Flash Forward
Wes and Laurel are trying to stop Michaela and Connor as they leave the mansion. Stop them from what? Getting help? Going to the police? We don’t know. But we do know that Wes has a gun in his hands. So maybe he shot Annalise?
Present Day
Wes is getting dressed when he discovers Levi’s gun hiding in his dresser.
Back at the house the interns are digging up information about the Hapstall cousin, Philip. He seems to be a gaming loner with very few actual friends. Annalise wants the motive to be more than just about the money he would gain to inherit.
At the hospital, Nate is packing up his wife’s belongings and chatting up Nia’s nurse. Then in walks some random chick who serves him with papers. Sinclair wants to test Nia’s blood because she thinks her death was not a result of natural causes. I am happy to report that Annalise did NOT give Nate the pills to kill his wife. So where dos Nate get the pills? My guess is that cute nurse he was talking chatting up.
Annalise rushes over to Nate’s house to talk to him. Only it is Eve who answers his door!!! Eve is back in town, bitches!!!! Eve is going to defend Nate again and try to get it thrown out. Eve tells Annalise that she can’t be around Nate until after the trial.
Bonnie can’t stand to be around Asher now that she knows about the gang rape at Trotter Lake. Asher swears he didn’t rape the girl. He claims he was downstairs drunk when it was all going on. Bonnie doesn’t care. She holds Asher responsible.
Procedural Case of the Week
Annalise is defending a man who is being accused of causing his ex-wife’s new husband to commit suicide. Dale still stalks his ex wife, Sharon. This dude is creepy as hell and insists that his ex-wife still wants him. Delusional:party of one!
At the trial the 911 call from the husband, Marco is played. Marco claims that he is jumping off the roof because of “him”. The prosecutor claims that Marco was referencing Dale because Dale is a crazy stalker who was trying to ruin his life. In the end Laurel did some great investigating was able to help Annalise prove that the prosecutor and Sharon have been having an affair. Marco found out and committed suicide. Bam! And just like that, the case is closed and we can move on to more important stuff!
Laurel wanted recognition from Annalise for finding the evidence that won the case, but Annalise isn’t about giving kudos and high fives. Instead, she tells Laurel that if she doesn’t have to step in and provide direction, then she is doing a good job. No feedback should be taken as good feedback.
Meanwhile, the interns are still investigating Philip. Frank calls in Oliver to bail them out again. Connor is upset with Frank because he doesn’t want Oliver helping out on this case. Actually, he just doesn’t want Oliver to get trapped in the web that is Annalise. Oliver however, doesn’t know how crazy that house is. He thinks it’s way cooler to work for Annalise than to be some IT guy sitting behind a desk. Oliver uses his computer expertise to prove that Philip was in town the night of the Hapstall murders. Michaela discovers that there was DNA at the crime scene that didn’t match anyone involved. So now they just need to figure out a way to get Philip’s DNA and come up with a match. Annalise shuts down Frank’s idea of breaking into Phillip’s house to get a DNA sample. This is unusual, because we all know she never really cares how she gets her evidence as long as she wins the case.
After Eve and Nate are able to swap out his wife’s blood sample, the test results so no evidence of foul play to the charges against Nate are dropped. Apparently, Nate was able to convince the sympathetic nurse to swap out Nia’s blood samples before they went to the lab. Later, Eve and Annalise meet up at Eve’s hotel room to celebrate. Eventually, Eve asks Annalise what the nature of their close relationship is. At first Eve thinks they might have a sexual relationship. Annalise tells Eve, “it’s him” and Eve seems to understand. Is Wes really Annalise’s son that she gave up for adoption early in her relationship with Sam? Or is there some other connection? One thing is for sure their relationship can be kind of creepy for a mother, son situation.
The interns continue to plot to get their hands on some of Philip’s DNA. Oliver made a fake profile on a gay dating site, using Connor’s picture. The flaw in this plan is that Phillip’s computer skill’s rival Connor’s and on the last episode, we saw Phillip had control of Connor’s webcam, with audio and he know they are on to him and he knows what they look like. Connor is pissed with the entire plan and tries to put a stop to it, but once he realizes that Oliver used his picture because “he’s hotter” Connor eventually decides to go on the coffee date. Frank, Laurel and Michaela will be staked outside of the coffee shop to keep an eye on things.
Asher and Bonnie finally hash it out. Bonnie is pissed that Asher didn’t do anything to stop what happened at his party at Trotter Lake. Instead, Asher called his Dad and his Dad covered it all up. Bonnie wants Asher to realize that the girl’s life has never been the same since and that no money or talking about it will ever make it better. Bonnie can no longer look at Asher the same. Asher tells Bonnie that he knows that she feel so strongly because of what’s happened to her. That’s when Bonnie realizes that Asher knows about her childhood. Oh no! So the tape Annalise showed Asher is of Bonnie. How awful!
Annalise comes home from a night with Eve to discover a drunk and upset Bonnie. Bonnie is pissed that Annalise told Asher about her childhood. Bonnie says Annalise doesn’t know how to love anyone but herself. Bonnie hates her and wishes that it was Annalise who they had killed and not Sam.
Is it safe to say that it will probably be Bonnie who shot Annalise?!? I absolutely agree that it was not Annalise’s place to tell Asher anything. However, if she hadn’t Bonnie would probably be sitting in jail somewhere because Asher would have made the plea deal with Sinclair.
Back at the stake out Laurel calls Annalise to tell her what is going on. Annalise calls Frank and demands that they shut it all down and go home before she calls the police herself. Connor is relieved and texts Oliver that he is alive and will be home soon. Oliver is shown heading back to their apartment with groceries. We see someone follow Oliver into his apartment. It’s Philip!!!! They aren’t going to kill Oliver off are they? Connor will not be able to handle that! Poor, innocent, sweet Oliver! This is exactly why Connor didn’t want Oliver getting mixed up in all of their drama.
Flash Forward
The final flash forward we see Laurel and Wes running after Michaela and Connor to stop them. Just then Sinclair’s body lands on the ground in front of Michaela. Bonnie is standing at the top of the roof looking down!
Next week we learn #WhoShotAnnalise!!!! What a crazy episode. What are y’all’s thoughts? It seems that pretty much everyone has a reason to want to shoot Annalise!
Thank goodness for your re-caps or I’d be lost!
I know! I watch the episodes, but I need these recaps to make sure that it is all straight in my head. Thanks for the recap!
Maybe Connor shot annalise in revenge for oliver being hurt or murdered! I agree if wes is her son it’s creepy
Thanks for the recap- I always like to make sure I haven’t missed anything. Poor Oliver- please let freaky loner guy hurt him!!!! No. No. No.
I really do not want to see Oliver go….NO
You put the A in amazing!!!
I am so lost. I have watched every episode but who is Phillip??
Phillip is a biological cousin to the Hapstall’s. He may have committed the murders to collect inheritance. He has been snooping via web cam on the groups conversations about the case. They were trying to trap him to get a DNA sample to test against some at the crime scene. He is steps ahead of their plan and has surprised Oliver in his apartment. He may be a wacko seriel killer.
Thank you
Sidenote: scandal is lame this season no?
Watching now
….. oh my goodness. Cannot wait for your recap!!!!!!!! Oliver!!!!!
