should not be allowed to drive, that men are allowed to beat a disobedient wife, that a female that reaches the age of menstration is old enough to be married, that male children are more valuable than females – just because it has been culturally accepted does not mean it should continue to be

It’s unusual for you to be so uninformed before making a blanket statement TT – The Yulin Dog Festival does indeed involve the kidnapping of pets – cats as well, in order to to meet the grandiose needs of the festival as indeed the usual market in China for dog meat is small.

Also the concept of Animal Rights is relatively new in China, (understandable considering the breadth of human rights violations) and there are few shelters and do you honestly think they would cooperate with Yulin? The protest against Yulin started within China and reached out to the West for assistance in preventing the Festival.

The objection is also about the inhumane way the animals are treated in order to “tenderise” the meat. Yes, we shouldn’t tell other cultures how how to live, but we should also be more informed about issues we choose to discuss. (Now I’m off to the WLS!)

There is really no reason to debate you since you seem to rely on LVP as the authority on Yulin.

It is of course much easier to criticize other cultures, other political views, other genders, other races and so forth than make constructive changes in one’s own society. You just sit over there and worry about dogs in Yulin or perhaps you could branch out to Romania or Vietnam or many other places where things happen with dogs that may upset you. Then maybe you could branch out to bull fighting, or go old school and “Save the Whales.”

Meanwhile the rest of us will be left to try and save the country we currently reside in.

Please don’t compare my broad education to the more narrow one delivered throughout your nation – not only am I Post graduate here in Australia but also in the UK and Sweden. I am also well travelled throughout Europe, Asia and even your own country, however my nation doesn’t consider parochial to be either desirable of appropriate.

LVP is NOT my source of info – I work with Chinese students who have never heard of LVP, let alone Real Housewives, as watching reality TV would be considered practically sin a a home of people who have worked hard to immigrate to another country where they are free to express themselves in many different ways and see education a s a key to freedom. Sure I enjoy a bit of bubble in my relaxing hours but LVP’s fluffy fund raisers are not my source of information.

I also work in animal rescue here in Sydney and actively work and agitate to improve animal rights here in my own country, as well as fostering and rehoming mainly stray cats but we work a across platforms – Foxes, dogs, Kangaroos, Koala’s birds etc. There is currently legislation on the table to ban Greyhound racing due to its cruelty in NSW.

I just don’t agree that “good fences make good neighbours” – then again my country isn’t the mess yours is in and I wonder why that is? (Now I am in the WLS)

Dr. Rufus, I’d pat you on the back but you have too many hands back there already!

Please let’s not let a few Chinese children or a small region in China define a culture. Demonizing 1 billion people for the acts of a greedy, superstitious few? And, really? “My country is better than yours?” No bueno. No gracias.

Shay, I didn’t demonise a nation from a conversation with my students, I just became aware of an issue that disturbs those who are concerned about voiceless animals and furthered ny research. But good attempt to twist my words – and yet I did imply Australia might have somethings better sorted than the US, we are far from perfect and not better, however we are not as insular in our views on the world.

However I did lose my temper with both you and TT as you derided my knowledge and genuine work with animal welfare. Not all of us obtain our education from Bravo or show support by supporting our favourite Bravo stars – some of us get off the couch and get our hands dirty.

I’d ask LVP to recommend a cocktail not provide information on animal abuse. Also, I’ just don’t get my information about politics, or human right or animal rights issues from a Bravo Reality Show.

Governor Rufus: Maybe it’s the language barrier, but you literally said, “Animal rights is new in China…” something something, “Not surprising with their human rights violations….” and you don’t understand how you are painting a billion people with a very broad brush?

You weren’t the only one and my comment was to everyone who was referring to a NEW, barbaric, unappetizing regional practice in Yulin as part of Chinese “culture.”

Why did you pull out your CV so hard that you doxed yourself?! Jeezus, all that to hammer a point unrelated to the main topic of the post?

Shay, in my reply to TT I said I lost my shit – tired, easily baited with a short fuse & little clarity with my posts. And I didn’t get your joke.

I don’t agree animal activism is confined to ones local area – others disagree, & while poorly expressed I’m not entirely ignorant on the subject & now my equilibrium has returned don’t need this forum to validate it – the last hope if the truly lost to find find validation on line.

Me a culpa to those I’ve offended – bamaste to this on the opposing fences. Off for a gin & Episode 2 Season 2 of Lucifer. Shade away

I replied to TT’s email with this,

            Fair enough Tamara,

It’s just I’ve been educated – and have been educating others for the past 25 years – that while we of course have responsibilities to our local and national communities we also, and increasingly so in a globalised world, that we have global responsibilities, be it for our fellow man, the natural world or our voiceless any maps.

We basically have different perspectives, neither wrong just different and au was wrong to be rude.

I think I was mainly pissed as being dismissed as blind Vanderpump follower!! Reality TV is my mental popcorn or to inspire me to visit new places, not my soul source of information . And I do really work hard in animal rescue & for people to. Time to give back as I have received so much, but kitten season is among us now & it seems to highlight the worst in humankind.

Apologies for the snap & thank you for taking the time to reply.

Opps Sorry Rufus, sent my comment below via email rather than comment. Old habits die hard.

Well, I do admire your impressive moat, remote location and strict immigration laws. Alas, we will have to solve our problems with a wall, enforcement of our own lax immigration laws, and some grass level movements to unite our multicultural population. This reinforces my opinion that one should focus on their own communities and cultures before becoming a dog catcher in another one. It’s not so much the good fences you see, as it is taking care of your own yard before your begin discussing the weeds in others.

For some reason I felt compelled to take a gander at what’s going on here. I almost wish I hadn’t.

How dare you, Rufus. I don’t get offended easily, but somehow you did it. Un-nail yourself from that fucking cross. And stop wandering around, with your nose in the air, wearing that shroud and screaming “Noli me tangere!!!” Scourge marks and stigmata are so passé.

So much of this just rubbed me the wrong way. I cannot stand when someone basically says “You’re open minded and intelligent as long as you agree with me, and do precisely as I say.” People can miss me with that shit.

I’m the worst offender, Minx; I can’t be a hypocrite to boot.

Its interesting that people think the WLS is for contrary opinions. Its not. If for those who can’t play nicely with others, don’t follow the commenting rules, and people who talk to TT like she’s not already running a successful site.

Sometimes our perception isn’t reality. TT’s reigned me in a couple times. Its ok to go off the rails. Just come back. And be funnier.

I’m slightly late to the conversation, and perhaps this “narrowly educated” American is wrong – but I would think that an Aussie would be careful about comparisons of country. First of all, our current election situation is a much bigger GLOBAL phenomenon, related to Brexit, etc. Careful because you could be a big part of it too.

Also, Australia is hardly a beacon of all that is perfect in human rights. Your track record of how the Aboriginals is deplorable (yes,my fellow Americans – I use that word purposely). Legall In terms of LGBTQIA rights, you are one of the last English speaking, 1st World countries to get marriage equality.

But dont’ mind me – I’ve had a “narrow” education. Although one does wonder why my university had a ton of foreign students, some from the countries you mentioned. Hmmmm.

Mmmm hmmm. Preach Erica! Those are all very good points. I never understood the overemphasis on the allegedly poor quality of an American education, especially at the University level. We have some of the best professors, both domestic and foreign people. And a bunch of foreign students.

Your education is what YOU make of it, no matter where you are on planet earth. Teachers are in large part overworked and underpaid. So much is expected of them for so little in return. They can only do so much. And there’s always a damn agenda by the school, like teaching for standardized tests. There are some incredible teachers like Tamara out there, but even they can’t work actual miracles.

I think at the university level this is even more important. Past a certain age, I believe no one can make you learn. And regurgitating facts and figures or names and dates or the professor’s lecture verbatim on a scantron or in a blue book isn’t necessarily proof that someone has made the most of their time in school.

It’s gospel that Jax always lies, 100% of the time, but there’s something about the way Brittany is denying it that seems half hearted. She’s not screaming at him that he’s lying, she’s asking why he’s spreading rumors. You best believe if my bf was bald faced lying about me I’d be saying exactly that. It’s not enough to make me believe him, though. He lies as he breathes. Poor Kentucky is finally going to get the shitty end of Jax that everyone else has, poor thing.

Lala and her mother have mentioned several times how badly she was bullied growing up, it’s not uncommon for the bullied to become bullies, but as an adult you should be able to recognize that and stop it. Doing to others the horrible things that were done to you is not ok, it’s actually terrible because you know how bad it is and you’re doing it anyway.
