Project Runway Judges critiques

My DVR didn’t tape this at all this week, and so I have been watching the finale On Demand this morning.  I’ve been up all night and I’m feeling some kinda way about this website, so I am just going to give a few thoughts and then hear what you guys thought.

Ashley went from a crybaby with low self-esteem making crop tops and circle skirts to arrogant snot who seemed to think her win was obvious and inevitable.  I ended not liking her personally and hating her NYFW collection. The shorts! Dear God the models all had that fat girl thing where your things make your shorts ride up between your legs. Just awful. Her  final piece was hideous. There were a few redeeming pieces but it was really bad overall.  Is it me or did the Carmen Miranda headwear get EVEN BIGGER?

Project runway finale Kelly

Kelly’s show was better than I expected.  She edited out all but two or three fannypack.  The dress she talked to the judges with still had way too much panty hose fabric. There were plenty of really chic looks though. She could win. I haven’t seen the end yet.

I never liked Candice personally, but I thought her show was great. The hoop dress was even prettier without the hoop. The cherry blossom dress she started the show with was lovely. I thought the judges were awfully hard on her. I’m said she held back for them and then still got bashed. That left her wishing she had just done what she wanted to anyway. The outfit she took out on stage to talk to the judges was her worst.

Edmond as usually really pulled it off. I loved his last two dresses, especially the white one that Heidi called a toilet paper dress. I hope that Edmond wins. But they seem to really like Kelly.

Are you kidding me?  They totally eliminated everyone in reverse order.

This season sucked. Ashley, who last week could not even sew in a zipper is the winner? Fuck that.  Edmond and Candice were robbed.

TT, the brown makes your website so dark. Maybe it’s just me, but I liked the other one better. As far as Project Runway, this had to be the worst season. As a plus size woman I would not wear any of Ashley’s clothes. I thought they were ugly. It was reported that Tim Gunn didn’t even like this season. I, personally, liked Candice.

You are so right! Candice & Edmond were robbed! I totally thought Candice was the winner. What did the judges see in Ashley’s collection that gave her the win?!
      What a let-down…

Now, I am just the opposite, and for purely selfish reasons. I love the white on brown. It is so easy on my eyes. So much easier for my poor old eyesight. Has a very cool look to it. As for the show. I agree with you completely TT. Still finding it hard to believe that Kelly and Ashley were the top 2? Was the worse season ever !!

TT, love the new web design. I just wish the font was white instead of cream bc I’m having trouble reading it even when I’m wearing my cheaters.

As far as Ash!ey winning, WTF!! I’ll stick to my fat man uniform which consists of a men’s 3XL white tee and jeans before I’d be caught dead in most of her collection.

Her finalhole piece was ridiculous. I’m Mexican and yet I have no clue what “Mexico in the 1950’s” even means. If people were walking around with circular tablecloths and flower centerpieces, then she nailed it.

Poor Edmond, he waited 13 years to be robbed bc someone was supposedly designing for us fatties. There’s a big difference between a size 14/16 and a size 24/26. I’m sure no one want to see my back fat, stretch marks and arm flab peeking through her lace and see through garments.

I’m glad I’ve read some plus size people’s opinions. Everyone knows plus sized people. The majority are shaped nothing like those models in her show. I just thought those clothes were terrible. I’m a slim person and I still would not wear it!

I like the new background. It’s classy and impressive. As for Project Runway…..I am disgusted by their choice of a winner. Ashley’s stuff was ugly and she was awful. No woman with a brain would wear her clothing. It was not flattering to women of any size. Edmond was my favorite but I had a feeling that they would give it to the “big girls” designer to make a statement. The only statement that they made in my opinion is that larger women should dress in a flattering way to suit their bodies and Ashley’s stuff just doesn’t do that. It was like large girls pretending not to be large and looking awful in the process. I am older and I would not wear clothes suited to younger women so if I were large why would I wear clothing that was suited to skinny girls? Crop tops are not attractive on large women, imo and the shorts…oh the awful shorts that made them all look horrible. It was a sell-out and a disappointing season. I didn’t like Candace or Kelly’s stuff either but at least they showed some talent and imagination. The purple haired people eater was a farce and so was the ending. It seemed predestined and like they knew all along that this is what they intended to do to make a point. They did larger women no favors by picking this particular designer and I’m sure that there are people who actually know how to flatter the less than stick thin people (as most of us are) that would have done a much better job. Ashley went from humble to horrible and I hated the end result.

I thought Kelly was robbed; hers was the most unusual/innovative collection and this is supposedly a design competition.

Edmond’s show was great, but he had too many looks that were underwhelming. And the white dress? Loved it from the front, but as soon as she turned around I said, “Ugh, looks like toilet paper”, so I’m with Heidi on that one.

Candace’s was nice but derivative. Nothing terribly original there, but loved the un-hooped dress. HATED that gown that looked like it had red claws.

I don’t get the effusive praise for or Ashley’s win at. All. Her signature piece, with the appliqué flowers (glued on, psssh) made the model look about 350lbs! Ugh. And her lauded “color sense”? Terrible. I can only SMH at her win.

Thank you for all the hard work you do to make your site more enjoyable. I hate to say it but this dark background makes it hard for me to read, really messes with my eyes. I agree I felt like it was a slam dunk for Ashley when they told her go for plus size! Let us just remember how she humiliated and embarrassed the makeover for the staff member clearly she cannot design for plus size real woman the runway models with crop tops looked silly the shorts were ridiculous and Ashley herself never could pull off wearing see through lace!!

Ashley had the most cohesive collection. She took the biggest risk by doing plus size. Her plus size designs could be scaled down to non-plus. I was rooting for her to get to fashion week, but I’m surprised she won. I thought Kelley was going to pull it out but I think the judges rewarded Ashley for doing plus size. In case Kelley reads here – girl practice honing your aesthetic and come back on the next all-stars.

Everyone will have their opinion who should have won based on what collection they liked best. I did not find Ashley arrogant at all, I think she simply gained some confidence based on the judges final feedback. Candace had a ton of fit issues in her collection, those red pants with the crop top had some kind of weird crotch thing going on, as well as the fit of the black leather dress that Zac pointed out. To me she was the arrogant one, every single week she spent half her narrative time running someone in the dirt, usually Ashley but she talked about Edmond and on occasion Kelley as well. Personally, I found her collection, with the exception of 2 pieces to be the ugliest and I agreed it was costumey. I could not have been happier to see her go out in 4th based on her arrogance and attitude through out the competition (she was pretty relentless on Swapnil, lots of backhanded comments.) It will be interesting to see the reunion next week.

Ashley????? WTF??!! Her collection was hideous: those cheap-looking flower headdresses; pastel bridal lace in a pink and purple palette; unflattering shapes, especially for plus-sized women; hand-dyed exposed zippers … what young woman wants to dress in Mexican styles from the 50’s? And worst of all, her smug attitude when she realized the judges liked her stuff. Boy, did that show her true side and it was ugly. I think she only won because she “represented” full-figured fashion design. It was Kelly who should have won with her edgy, cool work (no wonder she cried) and the judges should be ashamed of themselves.

I was shocked with the winner, but just assumed she would win because they never had a plus size winner/designer before. This season was lame and if they don’t shake things up it will be another show on the chopping block. There were way too many misses this season and partly due to the fact they all second guessed themselves. Keep it real and true to yourself – love it or hate, at least you truly did your thing!

Bonnie, I think Heidi and Nina need to go. They both seem really arrogant. I like the idea of a reality show that actually has people doing something positive and not tossing wine in each others’ faces for attention and camera time. But Heidi bores me now. I do not know who styled Heidi, but she needs to fire them. She wears some of the ugliest clothes I have ever seen. Also, they need to stop pumping up their designers with people who cannot sew, draw, make patterns or really design. I don’t want to see a home sewer nightmare. I get tired of the unconventional materials challenges. I liked the way it used to be – the designers would work challenges that were focused on real clothes. They have those unconventional challenges every season, but winning them seldom translates into winning the show. I want to see beautiful clothes that real people would wear, not miles and miles of computer cord twisted into some ugly design.

If there was going to be a show this season, the producers had no choice but to have so many unconventional challenges. Bring on the glue guns — At least 1/2 of the designers couldn’t sew. I’m currently watching all the episodes I missed (which is the majority) & I can’t believe the shoddy sewing skills.

On an IPad (or any touchscreen device), just put your thumb and middle finger on the screen and spread them apart. This will enlarge the font. Conversely, pinch your fingers together again to make it smaller. Hope that helps you.

She put out too many fug clothes all along and if she weren’t making clothes for the fat women, she would have been eliminated. I guess even Project Runway has been invaded by the PC crowd. Mustn’t insult fat women, crying designers, or the untalented – or, in other words, mustn’t go against Ashely in any way. Le sigh… So begins the downfall of my formerly favorite reality show.

Project Runway has had more than one controversial win in it’s past. This was not by far the first nor will it be the last. Gretchen? Anya? Irina? Can we go on????? It isn’t the end of the world, accept it and move on. It is clear from your rhetoric you have an axe to grind against the, as you put it “fat girl.” You could have used any number of other descriptions, but you chose one of the more insulting ones. You say “mustn’t insult the fat woman”, obviously what you really meant is they should have insulted her, because you do not approve. There are a number of other posters here on TT that have identified themselves as “plus size” but I guess that does not matter to you, as long as you can let loose with your mean spirited diatribe.

The brown background and cream colorer letters actually is much easier to read on my tablet.

I wondered if they gave Ashley the win as almost a politically correct, but throw away nod, in a season they felt had no really outstanding entries.

I thought each designer had some good looks and some near disasters. Not one look was really great from anyone. My favorite single piece was Candace’s final look, it was simple cutting and sewing. The fabric was the star, not the design. For me, it was the very first season, and I have watched them all, that I did not have a clear favorite in the end. Sometimes I have been torn, but by the time their final work has been shown on the runway, I am in love with one show. Not this year! The winner, Ashley, her signature look was a big ugly joke. The worst thing shown. Definitely a “costume”, and one no overwright woman would choose unless trying to draw attention in a parade.

Who says I’m not fat. Fat is an adjective, not an insult. I didn’t say roly poly blubbery cuntsatchel. People net to learn that. The stuff under your skin that is not epidermis, or muscle, or organs etc is fat. Ergo, if you have too much of it you are fat. Just like if you have excess muscle you are muscle-bound.

It actually makes more sense than the word skinny. You should really say fat-less.

I’d be more offended if I were called a crybaby. Take several seats and calm down. I’m not fat shaming anybody. That’s what ASHLEY did with her excuse of a collection.

The dreaded “F” words – Full-Figured, Fluffy, or Fat. And then there’s Obese, Morbidly Obese, & Super M. Obese. Unless TV added substantial weight to her frame, like it or not Ashley’s in the 2nd category. IMO, calling her “fat” is certainly not an insult. (According to fat acceptance groups, whose mission is to destigmitize the word fat & embrace it – it would be a compliment). 😉

Ashley’s collection was horrible, and yes, those hideous head pieces did seem bigger than ever. I totally agree that she was pre-chosen to win from the get go just because of her doing plus sized clothing. I would love to see her actually wear any of her pieces herself. Also, I think the camera work for the runway shows was terrible, especially Edmond’s.

I’m so unhappy with the winner of Project Runway that I am coming out of lurkdom.

I think Ashley makes a better florist than designer. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to wear any of her clothes. Plus -sized or not. I want to see Nina wear one of her outfits in public, since she thinks they are so worthy of winning.

And what was with having Carrie Underwood as a guest judge? What does she know about clothes? Can’t they get a real designer for the finale? I would have even preferred Kelly Osbourne as a judge.

If they wanted to have someone win who makes plus-sized clothes, they could have at least picked somebody with talent and who can sew and who can dress themselves decently. She should be using her own body as a walking billboard for her wares. For all I know, maybe she is. I can’t get that neon lime green skirt out of my brain. (Shudder)

As to her snottiness, makes me wonder if she was like that all season. Maybe that’s why none of the girls wanted her on their side for the team challenge. I also noticed, in last night’s show, that in her interviews, it seemed like she was wearing a different top almost every time. Maybe they had to keep interviewing her after the show to fill in the blanks. Who knows? I need to rewatch that to see if I imagined that. Unfortunately, I will have to rewatch it, because my friend hasn’t seen it yet.

I liked Ashley, and I applaud her for designing for plus size women, although those women were not what I think of as plus size. I liked a couple of her looks, but the whole collection was completely one note. How many cropped tops and skirts did she make this season? I think she might have problems making things fit through the torso so she avoids that with crop tops. And I hated her last look. You can see it anywhere in Mexico where they are wearing traditional garb. Not well designed at all – NOTHER CROP TOP! Did this girl design Scheana’s wedding crop top??? She is a good designer but I did not think she should have won. I loved Edmund’s collection, even the toilet paper dress. He is so talented and he makes clothes that women would love to wear. Plus he is totally cute. I liked Candice’s collection – well most of it. I think the reason she lost was because of the poor fitting leather dress that was just hanging on the model. Otherwise, I loved the red dresses and the leather evening gown, but she should have done more with it to make it a real show stopper. I think Kelly should have won. She stayed true to who she is. I might not wear everything she produced, but her inspiration was easy to see in her clothes. I loved all the glitter. I may be a little old for that, but I would buy a lot of her stuff for a teenage girl. I hope she does not give up. Oh well, on to Project Runway Junior.

The runway show was just meh this time around. I was pulling for Edmond he wanted to be on the show for so long and I really liked his creativity in the challenges. Maybe he can get Kenya to wear that white dress I could totally see her rocking it! I can’t believe fake flowers glued glued! on a skirt was acceptable for the win. It was just too obvious as they were prasing Ashley that she was the pre designated winner.

She made that poor girl look like a laughing stock. Damn, that was awful. As if showing off peoples back fat wasn’t bad ENOUGH…

I wanted Kelly to win. I don’t necessarily see her vision, but I liked her and she was Kelly to the end. I liked a lot of Edmond’s stuff and thought he should have won. I don’t understand Candice at all. In a way I am glad Ashley got to spit in the eye of everyone who ganged up on her in the team challenge and tried to get her auffed. I guess they knew the plus-sized thing was going to be hard to beat.

As a bigger girl (12-14) i get WHY Ashley’s win was so important, and the clothes were cute, a definite step in the right direction for plus size fashion…that being said…Kelly was robbed. While Ashley’s collection was cute, she still had fit issues and Kelly’s collection was very clean, the fits were set, and the styling was beat, she put together the BEST show and she should’ve won because of it. I think Nina SHOULD have offered to do a collection with Ashley even if she hadn’t won. But i am happy with Ashley’s win, it just feels a bit hollow when i thought Kelly did thismuch better. Someone SHOULD pick up Kelly’s line though, fanny pack and all. Edmonds dresses were great, they just looked like 2 sets, like one set was goin out and the other set was Stepping out…like to a ball. He rocked it, he’ll do fine regardless, i imagine any celebrity watching would love to get a dress designed from him, that finale black dress was awesome, i don’t care what the judges say. Candice….well, i actually think she should have kept ALL the madness cuz then she could’ve called it Avant garde and it would have been like ok, a tim Burton esque fashion bizarre, instead we got decent leather outfits on the runway. She should have listened to her voice that said go big,and to Tim who said refine, her show would’ve gone over better I think.

I had the pleasure of watching Project Runway for the very first time. Yeah, I know, I am way behind.
I had no preconceived ideas about the judges or format so it was all new to me and fun.

    Some observations:
It seemed like Nina and Heidi kind of went out of their way to disagree with each other sometimes. Like on purpose. A lot. Then shoot each other dirty looks.
    That was fun.
Zac Posen kind of has RSF. Resting Sneer Face.
Tim Gunn IS the show. Intelligent and sweet and really tried to mentor each designer.
I liked it when Swapnil set off Tim’s Piss-O-Meter.
For a man with such a good design eye, why does Tim wear all of his suits about 2 sizes too small? It kind of makes him look a little bit like PeeWee Hermans Grandfather.
It seem to me that the judges deliberately tried to undermine the confidence of both Edmond and Candace at the very end
Swapnil was a sensual, lazy louche. They don’t make ’em like that anymore.
    They should.

The last three sentences were the best.

Both Swapnil and Merlene showed at fashion week. You can find photos online. Swapnil clearly would have one if he had been able to work it out in the show. Merlenes looks were interesting and I can see people buying them. Without the time constraints she puts out nicely tailored outfits. I liked Marlene’s over candices. But for who stayed, I think Kelly should have won. Since Swapnil left, she became my favorite. I do think they chose Ashleigh for plus sized reasons. Oh well. I don’t think many winners produce big lines anyway or else I would be wearing a uli (spelling) dress right now.

About the new look, the reviews are mixed. Oddly both camps have to do with readability. Some say it is much easier to read, others say it is much harder.

For me I fall in the first group, or I would not have changed it. There were a lot of things with the previous header that drove me nuts that this changed has fixed. And it’s much easier to read. The contrast between brown and white (it’s not cream) is muc higher than the contrast between white and purple.

Here are things to try. First adjust the contrast settings on your device. Also for old people set your page to zoom to your reading glass prescription. I’ve recently had to graduate from 125% to 150% just like my readers. Or, you can put on your readers, or both.

    Hope this helps!

OH and even when I was relatively thin for my 5’9″ figure, I’d have to buy dress and tops in the fat department because I’ve had huge boobs since I was 11 (oh the grief that caused me in my middle school years, and the other sorts of issues it caused in high school) .

Anyway, I find all the various PC names confusing and insulting the WOAHman! Department, some places, Plus sizes other places and the unidentifiable PC names in fancy places. I always have asked for the Fat Girls department. You should see the sales associates stutter and inform me of the “correct name.” When I was a 14 I was also told by helpful associates that they don’t carry anything in my size when I went into a specialty shop. The fact I might be shopping for hats or shoes or purses seemed to escape them.

Now that I am legitimate well into plus sizes (thanks beer and menopause!) I still ask for the fat girls department. We’re fat. And we wear clothes. And apparently those clothes must be segregated to a whole nuther floor that “normal sizes” I feel like I should point that out to sales personnel Often by asking, “So where do you hide the clothes for fat people in this joint? If I am shopping with anyone (which I abhor) they are EXTREMELY embarrassed. I find that odd. Why must we all pretend I’m not fat? I have mirrors. Unfortunately. And fat people, more than anyone should remain in CLOTHES as much as possible.

Also, there was lots of controvery between the judges. I also read that Tim Gunn says there is too much competition between the judges. They try to make it all about their opinions.

With even Tim hating season 14, and crappy judges, ain’t no one happy but Ashley. I wonder what she ate to celebrate. Yes, that is legal, I am fat. (Not Ashley fat though.)

The judges were so phony to the other contestants, and it was obvious who was the pre-conceived winner. I am a “fat girl” and I would not wear one of Ashley’s outfits. In the beginning she mixed up prints in an interesting way, and those were the designs of hers I liked. And, for heavens sake, WTF was on the models heads? They each seemed to be wearing a flower pot, and none of them looked happy or proud of what they had on. The whole thing was just a fake. I’m very sorry for the others, you know they all worked very hard, too hard to get dumped as they were.

Dear Tamara…..I am really enjoying the color change for yet one more reason. Ever since you made the big move, I’ve had many problems with the new site. There was the commenting problems that led me to change my handle to AKA Riley. No problem. It was an easy fix. But unbeknown to you, I have been having trouble navigating the site. Had trouble scrolling the page. A lot of times I would not be able to go back to the home page when I finished a story and would end up closing out and starting over. Often the page would disappear in the middle of commenting. I didn’t complain because I thought it might be my PC. And since I didn’t see anyone else saying something similar, I just dealt with it. You obviously had so many hassles on your end and I didn’t want to be yet another one of your headaches. BUT NOW, for the first time, it is all working beautifully. I am going through the post and comments at lighting speed. I am well aware that making a couple of changes may have nothing to do with the much improved experience I am having on my end. Maybe it is a coincidence but GAWD! I hope it stays this way even if you change it back. And I do love the look. Here’s hoping you have a great weekend…..and thanks as usual for all your hard work, Hugs…

Edmund had a beautiful red carpet collection. I don’t expect rich white New Yorkers to get a voluminous gown, but I kept thinking how great Rhianna would look in those dresses at the Met Gala. He should have won.

I wanted Kelly to win so bad, I thought she deserved it, her stuff was so cute but I guess Ashley will sell more clothes on QVC. I feel like it was all set up and Ashley knew she was going to win, I didn’t like her attitude towards the end. What is wrong with the judges? That last look was the worst thing on the runway. Seriously? It just seemed they wanted a plus size designer so bad that it did not matter what she put out. They handled her with kid gloves all season.

When I saw the dress Candice made with the red on the bottom, I totally said it would make a great vampire dress, then Heidi said it was too halloween aha ha ha. I think Candice should do costumes for gothic/vampire movies, she would kill it. Edmund was good but it didn’t look new or edgy to me. I would rather have seen Swapnil’s collection. Huge disappointment for finale for me. I’m usually way off what the judges pick so I guess I’m not very fashionable. But for me Kelly’s looked like fabrics she found around the garage. Who wants fanny packs back not me. Candice made exactly what I expected leather, black gothic looks nothing unexpected for her. Edmonds clothes were the most wearable for average women but we’re not anything I hadn’t seen before except a couple pieces. As for Ashley the end dress everyone hated I liked. I think for the typical grown women we would not wear most of her clothes. I can see where she was going though it was designed for a younger hip girls who don’t have a sexy option in the plus world. A lot of clothes in these shows are modified for the regular consumer but I could see some of the curvier stars wearing some of her pieces for events. That being said I would have chosen Edmond I guess for the win becauhe understands what a woman wants to look like in her clothes. Subtly sexy and classy.

And as far as Ashley ‘s designs being for plus sized models; they seemed more like average sized woman. I always thought that plus sized women were bigger.
And although Kelly had some cool looks, they still looked quite cheap considering that each look cost approximately $1000 to make, yet looked like they could be purchased for under $50. Only Edmond and Candice’s clothes looked like they were worth approx $1000 a piece. Taking into consideration how much money that they had to work with for their final runway collections, they all looked cheap. Who would spend $1500-$2000 on any if Kelly or Ashley ‘s clothes. And again, why didn’t Ashley use actual plus sized models opposed to real sized women; plus sized they were not.
    Overall I was very unimpressed.

I forgot to add: how many winning designers resort to using GLUE, especially in the final runway show? If you can’t sew than you do not belong in the final runway show.
It’s unfortunate that we will probably never see anymore designers that are as talented as Christian Sirano (sp?) and he was fresh out of design school at the time that he competed on Project Runway. It’s no surprise that there have been very few PR competitors/ winners that have made it in the fashion world. The only two that I can think of off the top of my head are Christian and Michael Costello. There may be a few more, but none that I can think of nor any that have made it as big as those two have. Those two even dress celebrities for red carpet events.

You hit it on the nose again,Tamara! Agree 100%. I really hope Ashley doesn’t read all the comments on the Internet, because very few are in favor of her winning – if it makes her feel better to believe she was really the best one up there, then that’s OK, but there was an agenda this season to promote a designer with a full-figure collection. Ashley’s work was total crap compared to the other designers, but no matter how badly she constructed her clothes, she somehow managed to squeak by. Her lacy, belly revealing designs, along with short pants and see-through skirts are things that any plus-size women (of which I’m one) would never choose. Who wants their rolls and cellulite to show? The teal outfit was beautiful, but totally inappropriate for what a (let’s get real here) genuinely overweight fat lady would choose. A big woman wearing any of her collection pieces would be laughed at behind her back. Her plus-size models were definitely on the “chubbier” side compared to the other skinny models, but not super-size and don’t represent a very large percentage of the big lady market. I also don’t understand the remarks Heidi made about her collection being “cohesive” – of course it was cohesive, everything was made of similar materials and they almost all had those Carmen Miranda hats. Costumey? Absolutely! Cohesive yes, but not in a good way. Any of the other three contestants out-designed and out-constructed Ashley. I loved Candace’s collection – it looked very high-fashion, but they said she was trying to copy Alexander McQueen. So who was Ashley copying? Mexican ladies from the 1950’s? Hardly in great demand these days. They even said she shouldn’t have cut corners by gluing all the flowers on the final piece, instead of sewing them, yet that wasn’t held against her. Her zippers were horribly sewn, but that wasn’t held against her either. Edmund had some beautiful pieces, which were very well constructed and attractive, but they tore him apart. Kelly managed to take some basically very boring and rather cheap-looking clothes and glam them up. Even though I thought Candace could act and look like a total bitch, I thought the remarks addressed to her were particularly cruel, and she was completely blind-sided. Her clothes could have been shown on the runway in Paris, Rome or Milan and fit right in. The producers and judges of Project Runway should be ashamed of themselves for choosing Ashley -we’re not stupid and can see when the wool (or lace) is being pulled over our eyes.

I think it was all about timing for a plus size collection and Ashley auditioned at the right time. It seems popular now to campaign for anti discrimination for groups previously bullied. Fat shaming is not acceptable, but it is okay for every third magazine story to be somehow connected to living and eating healthy and anti fat.

I would bet in previous seasons they rejected auditions from really talented plus size designers because they did not want overweight women represented on Project Runway. Now, people get cudos for representing minorities or put down groups because being politically correct is a PR plus.

No one should ever be shamed for the way they look. However, its getting to a stage where people are trying to say it’s great to be fat! Yaaaay! And now everyone is too scared to say to someone, listen love, time to drop a few. I’m worried about you.

Fact of the matter: if excess fat is visible on your body to an extent it’s noticeible, chances are your heart is surrounded in an excess layer of it. This is not healthy. In no way. It cannot be surrounded in an excess layer of good fat. People can’t help skin colour, or height, or acne, or birthmarks, but don’t tell me I can’t be worried when my mother hits a size 20 and that I shouldn’t tell her to diet. Sorrynotsorry.

She didn’t even make sense to be inspired by Mexico City in the 1950s. Those flower headbands were embarrassing and her inspiration dress made the “plus size” model look twice her size. Every plus size woman knows you can’t wear that much gathered material without looking huge. Ashley did not design for me.

This was the worst Season of Project Runway. Ashley was over-rated the entire time and I still say the Kodak picture dress was too artsy craftsy, lol. The Season made feel like it was pre-determined on the plus size win. The rest were just not that talented. I left it thinking I won’t watch next time. I probably will though. Wonder what the real reason they hated Candace was? She really should have wooden hatted the damn thing. I gave the win to Edmund.
