Last Monday we got our first look at Kelly Dodd the newest housewife of the OC. I was not expecting to like her at all after our first video of her outside Nice Guy wasted and saying some pretty bad stuff to the TMZ paparazzi. I really thought that put her slot in danger. Silly me.
On Monday’s show, I decided she might be alright. She’s a high level of crazy and much different from the other ladies. I understand why Vicki took to her immediately since they are both Whoop It Up girls. It makes sense now that she would be in the ATV with Vicki and Tamra when it crashed.
It didn’t take long for me to sense the chemistry I have with each of the ladies. My brash mouth and sarcastic, sophomoric humor isn’t for everyone. Tamra, Vicki and Meghan laughed at my “Kellyisms”.
I see a power group of Vicki, Tamra, Heather and Kelly forming pretty quickly.
Shannon not so much. Actually, not at all. Oh well. Hopefully, she’ll lighten up.
Don’t hold your breath on that. Or ask her emasculated husband about her ability to “lighten up.” Your best bet is to stick Meghan on Shannon duty and whoop it up with Vicki.
I really related to Heather’s concern about Terry’s echo-cardio scare. We’ve had a similar experience with Michael. His family has a history of ARVC (Arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy), which is a genetic condition where the heart tissue hardens and becomes fibrous. Michael’s older brother, Peter, had a heart transplant a couple of years ago, so Michael goes through regular screenings, including echocardiograms and MRIs of his heart. Every time he goes through it we worry about the findings, just as Heather did.
Except you know when you are trying to pick people up at Nice Guy saying that you don’t care about your husband to the paparazzi. And damn you for mentioning an illness that will cause a billion comments about heart disease in gory, intimate detail. Isn’t it bad enough people are posting about their vaginas thanks to Bethenny Frankel?
When Vicki entered the party, the tension was palpable. It didn’t seem to upset Vicki too much though. She handled herself with grace and dignity. Vicki and I hit it off immediately. She is sweet, considerate and funny. This is going to be a great friendship.
Or at the very least a mutually beneficial alliance.
Season 11 is off to a great start. I’m looking forward to sharing our experiences with you. At times you may find yourself cheering, jeering, laughing, caring, but you definitely won’t be bored.
Probably, mostly jeering.
So do we like the new girl? or nah?
