UPDATE: Yolanda tweeted today (12/2) ” We’ve grown apart but my love & respect for @officialdfoster is still the same, he’s been very good 2 me so pls don’t judge our journey! “
Yolanda and David Foster are finally headed for divorce. I suspected this way back in February of 2014 and blogged about it here. People just ran their divorce announcement. Conveniently released hours before the premier of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
“Sadly we have decided to go our separate ways,” the couple tells PEOPLE in an exclusive statement. “We’ve shared 9 beautiful and joyous years together. During that time we experienced love, friendship and the inevitable challenges that come with managing a marriage, careers, blended families and health issues. We are grateful for the years we’ve spent together and believe wholeheartedly that we did our best.I hope that we can pave the road ahead of us with all we’ve learned and with the love and respect we will always have for one another.”
I never for a minute believed the whole story about why they were selling the Malibu compound that his STUDIO is on. Nobody leaves this refrigerator! Yolanda was shopping for houses on last season of RHOBH but she couldn’t buy anything until all the finances are disentangled.
Yolanda got the Malibu house from Mohammed as a divorce present. Then David built himself a studio there to be with her more often and avoid having to drive into L.A. When they married, the property was put into a family trust with all the other properties they own (and have been trying to sell for two years.) Basically, this is going to be a big knot of finances to untangle.
Ever since Yolanda came down with a health condition, she has been of little use to her “king” whose expectations of her were quite high. Worse yet, he started having to pay attention to her. I think he has been looking for the door since the middle of 2012. The more public she went with her illness, the more difficult his extraction became. I think now he’s probably just willing to take some lumps for divorcing a sick person. He seems to have done his share of hanging out with her in hospital beds.
I’ve been having some thoughts about Yolanda’s medical condition for quite a while. When she recently claimed two of her three children both have her same condition (which most doctor’s don’t acknowledge as a diagnosis) I’ve become even more concerned. But polite society doesn’t question the illnesses of others. This season we have RHOBH to do that for us. I think production set Lisa Rinna off on this path for a reason. Stay tuned.
