Black Friday Was Sort of A Dud

November 27, 2015 by tamaratattles 18 Comments

I am so disappointed in the lack of idiots being trampled in a Wal*Mart this black Friday.  The is such a shortage of good footage on You Tube that they are actually trying to use tramplings from years gone by rather than new footage. I had to resort to Mark Dice videos insulting the huddled masses pre-trampling.

As for the video above with the woman stealing a veggie steamer from a little girl. I have to call bullshit. Maybe I watch too much reality TV (okay I do watch too much reality TV) but this seems scripted to me. Since when do people even buy vegetable steamers?  The store seems empty and then a group of folks arrive fixated on vegetable steamers. Three ladies do a swan dive into the pile and just lay there?  Another lady walks up to a little girl and takes her steamer. They fake fight while the lady who snatched the kids veggie steamers screams “Stop being so aggressive! You’re scaring me! ” All the while those two continue to face the camera. It’s bullshit. It’s a sad time when we have to stage a Black Friday riot.

Also, when will people ever learn to take the video horizontally? It’s just a flick of the wrist!!!!

And finally, two hicks from Kentucky fist fighting in the mall is not a Black Friday event. That’s every Saturday night.

So disappointing.

Real or not that poor little girl, she didn’t seem to know what to do. What were they?! Free?! After it was over I laughed because it was so ludicrous. The woman took it from the child, then appeared to go after the MOM and she said she was scared?! I have to watch again

A Macy’s rep said sales today are lower than expected because it’s cold out, so people stayed home … sounds like BS to me … I’m sure there will be more opportunities for shoving, fist fights, and the like in the next few weeks

I just can’t understand why people have to act like animals. I live in Colorado Springs Colorado. Some deprived moron just killed one of our police officers (and possibly two civilians). What’s going on in society? Why are these incidents becoming common place. My heart is breaking and at the same time I’m angry.

More of the mentally ill have access to weapons.
      Was it a assault rifle?
Why semi-automatic assault rifles are sold to civilians baffles me.
No worries, we will all become
      semi-numb to the killings,
      just need a few more.

This is what the American media does perpetuates:
        White guy kills: “mentally ill”
        Black guy kills: “thug”
        Muslim guy kills: “terrorist”

The Colorado shooter should be called an American terrorist. If he’s Christian it’s fair to call him a Christian terrorist. Considering a shoot out ensued and a police officer was killed, I’m surprised the white guy was arrested alive. If he was black or Muslim he would be riddled with bullets and dropped off at the morgue.

The definition of terrorism is the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims.

Word urethra word. He is a terrorist. The point is to make women scared to go to planned parenthood. When I go for my yearly check up there is a security guard outside and a metal detector inside. They look through my purse as well. Trying to make people scared to do something because it’s against your beliefs is terrorism.

I haven’t watched the veggie steamer yet but it sounds ridiculous. As you’ve said, people don’t fight over steamers. They want the big ticket items like flat screen TV’s and the latest must have video gaming system.

You’re right. That video looks staged and why didn’t they turn the camera horizontally?!

This is one event I have never participated in…Black Friday. Sounds like it would be more appropriately named Black and Blue Friday. I can’t think of a thing I need that would make it worth camping out overnight to get it a few dollars cheaper. It’s all to get people to buy, Buy, BUY on Black Friday. Someone that used to be a friend of mine would plan it like a strategic military operation. She would be up at 3:00 a.m., meet her accomplices at the store that opened 1st, shop until the Starbucks opened for a caffeine fix, continue shopping only stopping to eat until her shopping list was completed. After approximately 16-18 hours of shopping including a trip home to drop off her morning haul to free up space for her afternoon, she would triumphantly end her day. You couldn’t pay me enough money to enjoy that experience. To each his/her own I guess.

Before the crazy came, I used to LOVE Black Friday. Sometimes I’d even do it with the dead sister because her crazy had not come yet either. We would get to the mall at the butt crack of dawn for door busters and shop for several hours and then go home for leftovers for lunch and I’d head back out. I would get great deals on clothes for myself and pick up something for my mother (who hated everything no matter what you bought her).

I also used to LOVE shopping on Christmas Eve right up until the stores closed.

Things are different now. I have the crazy. And The black Friday events are more dangerous than running with the bulls.

I miss the old me. And I don’t like the new old me. 🙁

Oversharing…or better yet, vulnerability, takes courage. And it allows for someone else to take a chance and be vulnerable, too. When you offer these occasional glimpses of yourself it never fails to resonate with so many of us. I’m not sure if I’m more crazy/ newly crazy/ always been just the same old crazy or what in the hell I am, but I seem to have lost touch with myself. Isolation, anxiety and a kind of “dark cloud” are the new normal. But I guess I’m not alone. It’s such a relief to know that, and to have a “place” to come and take myself less seriously. I agree with Dark Thoughts sentiments. Give the new old you a break. We’re all in this together.

    I agree, it looks staged.

I worked Black Friday ONCE at Walmart. If the crowd sees a pallet of boxes wrapped in plastic, they will go for it. Doesn’t matter what the product is.

We had to call the cops within the first 30 minutes, because of the fights in the store.

I not only avoid Black Friday, but the rest of the weekend, as well. And I avoid Walmart altogether, as a general rule.

Here, there were not too many reports on Black Friday, except for the tent dwellers. And the 21 year old who died when she hit a truck head on. It’s not only crazy out there, it’s icy as Hell.

We did, however, have 2 guys at the mall, who were robbing people at gunpoint in the parking lot, and taking shopper’s packages.

All that work….only to have it taken away while going to your car. Ridiculous.

I hate shopping. I hate crowds. I prefer to spend black friday at home in my jammies with my new book, the Fatcat, and my husband. I send checks and or cash for xmas to the son and the God children.
