On last night’s episode of Below Deck some of the crew lost their minds on their night off and got wasted on the boat. Which is odd because wasn’t there a rule about not drinking on the boat? Was the captain for Below Deck Mediterrean the one with that rule? Either way, I know Captain Lee’s first rule is, “don’t disrespect yourself, or the boat.” Apparently, that is easier said than done on Below Deck. Kyle was allowed to stay in the master bedroom, which may be short for masturbation room in this instance, for some quality alone time. Lauren and Nico were wasted and decided to screw up his opportunity for solitude by being drunken idiots falling all over the place. Or at least pretending to. I find it hard to believe that was actual alcohol in those bottles. But let’s pretend it was. Ben, who we saw drink a ton of wine with his brother and then strip before walking down the pier to the boat, arrived on the scene drunk. Lauren, Nico and Ben started tearing up the master bathroom! Who does that?
According to Captain Lee’s blog this week, he didn’t see any of this until this week and he is pissed. Let me get out my purple pen to just a small part of it.

Let’s go crewmember by crewmember in dealing with this debacle. And make no mistake that is being polite, because if we were not on charter seven with only two charters to go, I would have fired all of you including and starting with a senior staff member named Ben. But having two charters to go and given the virtual impossibility of getting four crew to replace you, it is with distaste that I may be forced to keep you all on board. Much to my dismay, I might add. The future guests should not be penalized for your indiscretion and general lack of class.
Ut oh.
Since when is walking down a 400 foot dock lined (with yachts on both sides) to the largest mega yacht in the marina with nothing on but a shirt and a smile your idea of class, culture, and breeding? If that is how the upper crust in England behaves, sorry, but I want no part of it. You violated both rules and compounded with your behavior last week; you sir, are an embarrassment to the yacht. Your continued behavior after you got back on board was no better. You are fortunate that I was not privy to what happened until now or there surely would have been serious consequences. As a senior staff member of the crew, you have a responsibility to behave in a certain fashion and set an example for the rest of the crew, which I have made clear to you on several occasions. You most certainly are not paying attention. As to whether you can redeem yourself, I would have to say at this stage of the game I doubt it. I am severely disappointed in your behavior as someone who claims to be a gentleman.
Rumor has it, Ben is kind of a jackass in real life. I think Ben probably got a few passes from Captain Lee when he was closer to Kate. It looks like those days are over. When Captain Lee calls you “an embarrassment to the yacht” you’re toast.
Lauren, I have no words to describe your total disrespect for the yacht you work on and your coworkers as well. Kyle, albeit not clearly enough, tried to tell you and Nico that he wanted to enjoy his night in the Master. Your behavior as well would have gotten you a plane ticket home had I known about it.
I have never understood why Captain Lee was so hard on Lauren. Then we had this episode and I was shocked by Lauren’s drunken behavior. This was worse the The Great Pizza Incident of 2016.

Nico, wow, you were the one in the beginning of the episode wondering why you couldn’t just have a functioning deck crew. Well, need I say more? While your boss did the correct thing in going to bed and counting on his crew to behave appropriately, you just couldn’t resist getting “twisted” as you so eloquently put it. Well done, Nico, way to show the world that you can do a professional job. You as well would have gotten a plane ticket along with the rest of your cohorts. Integrity is doing the right thing when no one else is watching. You failed in that.
Well, I mean there were cameramen watching. There is an upcoming scene that we saw on the trailer where Nico thinks he is gong to be promoted to Bosun. I think he is delusional..
Kyle, I’m not sure what you were thinking when Kelley asked you to get this thing settled between you and Sierra, but I’m sure it wasn’t what happened. You owed it to the boat and yourself to put it behind you and move on. But you just couldn’t bring yourself to do that, could you?
I don’ understand why Sierra is getting a free pass on this. She’s useless as a stew, and seems to pick at Kyle just as much as he pokes her.
Let’s look at the overall view here and see what’s what? You come onto a new boat with no charter experience whatsoever, and from what I can see, a ton of baggage. You have a baby mama and a girlfriend at home, and then you fall head over heels for a stew on board that is not exactly going gaga over you. You try to get in close with her, and when that fails, you get an attitude. On top of that, you don’t disclose all of this to her before proclaiming that you want to bed her. Do I have this right? That’s just so wrong on so many levels, I wouldn’t know where to start. All I want out of you is to do your job properly, which I might add you seem to be having difficulty with. I don’t care about your personal life or preferences, unless they interfere with my boat. Then I have issues.
Yeah, Kyle has a ton of issues. At first he said there was someone back home he seems “off and on” when he was trying to get with Sierra. Then the next thing we see is a montage of him with his girlfriend that he tells us is the first person in his life that makes him feel like he fits into the world. Before hitting on Sierra she was just someone who he sees occasionally. After Sierra shot him down in the rudest manner possible, the girl back home was his only reason for living. What’s up with that?
To your credit you did try to get the rest of the crew out of your master evening, but in my opinion not seriously enough. And then you just caved and went along with it. And really, does anyone really care about you wanking off? Please keep that to yourself in the future. Plane ticket? Oh yeah.
It’s really amazing that we are probably going to get through this season with only one crew member getting a plane ticket home. I’m shocked that Sierra made it as long as she did just based on lack of …a brain. I’m even more shocked that it seems like Ben is going to settle down with Emily. I do think they may a cute couple.
I can’t wait to see Captain Lee restrict them all to their quarters next week. Especially because Ben’s brother is still on the island. Watch for the two fingers to his face pose. That’s his tell for when he’s really pissed. 🙂
Fantastic, boom, loved it! Truly my favorite parts of the shows are Captain Lee’s expressions when forced to sit with guests.
Good for Capt. Lee. This makes him look bad too. Never cared for Lauren and I think she breaks bed next week. Read Kate went to court but no details given. Feel for Kelly on this one.
Wow. I haven’t watched yet because I’m still brooding over the election, but this post makes me eager to see the mayhem unfold. Too bad Ben was so disrespectful; I enjoy his wacky laugh and was looking forward to another season to watch he and Em bond. Oh well, looks like Lee is over it, and who can blame him?
The season previews were so misleading (shocker!) because I really have been waiting for Capt Lee to demote Kelley and promote Nico. It seems pretty clear from the tone of this blog that the Captain must have eventually come to respect Kelley.
I gotta agree that I am well over Ben, too.
At first, he was nothing to me.
A bit later, he seemed intriguing.
I started to respect him and his culinary skills.
I wanted to stand up for him when some people were challenging him.
Then dynamics changed.
Instead of seeming cool and laid back, he appeared more sloppy.
I could go on and on but ya got my drift.
? Buh bye, Ben.
Well, I’m not ashamed to admit to experiencing a small thrill when Captain Lee decides to open a can of maritime whoop-ass.
Yeah, I was really surprised that Ben went so far. But it was a lot of fun watching he and his brother interact. Funny that his brother runs an international corporation and Ben is chef to international guests.
Sierra is a surprise. For someone who is a self-professed laid-back hippie, she seems to really get uptight.
And something Kyle just isn’t right. He’s full of too many contradictions.
I guess there’s something in the water, because Nico and Lauren seem to be intent on making waves for the entire boat, pun intended.
It was crazy how much Ben and his brother sound alike. I think it’s great if he and Emily are still seeing each other but in the end she is so young. I see her opting for someone closer to her age with a more traditional life in the next few years.
Two words I don’t ever want to see Cap’n Lee type or speak is .. babymama & twisted..
Haha….I had to check if that was dark purple pen or black pen… Capt. Lee is the best!!!!
Yes, I get that Captain Lee is horrified by his crew’s “shenanigans “. I remember how some charter guests were absolutely vilified and humiliated behind their backs in past seasons….no wonder Bravo is having a hard time booking the charter. HOWEVER, if all we saw was a strictly professional staff 24/7 tending to the needs of their guests then not socializing with each other, no one would watch.
I think something has happened between Ben and Capn Lee that has nothing to do with yachting? Just too weird that they have a Twitter beef over last weeks’ blog and WWHL appearance. IMO the loud fight between Ben and Kate that could be heard by the charter guests was more of a breach of rules than his naked butt (quite a nice one tyvm) on the dock. Ben was on his own time and just having fun w his brother. I do like Capn Lee a lot but wonder if there is more dirt to the spat they are having now?
Even on your own time, getting naked wasted and destroying your employer’s property is frowned upon.
And if I had to choose a naked butt on Below Deck, Ben would be at the bottom of my list. 😉
Ben may have been on his own time, but he was representing the yacht. Also, Capt. Lee was blogging the week. If it was an overview of the season, you’re spot on.
Good blog by both TT and the Captain. He is correct, of course. I’m trying to remember what Sierra did but I don’t recall.
I LOVE KYLE!! it’s not his fault. He wanted to have a nice quiet evening of porn alone. The rest took over his room. He is just so great. So open, honest and true. Those people are hard to come by these days. He’s a true gem. Love him!!
I am so grossed out by the thought of crew sitting in the guest rooms and having at it. I mean you know it happens you know when you stay at a hotel it has happened there by 1000’s of people. I just don’t really want a full blown visual by a yacht crew member that they do it. It makes it way to real.
No kidding. But I have heard horror stories about restaurants to when they don’t like the guests. I mean in this case I know they clean and change the sheets etc. Kyle made it sound like standard procedure that they use that room for fun/private time. LOL
I finally got to watch this last night. OMW, I am seeing a whole new side (no pun intended lol) of Ben. Not sure Emily needs to get caught up in all that. That deck crew is a little cray cray. How could they think what they were doing wasn’t going to get them all in trouble and Ben certainly knew he would get in trouble. Makes me very suspicious as too any authenticity here.
I do love me some Captain Lee though. Oh when men ruled the seas LOL
i wouldn’t blame Captain Lee if he lowers the boom hard. Ben lost his mind and his breeches..just gross. Lauren is weird, Kyle is strange and Nico is a freako alright. These are adults and not overgrown children. I love this show but ….
I’m not a huge Kyle fan. I also hate how Bravo thinks they need to jump on the Trans bandwagon on every series. Seems like pandering.
Sorry, but I really dislike Captain Lee, and don’t get the “Captain Sexy” title at all! Is this from the Geriatric crowd? I hate his pessimistic, negative attitude. There is real leadership, and there is management by fear. He practices the latter. Very old school. And what’s with all the gaudy, Guido jewelry?
