I feel like this was one of the better episodes as far as driving along the story without being too heavy handed. That said, Wes Bentley…..bless his heart. He couldn’t act his way out of a wet paper bag.

And Liz Taylor!!!! She is EVERYTHING. My heart broke for her.

I cant get enough of Liz and her story. The countess is evil and she shouldve listened to Auntie Ramona! Countess wont share, not even the toys she doesnt like playing with that much. I didnt think a throat slice could kill Tristen, though, so Im learning more and more.

I wasn’t aware of that, either. I remember the Countess said they weren’t indestructible, but I would have thought it might have taken a little more to kill them.

But why would a throat slash kill them ?? Ramona said her wounds would be healed within an hour. I know hers were only deep cuts but.. its not like it was a stake to the heart. Maybe Liz can save Tristan? As far as the Countess goes.. her comuppance is swirling in the dead-scented air at the Hotel Cortez.

Tristan is not exactly immortal. As long as he consums the blood that he needs and doesn’t do anything stupid, like getting his jugular slashed, he could live as long as possible…. I’d be surprised if Tristan was somehow revived. I think he is dead, but of course we’ll see him again.

I dunno? I was just thinking of the amount of blood that was lost. He looked like he was bleeding dry.
I’m trying to remember if we have seen an infected person get their throat slashed like that.
It would be FANTASTIC if he is able to be saved and Tristan and Liz Taylor try and get revenge on the Countess.

In one of the first episodes Tristan asked if they were immune to bullets to which Luann so succinctly replied “bitch please of course not” (or something).

It’s been shown several times that they heal fast from surface wounds however are just as susceptible to mortal wounds as anyone else – hence Ramona’s rapper boyfriend dying from a bullet after he’d been turnt.

She kind of protected John by not telling Countess how Bartholemew got out or that he shot him and referred to him as a “little monster.” I dont think she hates him, but needs him to steer clear of the hotel. I think she wants him put into an asylum.

    This was a fantastic episode.

I think this Bartholomew baby is some sort of homage to the monster baby living in the basement of AHS:MurderHouse from Season 1.

If anyone watched S1 the monster baby (that fans would refer to as Infantata) would roll the ball in the basement just like Bartholomew did to Ramona Royale when she was in his baby suite. As I recall the baby is Thaddeus Montgomery. His father Dr. Montgomery performed illegal abortions in the basement ( and on The Countess too in this episode). Thaddeus was kidnapped as a infant and dismembered. In his grief Dr. Montgomery sewed Thaddeus’ remains together and added some parts of the other aborted babies to his son creating the blood thirsty monster in the basement that terrorized in Season 1.

I think Bartholomew is different character altogether. Obviously he is The Countess’ deformed late term aborted fetus that is infected with her blood virus. That is why he hasn’t aged.

UF, wasnt it the other son Beau that played ball in season one? What was the name of the albino son that was cut from that season? Think the Countess needed the abortion because she was already pregnant when infected and thats the only way it would come out? Always so many more questions. 🙂

Steve I think you’re right about Beauregard & his ball in the attic. (I completely forgot about Beau until you mentioned him).

But I also think that Thaddeus Montgomery (Infantata) rolled a ball in the basement that spooked the curiosity of unsuspecting basement visitors. Remember the redheaded twins in the very 1st episode. Didn’t they lose or drop a ball in the basement right before Infantata murdered them?

I wish someone could cover the ensembles in addition to the music. My favorite so far is Alex’s black dress (borrowed from Countess) with the long sheer willowy sleeves and belted waist ( vintage Givenchy) followed by the green hat and dress (vintage Chanel) Countess wore in the scene with Liz and Tristan’s admission of guilt. I die for the white gown with the capped sleeve and empire waist (designer?) that
Countess wears to see her son. Liz’s black dress with the studs was gorgeous as are all the vintage miu mius. Sooo obsessed!!

She moves slowly & stealthy like a cat that is about to kill it’s prey… and the green ensemble she wore in this episode was EVERYTHANG channeling some vintage glamour.

I LOVED the opening. Liz and Tristan. I knew Tristan was dead the moment he told Liz he loved her. Or is he?

That scene felt so true, such ill fated love. At the end I think she killed Tristan for telling her the truth of what she is. Too many people are gunning for the Countess now…she just may have stayed at the party way too long.

Where did Alex put the sleeping coffins so that John and Ramona didn’t find them? I know she gave John Verset and moved them so she could convince him that he was having a breakdown. Another question. I didn’t sleep last night and the roofers came today and made enough noise to wake the dead on AHS so I didn’t sleep much today. Was it the blood on the shirt that drew baby Bartholomew into John’s suitcase? Was he just trying to get away from Auntie Ramona? I’m confused. I think Alex “saving” the Countess’ son will somehow put her into Alex’s debt. She’s completely devoid of conscious regarding everything and everyone except her child. I wonder where that will lead.

That reminds me of a couple other plot holes. First, whose blood was that on John when he was getting down with the universal studio tarts? And secondly, when John looked in his suitcase and saw the blood, (which he put there) why did he suddenly realize there was a creature in his house? Was he so befuddled that he forgot where the blood came from?

In Season 1 that doctor performed illegal abortions in his basement in the 1920’s. He was performing an abortion on The Countess. I presume because the baby is infected with same blood virus as his mother is what gave him the ability to survive out of her uterus; plus the fetus had to be nearly the size of a full term baby. The Countess had a huge pregnancy bump even though she told the Dr she was only 3 weeks pregnant.

She is a great person and I want happiness for her. I too wonder why she hasnt been turned.. maybe she will drink Tristens blood?? I dont know. Its hard to believe that Tristan feel in love with Liz after catching blood virus.. because Countess explains that emotions are different for them, she tastes emotions like love and hate. But it seems like Tristan feels real love for Liz. Food for thought.

Any thoughts on who infected the Countess? I think she said something like “He was even more beautiful than you” to Tristan which made me think it was Bartholomew….she loves him and finds him more beautiful than anyone….however the nurse said based on her temp she was dead. If she was pregnant before, how did she conceive? I am assuming that whoever got her pregnant infected her as all…and that want Mr. March. Also, what was up w/ the Dr.? Was he just wicked high or did the name of the friend she gave him let him know something? He seemed ok w/ a dead nurse & demon baby…..how much ether (or whatever) does that take?
Also, Liz is such a different person since becoming herself. She was a dick to her son when she was an unhappy suburban husband. I wonder whatever became of that family.

I agree about her being pregnant before she was infected. I wonder though if the pregnancy sped up after she was infected. I figured the 3 weeks along thing was just crap she was telling the doc so he didn’t turn her away, but how didn’t her husband notice she was expecting? I guess all the building ginormous hotels and murder kept him busy.
