Okay what fresh hell is this Bravo? Are we really going to have a show about Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season One? It appears we are. I’m in. But this had better be good.
Well, we begin straight off with Kim’s alcoholism. On the last day of filming, they were at a huge birthday party for Taylor and Kim was wasted. Apparently, someone from production let Kyle know. Because, it’s apparently Kyle’s job to keep him reasonably sober. Kim stormed off the set drunk and went out to the limo to drink. Kyle went after her and that is when the infamous limo scene went down. Kyle says she just lost it.
Andy didn’t want to do Beverly Hills because they were already doing Orange County. Andy thought they would be too much alike. It all started with Kyle. Kim’s audition tape is all about how Kyle doesn’t think she is good enough. Kim looks 20 years younger. So sad.
Lisa has a signed contract for Giggy. Apparently, this is a real deal. And such a clever way for her to be paid more than the other ladies. Or avoid taxes perhaps. I’m just saying. Lisa also wanted to go by “Pinky” on the show instead of Lisa. The producers told her that Pinky Vanderpump sounded like a bad porn star name and didn’t allow it.
Camille said that she didn’t think Kelsey would want her on the show. Kelsey called production and made sure that RHOBH hired Camille to keep her out of his affair.

They talk about filming in the Beverly Hills houses. It’s interesting they point out that they could not park on the street because it’s an unsightly obstacles and had to be escorted from the gate of the house to the house by security at Lisa’s house and at Adrienne’s. The houses were so big they could not find people in the house.
Kyle says that Camille was so upset by her question about why they were filming her in Hawaii without Kelsey was the moment that Camille was done with her. It really does seem like a big misunderstanding but Camille was in a very bad place so I can see why she would act that way.
Right after Kyle made the comment that offended Camille, they went to New York for the opening of Kelsey’s play. Kyle tried to make up with Camille early on to smooth the waters. Camille says looking back she can see how insecure she was, but she didn’t believe Kyle’s apology was genuine. The girls all agree to go out to dinner. Everyone goes to get ready leaving Taylor and Camille in a suite. The producers later find Camille and Taylor locked in a bathroom in the suite talking. Taylor was telling her that the other girls were trash talking her on the flight talking about her insecurities. And Taylor also informed her that Kyle was the one in charge of how everyone would be portrayed. Camille felt betrayed and was sure she was being set up to be the villain of the show.

When production came back in the room and Camille came out of the bathroom, she was pissed and yelling at production. This was just before they were to shoot a dinner scene. Camille accuses Lisa of trying to set her up. They were in a huge fight about something that happened off camera. This was problematic. Then we get the “you’re such a fucking liar Camille!” line from Kyle. And that is when Kim did not vouch for Kyle. Kyle realized Kim was drunk. She says Kim had a long bout of sobriety before that and she had been keeping this family secret. They leave without eating.
Lisa says that night changed everything for her. She was in tears when she left. I suppose because of Kim’s relapse.
The dinner party from hell with Faye Resnick and Allison Dubois was apparently quite boring. They were actually about to wrap filming when the drinks hit Allison Dubois and all the drama started. At this point Camille and Kyle were very much at odds. Camille brings Allison to back her up, and Kyle brought Faye Resnick to be on her team. Andy talks about how it was the perfect episode of the show just like Teresa flipping the table. He so loves the drama. He says Allison told him to fuck off when he tried to get her on WWHL. In the limo on the way home the looked at nude photos of Camille on the Internet, as one does.
While all of this was going on, Life & Style magazine came out with a print edition with Camille on the cover calling her a villain and with a huge headline that read AMERICA’S MOST HATED HOUSEWIFE! Kyle said even though they were not talking she felt very bad for Camille. That’s because Kyle, much like her sister is overly concerned with public perception. I do not understand why this would bother these women, but apparently it does.
The stuff about Camille and Kelsey was really said. Lisa Vanderpump called it a low point of the show. I think she meant productionwise. Kelsey didn’t even call Camille to tell her they were finished. He had an assistant call her. Then he forced her to go to The Tonys with him and pose as his happy wife. She didn’t want to go, but he said they had made the commitment to film it for RHOBH and maybe they might spend a romantic weekend together. Wow, this guy is a real douchebag. And so was the next LTR Camille had. And then she got cancer. She has been through so much. A producer talks about how hard it was to shoot and how he just wanted to hold her hand and be there for her but he couldn’t.
I never thought I’d say this but I kind of miss Adrienne and Paul bickering. The fighting was way worse off camera.
More about Kim drinking. At a party at Mohammed’s Kim hid alcohol in one of the bathrooms and was getting plastered. She fell down after shooting ended.
Back to the final party. Kim was late to film because she was in a private limo with her manager who was trying desperately to sober her up. As I continue to type about Kim’s drunken escapades, it suddenly occurs to me that she is watching this show. This has got to be a huge drinking trigger for her. If she really is sober now, I hope this doesn’t send her back to the bottle. I’m really pulling for her.
Back to this show. Kim has a huge drunken blowup in the lobby of the hotel where Taylor’s party was being filmed. Kim refused to talk to Kyle. They managed to get Kim to a limo. The production guy really tried to keep Kyle from going to the limo. The hotel throws them all out of the hotel. Production sent Martin and Adrienne to the limo to talk Kim down. Wow I had forgotten how really bad that limo scene was. Kyle lost her mind and Kim looked so shocked that Kyle was done covering for her. Kyle tells Kim that she told her she was not going to help her if she “could not stay …..ok” and she was cut off financially.
Looking at these clips from the reunion, and knowing all the very serious situations some of these women were going through, Andy seems rather gleeful as he reads off a list of negative terms to describe Kyle. It is the first time any of these women have been on a reunion, and it was BRUTAL. Camille tried to get out of going.
It ends with Andy gleefully declaring that season one of RHOBH was “lightning in a bottle.”
I can’t stand Andy Cohen, he would slit his own Mother’s throat for ratings.
I seriously think Andy is one sadistic fuck. Would love to see him get what’s coming to him one day!
Yeah , Andy loves being cruel. He is sadiatic with a big doepy smile on his face, kind of like the Captain Spaulding, the evil clown.
He is a dick.
To Andy, it’s all business, nothing else. Loved Kim’s comment on how Kyle took over her finances (like its a negative), when in fact Kyle was actually paying for Kim’s lifestyle. Funny how Kim said she “gets all nervous” when backing up Kyle with Camille, but otherwise Kim is hell on wheels. Kim is a real nasty, nasty piece of work.
So is camille. Can’t stand her
The Kim business is SO sad. I hope she is done with the the denial. She will be embarrassed by this, but maybe it will be a huge reality check for her to see how miserable she was. Kyle does seem aggressive with Kim, but I feel that that is how their sister relationship is with each other, and Kyle was done hiding it for the camera. If kim really wants to stay on this show she needs to put it all out there. I bet Kim has a huge problem letting Kathy and Kyle help her financially sense she was the one at a very young age who made the money. She should just stay away from the crazy and let her sis’ help her. Kathy looks a lot thinner. Maybe she is ready to get in front of the camera more.
I suspect her issues are more with Kyle. Kathy never really acted, just some modeling and then she married Rick Hilton at a young age. I think Kim and Kyle were brought up to be very competitive with one another. Obviously Kim was the more successful actress of the two, married Monty (a supermarket heir) when she was in her early twenties-she was destined to be the golden child-unfortunately we know how it all turned out.
I don’t think she’s able to deal with the fact that Kyle is married to a very successful self-made man that she really loves and seems to have healthy relationships with her children. I’m sure they have their problems, like everyone else but nothing approaching the level of Kim’s problems. I’m a recovering alcoholic and we have a really hard time letting go of resentments-they eat us alive. Kim has been walking around with a Huge chip on her shoulder re’ Kyle for years (hello, Palm Springs house?). I hope Kyle and Kathy have finally cut Kim off-it’s the only way she’ll get sober, she MUST hit rock bottom. I also wish she’d go into along-term sobriety house-turns out that putting the cork on the bottle is the easiest part of sobriety-changing every little thing in your life when you’re totoally clueless is the difficult part.
Sorry, I do ramble!
I don’t think Kim minds them supporting her now, I mean, she supported the whole family for a lot of years.
Kim is an alcoholic, but that doesn’t mean that Kyle isn’t an aggressive bitch. You don’t go on national TV and call out your sister. AND what if she is helping Kim out or helping her with all her finances. Children do that for their parents, parents do that for adult children who are in financial trouble, and it’s not necessary for the world to know that Kyle is helping Kim out. Why did she bring her sister on the show knowing all the emotional and financial troubles she had. It was also disgusting for Andy and producers to exploit Kim on the show. They should have fired her or made her a FOH.
Andy is the biggest piece of shit. He has to be in control and humiliate every woman that works on that franchise via the reunion. No wonder they dread the reunion filming. Aside from the 15 hour day they work, they are psychologically tormented, especially the most vulnerable women.
Showing all that filming that ended up on the editing floor was horrible. Is Andy that desperate with his HW shows losing viewers that he’ll go to any lengths to pull people in. I turned it off after seeing Kim in that limousine and Kyle trying to physically attack her. It was just too painful to see that interaction.
Matzah, I think you fail to understand all Kyle has done for Kim and how very many years she has been tasked with fixing Kim’s mistakes. If you noticed production called Kyle to deal with Kim after they found out she was drunk on set again. Kyle (and Kathy) have both been covering for Kim for years. Kyle and her husband have been taking care of Kim financially for years.
For Kim to come out with “you stole my house!” on national TV after she has been financially supporting her, her sole support, sent her over the edge.
I think you are expecting a Herculean level of restraint from Kyle. Kyle made sure that her sister got a very high paying job on Bravo so that she could support herself. She used that money to buy alcohol the second she was not under the watchful eye of her family.
That is not Kyle’s fault. Kyle needs to be allowed to live her own life at some point. Kyle was supporting her on a condition of her sobriety, and even sober she was unable to take care of herself. It’s been Kyle and Kathy making sure Kim’s kids had what they needed all these years.
I remember Kyle saying that Mauricio sent Kim a large check each month.
Now I know why Kyle would drag her sister along to be part of the RHOBH cast… so that Kim can earn her own paycheck and Kyle & Mauricio wouldn’t have to be financially obligated as much. Too bad the end result was a toxic environment for Kim that caused her life/addiction to spin further out of control as result of the show. Kyle probably thought getting Kim a job would solve her problems, but it seems like it only magnified her problems.
TT, you got it exactly. One thing that really stuck with me all theses years is Kyle saying “Mom HAD to die and leave ME with this mess” to Kim. I thought that said it all. I’ve seen it before in families. Big Kathy was leading the charge of taking care of Kim and I’m guessing extracted a promise from Kyle to take care of Kim (privately or more likely with Kim hearing this) after she’s gone. Would explain why Kyle looks like she wants to have a breakdown when it all falls apart in front of the world.
Thank you, TT. Well said.
ITA Tamara. And knowing Kim as we do now I don’t believe there is any way on earth that she would have ever forgiven Kyle if she didn’t include her on the show – Kim would have thrown that in her face for eternity. Kyle couldn’t win. Include her and the public cries “why do that to your sister!!”. Don’t include her and face the wrath of a very bitter Kim forever. I don’t blame her also wanting Kim to earn her own money.
I’m not exactly a fan of Kyle but I am always amazed when people are disgusted with Kyle over that limo scene. Kim is the first one to start slinging mud. She accuses Kyle and Mauricio – who is building his real estate career – of stealing her home in front of production and running cameras and people think Kyle should sit and say nothing because Kim has a drink problem?! It’s a shame that Kathy’s way of dealing with Kim is to follow their mom’s “hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil” method. I can only imagine the frustration that Kyle has had in having that level of bitterness and accusations thrown at her but living within a family who doesn’t want to talk about it.
Perfectly put T.
Tamara, I can’t disagree with anything that you are saying. Your thinking is logical and on point. I know the relationship of Kyle and Kim hit too close to home and it brought a feeling of anger and disgust as I watched the show and saw Kyle ‘come after’ Kim. I remember the limousine scene in Season 1 and I also recall how we discussed Kim’s ‘belief’ that “Kyle stole her goddamn home” when that became an arc in the last two seasons.
My mom spent most of my adult life in and out of psychiatric wards. She never recovered from my father’s death or the manner that he died which is too dark to discuss on your site. The bottom line is that when I got married, my mother came to live with me for around ten years. It was tough, but it worked out.
My sister and brother wanted to get a durable power of attorney and place her in some ‘home’ in the midwest. My mother wasn’t what I would say wealthy, but she had always managed her money well, saved a good amount of money before pensions and financial planning were all that prevalent.
I nipped that in the bud by bringing my mother into my home. I never resented her, but i resented my brother and sister for not helping me out I paid her bills and preserved her money safely away from my brother and sister. When I got divorced, it became more difficult to pay all her bills, and after a severe debilitating stroke, my mother had to live in assisted living.
After my mother’s own money ran out, I went through my savings and then took out a home equity. In 2008, we had the housing bubble and while not underwater, it was catastrophic for me financially. As you said, Kyle had a right to live her own life and I felt the same way. The big difference is that I felt no contempt for my mother, just my siblings who wouldn’t help me out. I forced my sister after a major meltdown and she had to take over because it became untenable for me to support my kids, pay my bills, pay college tuition, and have enough left over to pay my mother’s rising bills.
Like Kyle, my sister used her husband’s money. It didn’t come out of her bank account She charged my mother’s monthly rent on a charge card, some sort of black card he had from business and racked up 100 grand in charges. She acted like she was so benevolent and my mom’s savior. She also had other monies, as she had taken control over accounts my mother had put in her name back in the 70s. Before the gift tax law put a ceiling on the amount donated before it was taxable and/or the amount the ‘donor’ who in this case was my mother could qualify that money as a deduction. My mother was the unwilling and unknowing ‘donor’ of said gifts.
You articulated the situation between the Richard sisters so well. Objectively, I can read what your wrote and know that you are 100% correct. Emotionally, it arouses repressed feelings of resentment towards my siblings, and perhaps, maybe my own mother??
Well put, TT. Kyle is not perfect but when she broke down in Palm Desert at her new house with Kim, I realized how abused she has been by Kim. Kyle needs to wash her hands and concentrate on her own life and family. Kim doesn’t want to get better and sometimes it works that way. Just keep her from driving!
I could see losing it. Especially, if a parent guilt tripped you into agreeing to manage and be responsable for a sibling who is out of control and spends too much money. Families do this sometimes, they pick and choose who is the strong one, and who gets to be the screw up and let everyone else worry about everything. It actually makes that person worse. I refuse to buy into that. Ill help out siblings at times, but its only on my terms, and not if it infringes on myself or my family. Most husbands wouldnt go along with it either, Kyle’s husband must really love her alot.
Watching that scene again, knowing what we know now… Kim was so drunk and out of it that I thought the look on her face after Kyle said what she said was an angry gleeful look – and then she pointed at Kyle. I can only recall seeing that look on one of my cousin’s face when we were in a fight and I said something that he thought would get me into trouble (I think I called him a boob). He pointed and yelled gleefully, I am going to tell grandma!!! I wouldn’t have been shocked if Kim had yelled that she was going to tell Mom, or you broke your word to Mom! This is all your fault!
And to those who still blame Kyle – I guess you are lucky – you have never had someone do or say something to you that makes you so mad you see red. Also, Kyle said that it came to her watching the show that she realized that her sister has a disease. I think that was probably a big step for her – remember, Kyle is the youngest sister by at least 5 years… I’m guessing she was literally raised to be her enabler, then put on that the deathbed promise to take care of Kim (seriously… that is kind of fucked up.) Plus Kyle said that Kim had been sober for a long while when they started the show… she probably thought it would be fine. (I’m also guessing that Kim was more “dry” than sober, as in working a program)
Great post! Tells it all Kyle has been financing Kim and all Kim had to do was try to fix her life. She is living her own pity party, jealous of the life her sisters have I think she is a nasty, cruel mess of her own making
Well Equinox, I could think you are a cunt because I just read one awful comment by you. But I don’t know your life, or what you have been through or how your day has been, So it would be wrong of me to say you are a cunt satchel of your own making.
See how that works? There is a lot of highly personal stuff about Kim I don’t allow here. But if you knew some of it you might now be so quick to judge and would understand how she wound up in this situation.
Wait just a minute. It is not like this is the first ever season of Housewives. I have no sympathy for anyone involved here regarding the reunion. They all know the score yet they sign up to he on the show. I feel like Andy is the voice for a whole bunch of people behind the scenes who bug him to ask certain questions, etc…He was clearly talking to someone on the other side of an ear piece at one point during the reunion say that she said 18 times she wasn’t going to talk about the “alcoholic” comment. Obviously it is not just a matter of Andy being Andy
Matzah…
I can’t reply to your comment below. So, I have to do it here. Unless you’re failing to mention a sibling-addiction connection like Kyle and Kim, I don’t see it. I understand being frustrated with your siblings, but Kyle’s situation is completely (and justifiably) different than yours.
I’ve ‘been there, done that’ myself with a family member who repeatedly refused to get help for addiction. I understand her anger and frustration. You also have to realize, as with your own situation, this isn’t a new occurrence. Her explosion in the limo was a long time coming. And like it was previously pointed out, Kim knows exactly how to push her buttons. She started it when she said that Kyle ‘stole her house.’ Family is wonderful, huh?
You said it all, Carrie! I am sorry for all that you have been through. I understand the pain and frustration. I know there were times I felt I would explode when my mother went back down a dark road, yet again. I was angry, but I felt sorry for her and couldn’t bring myself to unload my wrath on her. I guess I saved that for my brother and sister who seemed to want to take my mother’s misfortunes and turn it into a financial coup for themselves. Thanks for sharing, truly!!!
Matzah..
Mental illness is an ugly monster.. One that never goes away. And being a caretaker is taxing as well. I understand your frustration with your siblings. Yes.. I’ve had many ‘fun’ experiences in my life! I know how much it means to hear ‘the feelings you’re feeling are justified.’ So.. from someone who ‘gets’ it, you had / have a right to feel the way you did, or still do.
Really hating Andy at the moment and feeling sorry for all the housewives. Thanks for the recap, TT.
Thank you for the recap TT. Most of this was hard to watch. I think the moment that was hardest was the S1 Reunion when the camera panned over to Kim and she looked almost childlike at that moment. A child who was ashamed of her behavior and wishing she were anyplace else on the planet besides in that chair. My heart broke for her all over again.
I saw a different side of Kyle and we got a glimpse of what Kyle and Kim’s relationship is really like and I pity them both. Lots of co-dependency there. Kim’s drug of choice is alcohol and Kyle’s drug of choice is Kim. Very sad.
There’s a special place in Hell for Andrew Cohen. He enjoyed putting the women through the misery far too much. I mean, FFS, he was practically salivating in the talking heads. Gross.
I need a shower.
Kyle and Kim’s relationship is the perfect example Al-Anon was created in the early 1950’s, about 15 years after AA was founded by Bill W. and Dr. Bob. I thought these two quotes from Al-Anon’s Big Book were pertinent:
“Al-Anon literature focuses on problems common to family members and friends of alcoholics such as excessive care-taking, an inability to differentiate between love and pity and loyalty to abusers, rather than the problems of the alcoholic.[5] ”
” We who live, or have lived, with the problem of alcoholism understand as perhaps few others can. We, too, were lonely and frustrated, but in Al-Anon we discover that no situation is really hopeless, and that it is possible for us to find contentment, and even happiness, whether the alcoholic is still drinking or not.”[6]
I’m eternally baffled why people keep putting down Kyle for at long last dropping the veil and revealing Kim’s alcoholism. There’s only so much one person can take. I think the people criticizing Kyle haven’t had to deal with an alcoholic/drug addict in their family.
Andy does not force the women to sign contracts to expose their lives. Everyone’s messiness is their own doing.
Yes Andy exploits, but they signed up for this for:
-Fame
-A paycheck
-A platform to shill & endorse products
Thank You.
I also do not think it is ALL Andy…
Damn, did the Veiwers take a turn on him! I get it what some people say to a point. but, that is it.
Of course it’s not all Andy and I don’t think anyone (or at least me) turned on him. I have always thought he was shady and the more and more I see him I think the true him shines through.
On WWHL, Ellen Barkin, a close friend of Andy’s, remarked that he was known for deliberately stirring the pot in their group of friends….I always remembered that.
Andy has to do it for his job. The guests do it for a pay check.
Amen! Doesn’t anyone hold themselves accountable for ‘their own’ actions anymore??
Amen! Doesn’t anyone hold themselves accountable anymore for ‘their own’ actions??
Andy sure does seem to enjoy all the dysfunction these women expose.
The only positive I came away with here was Dubois telling Andy to fuck off.
Any time I see or read anything about Kim I am reminded of a series I watched about alcoholism and drug abuse that begins at a young age. It was said that when the abuse begins it somewhat freezes the brain at that age. It makes complete sense when watching Kim and it’s sad. Like movies where children swap places with their parents, she is a child stuck in an adults body.
I have long held the belief that Mr. Cohen has done women no favors with these franchises. He is the worst kind of pot stirrer, just delegates the nasty to production and sits back and salivate. All while pretending he cares. Would love to see someone bring him a great big spoon for the clubhouse. All these clips last night were sad. Camille, Kim and Kyle especially. Stay well Kim and show them all.
I think most of these ‘real housewives’ among all of the franchises haven’t been doing themselves any favors way before Andy Cohen came along. He just provided the platform for them.
I am in no way saying these women did not already have issues on their own before Mr. Cohen. All I am saying is he loves putting that addict in front of the drug and GLEEFULLY watch and stir and watch and stir and then act like he cares. And by addict/drug I mean whatever that might mean (I.e. greed, alcohol, fame for example) We are all responsible for our actions and that isn’t the point I was making. I am saying that Andy revels in it.
Edit: JMO like you have yours. Arguments for me just interrupt the discussion.
Wow I thought the other seasons had drama but it seems they pale in comparison to season one! Wish I could binge watch! Andy is the devil!
I love AndyCohen. That he has to wrangle those crazy women on the reunion shows. It is a reality show that is supposed to have crazy drama. Who would watch a bunch of boring women having tea parties.
Seasons 1-2 were definitely the best of RHOBH. Makes me wish we could go back to a time when HW’s weren’t so heavily influenced by twitter and social media
I feel for Kyle! I’ve dealt with an alcoholic brother for years and you can just loose it after trying to help them so many times!! I hope Kim can stay sober but it has to be her that wants it.
I found this behind the scenes really interesting. Mainly, because I was one of the few people who was completely SHOCKED when Kyle called Kim an alcoholic. Not because of the calling her an alcoholic, but because editing had done such a good job of hiding how big the problem was. I am sure that I would have figured it out in season 2 based solely on her behavior, but it wasn’t until Kyle called her an alcoholic that all of Kim’s other behaviors made sense. The not showing up, the showing up late, the appearing to be completely unaware of what was going on, should have been big signs, but I just didn’t see them and they were glossed over so quickly, that I didn’t really even notice. So, going back and seeing not only some of the original footage but also some of the stuff that was happening behind the scenes was a real eye opener for me. I wouldn’t say it was entertaining, but definitely interesting. I would love to see OC and Jersey get this behind the scenes kind of treatment so that we have a better understanding of how certain dynamics got so bad on screen when they seemed to come out of no where.
The more I think about it the more I wonder why Andy decided to do this behind the scenes disclosure now , and whether this isn’t simply another version of what happened at the time..
I have not seen it yet, but TT’ summary makes it clear that Andy chose to highlight the depth of Kim’s disease, the efforts made by all to hide it , and more of Kyle’s view of the situation in that season. It sounds like he wanted to 1) explain why Kim was let go, how long they had attempted to work around her issues, and how much Kyle had as well. , and 2) just how much taping goes into any scene, and how much control the editors have.
It sounds like Andy disclosed his joy at their bizarre/difficult moments too much, but ti showed us a depth of insight we’ve never had before.
I agree- would love to see several episodes of NJ played this way- and I’d love for the audience to be able to choose them! And for NY- if they would show “Scary Island” and the one where Jill and Bobby showed up-“Shunburn” or whichever its name- it would be fascinating. And Kelly will have an attorney in court tomorrow to prevent it.
But I do wonder what Andy’s agenda is, whether it is to whet our appetites for more time with Camille, etc. or to explain how long and bad Kim’s story was. or show how many stories were lost in the arrival of Brandi, whatever. But I am sure there is an agenda, and it will unfold as the season evolves. t does make me wonder how much editorial license was utilized this time, and how much tape there is that would disclose still other points of view on the same scenes.
I loved seeing baby Portia. She was so cute.
We may think Andy is a Shit stirrer and a terrible person for what he exposes, but not only do the women get paid to promote themselves and their crap and show their lives, but WE WATCH IT so what does that make us?
A-fucking-men, Ingrid. We watch it, we write about it, we comment on it daily. What executive producer would not be thrilled that the show they have put together is resonating with the public?
I see the logic in your statement, Ingrid. However, we are all uncomfortable when the shows get too real. Nobody wanted to see Kim break and slide further into addiction.
Nobody wanted to see her sister have a meltdown over Kim’s behavior. No one wanted to see a fake cancer line and the inevitable clusterfuck that ensued. And I personally didn’t want to watch Vicki’s reaction to losing her mother. Too close to home, so I opted out.
The ratings aren’t what they used to be. Like many commenters, I read the site, but am finding it harder and harder to watch these shows. RHONY was good this year. Not too dark, just enough drama to make it worth tuning in.
I will say this much…. I would love to have Camille back. That Allison D. sounds like a looooooonie tune.
i guess Bravo should stick to scripted reality, because Season 1 was TOO real: alcoholism, family betrayal, divorce & suicide? I am finding the petty girl fights a little easier to deal with now. And I wish they would bring back Camille & Allison. Allison was a great wingman for Camille. Loved her snarky comments & e-cig, LOL!
