Crime Continues to Pay For the Giudices As They Escape Foreclosure on Montville Property

November 15, 2015 by tamaratattles 70 Comments

RHONJ Tre floor house

It seems out favorite Felons by Bravo have managed to pull themselves out of foreclosure at the last minute. According to an Oct. 22 filing from lender Community Bank of Bergen County obtained by NJ Advance Media, “The Defendant has reinstated the mortgage and therefore the foreclosure is hereby settled.” This means that they have managed to make up their missed mortgage payments.

If I recall correctly the Giudices paid just under $2 million for the property and owed around $1.7 million on it  when they attempted bankruptcy. It seems to me that Joe made enough money on Teresa Checks In to catch up all the past due payments. Another BailoutByBravo.

Photo: Bravo Will we have another RHONJ Christmas?
Photo: Bravo It’s almost time for  another RHONJ Christmas?

That sleazy new lawyer is making all sort of statements about how Teresa wanted to save the family home that is full of so many memories of  where they raised their children.  You know, instead of buying a house they can’t afford. My guess they just want to keep the house until the gang moves to Italy.

Reports indicate that Teresa has also sold the rights to book based on her prison diaries for her ghost writer to write.  And of course, it’s clear RHONJ has been waiting for her to get out of prison so that she can start making her RHONJ checks again.

Isn’t that just peachy?

None of this really surprises me. I am much more interesting in seeing if Joe actually reports to prison.  I would not be surprised if he took Pete’s passport and left for Italy in early 2016.  It becoming more probable that he is going to get deported anyway.  If he does, will Teresa and the girls follow him? I’m not sure if she can leaved the country when she is on supervised release. Maybe she will stay in the house until her supervised release is over.  I’m not really sure how long that will be.

So who thinks Joe will run?

Just not right. I hope people will boycott the return of this show. It will be cancelled if ratings are bad. It’s not right to reward this felon

Joe being able to make mortgage payments is interesting, Lock Teresa up, take away her ability to spend and bills get paid.
I always thought Joes inability to rein Teresa’s spending in was the start of their financial ruin.

I recall Joe talking to Chris about the household budget they lived by. He seemed fascinated that Chris had his wife on a budget.

They are financial brain trusts. Bad decision- mortgage payments have to be around 10K a month, NOT COUNTING taxes, repairs, etc. After all the dust settles, I doubt they will be able to continue their “lifestyle”. They (or Bravo) are doing this so they can be in that house for next season. After that, even with the ghostwritten book, there will only be so many fans that will care about her, or them. So, who is going to go to work then? My God, how stupid are people? It amazes me.

Yes, she may love her children, but the values she appears to have taught them on the show are lacking. She used to be entertaining to watch, because of those aforementioned qualities. I don’t think they or he will run. You can see in his face and body language the acceptance of what’s coming.

And I don’t know why it irritates me that they haven’t learned anything; I mean, was anyone expecting differently? They’re continuing to live way beyond their means, as folks have said here, in a crazy expensive home when they could have downsized, lived well, and put their Bravo money toward paying off what they owe to other people. But they’ve never taken that seriously. No real remorse on that front. Everybody bilks others, in their mind. The lesson for their children isn’t: let’s make amends, it’s more denial.

And, really, moving to a new space, with a starting over narrative, would be a far more compelling RH story than staying put.

As for going to Italy, she barely speaks English. I promise you, both of them know some slang, and a few regional phrases, but they don’t speak fluent italian, and not enough to work there-there is still a large unemployment rate in southern Italy. Maybe he could drive a cab in Palermo. What are her skills? If she attempts to cook there for a living, she would get kicked out for bastardizing food! So, Italy isn’t an option.

That’s why it’s so ridiculous when Joe claims he wasn’t sure, or thought he was a citizen. I think he will go to jail willingly. What’s he going to do in Italy? He’ll sit in jail, and then throw himself to the mercy of the immigration courts. If he goes to Italy, it will be because he gets deported.

The other thing that isn’t clear is if he is even a legal status. Like does he have a green card? I know quite a few canadians (which is where I was born) here in the U.S. who have opted to not file for citizenship, but you still need to renew your green card every 5-10 years, depending on your status. The test contained a lot of questions that I knew (but had forgotten) or never knew. The test was only a small part in the process of becoming a citizen. I felt very fortunate to be an American citizen and humbled at how hard people have to work to become what I was blessed to be born with ?

Joe and Tre are financially irresponsible. I’m hoping they made good on the mortgage so they can keep whatever little bit of equity they have and can unload it quick. $10,000 a month in carrying costs is insane when their financial status is so precarious.

They could maybe keep up those payments for another couple of years then Tre and Joe will fade into obscurity and have absolutely no way to make a living.

    Then what?

They’ve pissed away $13 million. That isn’t easy to do.

Maybe if you weren’t hahaha’ing and mistaking my genuine opinion for sarcasm you would have understood my post essentially agrees with what I think you are saying hannahKG? It doesn’t get realler than real criminals that do time for their criminal activity. I don’t think it’s unfortunate for the creditors that “Crime Really Does Pay.” It also doesn’t get any realler than the glimpses we get of Teresa still ordering roses and jewelry from her prison cell or in the past, the out of control Milania in the grocery store, drunk Joe doing the splits or laying hungover Christmas morning on the couch.

I’ve asked myself many times “Self, why are you so into “reality” tv when you know they are anything but and in other areas of your life you consider yourself reasonably intelligent”?

The answer for me is just those kinds of glimpses. That the “stars” and the producers want to portray one kind of reality and I see another. (Altho’ it’s delicious when the producers/editing cut ‘n splice to be in on the joke with us.) Obviously, ymmv.

tess, wow your last statement to me ymmv = You Make Me Vommit. Lol. Now I don’t think that’s really what you meant just like I didn’t mean to insult your opinion. Yet and still I think we do differ on our opinions of Teresa’s and Joe’s realness.

What other person do you know in prison that has a t.v. show that features calls from her? I think what we see is either scripted or what Teresa wants us to see and hear not anything close to her true story. In my mind these glimpses of their reality you referred to about Teresa ordering roses from prison or Milania being out of control are nothing more than the Guidices milking more Bravo money to try to maintain a lifestyle that they are unable to uphold without stealing and committing fraud. These glimpses are scripted to try to make us the viewers feel sympathy for the family even though Teresa and Joe brought it on themselves. I do agree with you that they need to pay their creditors the money owed even if they don’t feel they do.

Out of this list of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, Unicorns, Aliens and true reality t.v., the only one I don’t believe exists is true reality t.v. The one statement you made that I don’t understand is the producers/editors being in on the joke with us. What joke? The joke that we continue to watch criminals, violence between housewives, women tearing down other women or lies about or questioning health issues?

tess, maybe I’m just missing your point. I guess those few glimpses just don’t do it for me in the realness department. It’s just not enough for me to give them a pass.

I think Joe will do his prison time. He has too much ego to let Teresa show him up to the world that she survived it and he skipped out. I think the slick new lawyer will somehow be a benefit to their life.

I hope Joe doesn’t get deported. Creditors will never see a dime from him if he does. I don’t know the law. With Teresa already convicted, would there be any advantages for them to divorce? If half the debt gets paid through her tv, books, whatever else, opportunities, could she be free of the balance of debt if divorced from Joe? I know people have divorced as an advantage to get out of money related obligations. They were not convicted federal cons though. And, a divorce for any reason, doesn’t mean the couple do not lovingly cohabitate.

I do not think her fame will last too much longer, unless some whole new type of gig is found. In time, people forget or soften about someone they dislike, if there is a big enough attraction to draw you back in. I doubt Teresa has any undiscovered talent, her fame has peaked, but I am continually surprised by housewives and their ability to be famous for shit.

Rumor has it the Gorgas are in more financial straights than ever before. Likely due to that lack of Bravo RHONJ checks. I imagine they, especially Melissa, appeared in the 3 part drama solely for Brave money, not family unity.

Of course the bank was going to settle up with them. It’s in their best interest. That house was done way too specific for one person’s taste….or lack thereof. There was no way anyone would buy that house. Only 2 people on the planet could live there….Teresa or Stevie Wonder. And I’m pretty sure Stevie has his own digs. They got Bravo money from the special. She’s got book money, and whatever they will make for the next season of RHONJ.

So let this be a lesson to everyone. Make your house so ugly that no one on Earth would want to live there. This way, your mortgage company will continue to work with you in times of financial turmoil. I guess there are some things we can learn from these shows.

I think the quick answer is you can’t get a US passport when you are not a citizen. I just got my passport this year after becoming a citizen, and you have to send in your certificate of citizenship, the original, not a copy. I think he’s known all along he isn’t a citizen. He probably used his Italian passport in that Bravo Italy trip, or maybe used his brother Pete’s passport…I mean he was using his license.

Unless they downsize and refuse to buy anymore ridiculous things for their daughters, they will always be in over their heads. One big check and they can pay off this lien, but Teresa is going to want new shoes, and rings, and weaves, and socks, and paper towel holders.

Oh they are not going to pay anything on the lien. The lien only comes in to play when the house sells. They are already REALLY upside down on the mortgage. They never stood too make any money selling the house, They will let it foreclose eventually.
