This Real Housewives franchise is adding two new housewives. The first new member is a close friend of the fambly of two or three former housewives on the show. She’s been on the show in that capacity previously, but never featured in any way. The other newcomer is a relationship expert that has been on several previous reality type shows. To me this makes her a very odd choice. However, the interesting part of this blind to me is that both new women, and three returning cast members are all using the same attorney at an LA law firm to negotiate their contracts. One returning member will not likely be a fulltime housewife and never has been. The other four are all negotiating fulltime housewives contracts. This information contradicts what you are hearing in a lot of other places. But believe me people are not going to be paid “by scene” (what does that even mean?) they are all paid by episode if they are housewives or in the case of the fifth person an FOH. The lawyer negotiates a per episode salary as part of the contract. Housewives will usually be on every episode. An FOH will usually not be on every episode and is paid at a lower rate per episode.
In other news, I haven’t heard how the love guru is fitting in, but everyone else seems to be very close and very happy. Of course, “the star” has not been around for quite some time. There is no telling how she will stir the pot once filming begins at the end of next month.
If I were any of these women, I would not want the same lawyer as the majority of the cast. It would seem that attorney would be obligated to some sort of collective bargaining with regard to pay rates. I’d want my own attorney who was better than the other ladies. Especially since the other two housewives have their own attorneys.
Also, there is a rumor about a lesbian couple being added. I can tell you that they are not being represented at the law office that the majority of the cast is. I do not believe either of them will be full time housewives. If we see them at all, I expect it to be in a limited capacity. I am basing this on the fact that I have heard NOTHING about them from any of my sources. My sources in this regard are not fantastic, so it’s possible they don’t know about the negotiation with lesbians. And unless the fifth person in the group of five negotiating together is a full time housewife, there are only six confirmed housewife. Either way, if the person I think is an FOH goes FT or if they bring in the lesbian housewife, the seventh spot would be a lesbian.
Or they could just stick with six since one of them is going to get the majority of the air time anyway.
