WWHL With Kyle Richards And Lisa Edelstein

WWHL With Kyle Richards

Do you guys watch Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce? I watched the first episode or two and was not impressed. Then today a marathon was on in the background and I found myself sort of getting pulled in. I may try to get caught up with that On Demand.  Anyway, the star of the show Lisa Edelstein is the other guest tonight. AND she is first chair! That’s gotta burn Kyle Richards. Kyle was on the premiere of GGTD tonight in a tiny guest spot so perhaps the ranking came from that show.  I’m hoping for a real update on Kim.

Lisa is the first person I have seen look good in those stupid link necklaces. She shortened it and it works way better.

RHOBH Lisa Kyle no shit talking

Andy says everyone is talking about the taglines on RHOBH. Um, yes. Yes we are. Because they are stupid. Andy then interrupts himself to ask what they think about the big news that Yolanda and David Foster are divorcing. Kyle says it’s very sad. Andy asked if it was a surprise to her. She says in some ways yes. (That was a lie, it was not a shock to anyone) Then she admits that they were struggling and Yo has been so sick … then she says she doesn’t know if Yo’s illness has anything to do with it or not. It’s just sad. What she wanted to say was, “No it wasn’t shocking at all. Will all of Yolanda’s colorful posters listing all of her weird medical treatments in the condo she is living in and considering they had been living separately for about a year now, it was rather obvious they were finished.”  But Kyle is usually the nice one.  Kyle ran into David at Kris Jenner’s Birthday party. At that time Yolanda was in NYC for the Victoria Secret fashion show. Kyle has reached out to Yolanda since hearing the news.

Andy moves on to his regularly scheduled Here’s What. Tonight’s topic? Yolanda’s appearance at Lisa’s birthday party.

Andy asks Kyle if she really paid 75K for those sunglasses. She said of course not Maurico would kill her it was a promotional agreement between Bravo and the seller line of sunglasses for her to consider for her store.

A caller asked if Kyle watched Kim on Dr. Phil and if she did what were her thoughts. Kyle sighs and says “what a fun question…”  I really feel sorry for her that so much of her life and interviews is taken up by things surrounding Kim’s addiction. OTOH, I really want to know all of these answers. Kyle said it was very difficult to watch. Andy asks how Kim is doing and how She and Kim are doing.  Kyle says Kim is doing really well right now, and their relationship is much better. Andy says he can’t believe Kim and Kyle watched the RHOBH uncensored show together because that was super emotional.  Kyle says she had no idea all of that was going to be on there, they just decided to all get together and watch.  I was really hoping that Kim didn’t watch that.  But wait, didn’t Kyle do talking heads for that show? Or no?

Wow. Lisa and Kyle got the THONGS? Is Andy mad at Kyle about something? Here Kyle, sit second chair, take these thong panties and shut up.

People on the internet are pissed that Ken Todd was so forceful in his description of Yolanda’s looks. He did come off as a bit of an ass. But I give Todd a few old people passes and a foreigner pass.

The poll questions was: Whose tagline is your favorite?  Pinky’s wins by a landslide. I like Eileen’s the best.

I don’t like GGTD that much but somehow got drawn in and watched the whole season. Sometimes it majorly annoyed me but I’d keep coming back. I’ll watch S2.

I started watching GGTD last season, and then toward the end I fell off. I’ve been binge watching “The Affair” in the meantime, but maybe once I’m caught up I’ll give Lisa E. and the gang another try….hmmmm…

I really thought that Ken was just commenting on how bad Yolanda looked because she was so sick. That’s the way I took it. I don’t think he meant to be disrespectful about Yolanda.

Also I think there is a bit of a disconnect between some of the American audience and the ‘British’ comments made by Pinky and Ken.

Being half British and Aussie, I’m used to hearing way more biting commentary than what Ken said, so I’m desensitized to it.

I honestly think he was simply shocked and felt badly for her. He even started to rationalize why David was gone (knowing full well if his Lisa were that sick, he wouldn’t leave her side… but I guess that is why he isn’t world famous). He was right… even accounting for no make up, she looked exhausted. Was Ken an asset to Yolanda that one time? Yes. Do I think he will always be defensive when it comes to Lisa, even when it is irrational? Yes. Do I think his heart was in the right place in this situation? YES.

^^ 100% agree. I think Ken was truly concerned about Yo and her health. Ken has a compassionate heart and I find it commendable that even after Yo attacked him and Lisa several years ago, he feels sympathy and concern for Yo.
I think this is going to be a tough season to watch. I really do not want to see Ken or Lisa being the target again.

I took it that way too what Ken said. You can see Yolanda is a natural beauty, and I liked that Lisa R. called it armour and said it was brave to show up without it. But Yolanda is really milking this condition I think I kinda worry for her mental state. She’s so invested in being the “sick” person, and wanting attention for it. When people do that, they are in a bad way emotionally and need help. I say this because Yolanda could have stayed home, or fixed up to look normal. Even terminal cancer patients will either stay home or fix up as best they can, if they decide to make an appearence. The fact that Yolanda is neither of those things or chose none of those options, makes me feel she feels a “reward” for being ill and there’s a perceived benefit to being sick for her. Thats not good and I see shes very depressed.

It really annoys me that people are saying Kyle has no storyline except Kim because in real life when you are dealing with that type of addiction and mental illness in addition to who the heck knows what, Kim pretty much HAS been hijacking Kyles life for years. Someone on here said this months ago but it was so true, addicts don’t have relationships they have hostages.

As enmeshed as their lives seem to be, it is a testament to Kyle that she’s raising / raised 4 girls with seemingly level heads (the only one I’ve seen mentioned on gossip blogs was the one that got bit by Kingsley. .. not exactly a story about hard partying)

Old and foreigner passes accepted for Ken. As for the “Girlfriends divorce” show, I say no, as it is scripted with tounge in cheek humor, LA stereotypes, and basic banality.

TT… I really disliked GGTD at first, then last year when I was down and out with the flu for 9 days I caught a marathon when I was too tired to change the channel. It definitely grew on me. I’m not so excited about the start of the second season that I bothered to watch the premiere tonight, but will definitely catch up when I’m doing laundry or wrapping gifts. It’s a solid show.

As for Kyle being in the second seat, I believe Andy stated in his book that in the second seat they try to place somebody that has some personality and can hold their own, especially when the other person would be lost sitting in the second seat. Also, while I didn’t hear the whole interview, Kyle got the honor of being the first housewife to be interviewed on Andy’s show Andy Cohen live on Sirius XM this morning. So she already has the proverbial feather in her cap. That is, if you are a housewife who cares about such petty s***. She also talked with Andy more in depth about all of the Beverly Hills housewives watching the uncensored show together. Definitely awkward.

All I can say is after the uncensored show, and reading the gossip here, I’m a fan of Kyle. She has to rise above a lot of baggage. It also sounds like her extended family is not ready to meet her there.

Hi! Is that the story Andy is spinning about seating? The WWHL seating and the HW reunion seating are very obvious. Andy is just denying it.

Yeah, he’s also given some story that the first seat goes to the person that hasn’t been there before. Lisa E has appeared on wwhl before.
Andy just finds her more interesting and “cooler” than Kyle. Lisa E was a New York studio 54 it girl and Andy always favors guests like that.

She’s also Jewish while as he said Kyle is only Jew-ish I honestly doubt any Jewish person has been seated in the second chair.

I would have to agree. Kyle seemed, to me, highly agitated a few times last night. I caught a coupe of eye rolls and she seemed a bit off base with anyone else getting attention. I felt like Andy felt more comfortable with Lisa E. Or at least seemed to really like her.

I think we are reading way too much into the seating. It is a two guest show most of the time – SOMEONE has to sit in the second seat. He’s put his good friends in the second seat – John Benjamin Hickey and Matthew Broderick come to mind, as well as Sandra Bernhard, who is about as Jewish as you can get.)

Yes… the Jew-ish comment was shady, but then she decorates full out for Christmas and has that damn Elf in her house.

I really enjoy GGTD. Yes, the characters are largely unlikeable. However, most of the Housewives are not exactly good people either.

    Team Kyle all the way.

I wouldn’t choose to have her as a friend as I find her annoying and shallow, but I have a great deal of sympathy for her situation. For many years, she kept Kim’s secrets and tried to help in whatever way possible. Even now, she has never gone after Kim with the facts, which would be easy to do. Instead, she has concentrated on her own life and giving her kids the best shot at a happy life possible. It seems like she has done an excellent job of it too.

I enjoy seeing women who are given a pile of shit turn it into something better.

Kyle may not be perfect, but the life she has given her children is far better than the life she could have given them had she made excuses for herself.

We all have hardships in our past (and yes, I am aware of the hardships in Kim’s past), but how we deal with them really defines who we are as a person.

Blaming others and making excuses is not something I have time for. Kyle put on her big girl pants, sought therapy, and made life work. Kim just decided not to do the work involved.

Sounds well put and completely rational to me. I’m often surprised how many people out in cyberspace blame Kyle for Kim’s unraveling. In their quest to hate the woman for any reason they can muster, she’s often blamed for everything from dragging Kim onto the show to throw her sobriety off to getting Kim kicked off the show so she can have the so-called spotlight on herself. In the interim I think it ends up completely making light of addiction, as if dealing with that issue would be some sort of lighthearted skip in the park for anyone. That said, I think Kyle did fairly well handling herself on WWHL last night, although that hiccup about everyone criticizing Yolanda’s appearance was an awkward moment. I’m not looking forward to the predicted future pile-up regarding Yo’s illness..

To me, Kyle is the one with a successful life that she can be proud of. Kim is the train wreck. The fact thar she was a bigger star back in the day, doesnt seem that relevent now. I guess I relate a bit more with Kyle, because Im the youngest in my family, and know how it feels to be over shadowed by older sisters as a kid, and to have the tables turned and do well, and to see it bug them. They want to hold on to their past superiority and are stingy with compliments, besides not being all that nice to me back then either. My husband has even said, they were on top back then, now youre on top and they dont like it. Oh sisters! I find my one older brother the most enjoyable. Anyway, Id like to see Kyle just be Kyle without the heavy load of Kim. And Kim just needs to be Kim without the resentment of Kyle picking up the pieces.

I watched GGTD last season. Loved the first half, but not so much the second half. I’ll probably end up watching it again because Mondays/Tuesdays just SUCK for tv right now. Not a fan of Kyle and just because her extended family is screwed up I don’t find it necessary to excuse how pretentious she strikes me. And that forehead. Get some bangs, or wear a bandana for dogs sake.

I like GGTD! No the show isn’t perfect and there are some unrealistic situations – not to mention the girl who plays “Phoebe” is a terrible actress. I also really hated that Jeneane Garafolo left the show, I’ve always loved her. Then they brought the short red headed lady to replace her (the one that was in Sister Act 2) and she’s just annoying as hell and supposed to be “latina” on the show but is not pulling it off in any way shape or form.

I mainly watch it for Lisa Edelstein. Love her!! (And her wardrobe is killer!)
