We are finally getting our Real Housewives of Washington D.C. back. I’ve been hearing about filming going on since March and the location and the titles have changed a lot. First we were told that they were filming in Prince George County but now apparently the story is they live in Potomac. That’s interesting.  Bravo is clearly trying to recreate the RHOA from scratch in a new city. Let’s see if this all black cast can live up to the RHOA level of ratchet and overcome the D.C. housewives curse.

The cast includes  Katie Rost, a  gorgeous biracial model and TV personality who used host Teen Summit on BET, She also used to date Russsel Simmons and married to Dr. James Orsni in 2011. They have  three kids and she runs a of a non-profit for Leukemia research.  Apparently, they are separated and/or divorced and she is dating.  There may be some shadiness happening here. The streets are talking about this one.

Gizelle Bryant (Photo by: Tommy Garcia/Bravo) Watch out for this one.
Gizelle Bryant (Photo by: Tommy Garcia/Bravo) Watch out for this one.

Gizelle Bryant is working on a makeup line. I’ve also heard she  has a line of women’s shapewear. She has three daughters and is divorced  from popular Baltimore pastor Jamal Bryant. She does some sort of charity work in Birmingham, Alabama where I believe she is from. She comes from old money but not local money. She’s the loud one with a since of entitlement. In other words she is the Nene.

Robyn Dixon, a publicist who is divorced from yet still living with former Atlanta Hawks player  Juan Dixon.  He is a basketball coach at the University of Maryland. The “divorce” could be so that he could file bankruptcy (which he did) last year and allow her to keep the house. I really don’t know enough to speculate. Yet.

Ashley Darby 22, former Miss Washington D.C. (2011) married to Micheal Darby who is an Australian real estate broker.  He’s  very rich, and she’s very much younger. Michael has two grown children who are  older than she is. Currently, her main job is trying to get knocked up. Sounds like the Porsha. She appears to be the least educated of the bunch.

Charrisse Jackson Jordan married to an NBA player turned coach  Eddie Jordan. He doesn’t seem to really live with her, in fact he lives in New Jersey.  Perhaps just during the off-season? Something is off in this relationship.

Karen Huger is married to Raymond Huger. He is the CEO of an IT company. They have two kids, one adult and one graduating from H.S. She will probably have the empty nest storyline, much like Yolanda Foster did.  Karen is the one obsessed with old money and lives in the best neighborho0d

I am interested to see this as its my neck of the woods. PG county is a shithole so not surprised they couldn’t make a go of it there. There are a few enclaves but by and far it’s a pit. Especially compared to Potomac. I kinda miss the DC housewives. It was a fun train wreck.

Thinking the same thing if Prince George’s County. I was a special Ed teacher at Oaklands Elem. School in PG County which was on Laurel-Bowie Rd. It certainly was a shithole then. I lived in Arlington and Baltimore while my ex was doing his residency. The Potomac is beautiful with some very regal homes. Interested in the show because of some old roots I had there.

Based on this picture, that’s sure some white black ladies. I was very surprised when I read “all black cast”. I hope it is better than both DC and ATL.

I hear ya! Just reading the word “leukemia” scared me 🙂 I seriously doubt I will be watching this, it will be the same shit, different day, kind of thing. I think I may actually be overcoming my addiction for HW’s because they have become so rote. I’ll just hang with who I know at this point, and not venture into the Potomac at all. Thanks but no thanks Bravo.

I have heard/read that BH is going to go after Yolanda as they did with Vicky and I feel like it’s going to be vicious; particularly since Taylor Armstrong Buehler is going to lead the attack. Bravo seems to be so proud that their cancer storyline made national entertainment news. Ugh

I saw a preview yesterday, old money, new money, the one that doesn’t fit, I think the youngest is thought to not fit in. One woman said she was bi-racial, another said you need to identify as black. I thought it might be interesting. Or good for a laugh they seem pretentious

I’m not at all surprised this group seems pretentious. When I lived in DC, I had interaction with some uber wealthy women and they were f’in snobs (it was because of my job, not because I was hangin’ with them).

It’s so very interesting that you know so much about her the restaurant is owned by her husband. If he made her part owner then that’s just adorable. Also it hasn’t even been open two weeks, and it is supposedly “authentic Australian food” with no Australians in the kitchen and not a single person experienced in the restaurant business involved. So you sitting around commenting on your 2011 local pageant title, or your 15 semester hours at a college, isn’t going to help make the new restaurant a success. It takes more than a tiara and a couple freshman general education courses to run a restaurant. I predict it will go tits up before the end of 2016.

By the way, have you learned how to operate the hood fan yet?

Wow, Tamara. You got this ‘Victoria Miles’ good. Am I to believe that this poster could/is one of the new HW on the Potomac franchise? My brother lives in N.W. of D of C, near Chevy Chase. I asked him about the restaurant via text. He told me it was close to where I formerly lived in Arlington. I still have friends that live around there, right off of Glebe Rd. on Martha Custis Drive. He said he hasn’t been there yet, but sent me an article from Washingtonian magazine critiquing the new restaurant. My brother did say that the inside was gutted and that they brought in a Chef from Australia to help design the menu.

I really want to say I’m done, it’s dispicable, boohissboo Andy, depraved Bravo, awful ratcheness, etc…

But I’m sorry… Unpopular opinion… I FUCKING LOVE ALL OF IT. I love the whole process. I love it when they’re nice, I love it when they’re awful, I love the lies and the drama and the shadiness. I love that Andy is evil and manipulative. I love people being dragged by their weave. Heck, I even love acting all high and mighty when I find out Brooks is a big lie face. THEN I love to come here, read the tea and watch the drama unfold in the comments. None of it is real, but It’s syre more interesting than the price of groceries, and less gut-wrenching than real life!!!

As Porsha would say, it gives me pure life. Sorrynotsorry.

Actually, Ladies of London is a pretty good show (I mean, for Bravo). It may be a bit less EXPLOSIVE, but the show is more fun and positive and the ladies are at least not trash. The show also has an ongoing “proper etiquette” theme running through it, and Bravo can sure as hell use some of that!!!

Prince George’s County is no place to film a Reality Show and I believe whomever mentioned a show being filmed there didn’t know what they were speaking about. However, the drama would have been real! PG County, a shit hole- lol. Some area’s maybe but the entire county- not true. Not when you have million dollar homes on the water and town homes starting at seven hundred thousand. Sugar Ray Lenard used to have a house in Potomac way back when he was still married to Juanita and back then and even now- it is okay! I dislike those oversized cookie cutter style colonial homes anyhow. These women have piled on the make-up. I am dying to see how many will divorce after the first season.

It may be that Potomac and Dallas are intended more as replacements than additions.

Perhaps OC will die a merciful (for us) death after this past season proved to be so rancid. The future of the NJ edition is anything but certain, and it’s possible that they see the NY edition as nearing the end of its lifecycle with one or two more seasons -at maximum – left.

If so, the new cities could get up and running and find a following before they pull the plug on a couple of the dying ones.

I grew up in PG County a long time ago when it like the Donna Reed Show and it was a perfect place to live. Leave your house after breakfast and ride bikes all day, parents never knew where we were and we were safe.I am also a Terp (U of MD) so I will try this show and hope I won’t regret it.

Potomac is pretty but it was hit very hard during the real estate crisis, whole streets of mansions for sale.
