I am actually looking forward this Manzo’d With Children episode. Oh wait. It’s TWO HOURS and they are on WWHL tonight. I’ll have to wait on WWHL until tomorrow. Two hours is really pushing the fucking limits. I don’t think any housewife got a two hour wedding did they? Maybe Tamra, I think hers might have been in two parts. To go from half an hour a week to TWO HOURS is a lot. Caroline is clearly a great negotiator with Bravo.
After that recap of the Real Housewives of Orange County Reunion, I’m as brain dead as they are, so I’m going to be sparse with my comments and actually try to watch a little of the show while looking at the TV instead of the laptop.
CATCH UP ON ALL THE MANZO’D WITH CHILDREN RECAPS HERE!
Okay so this so far is two of the half hour shows. I’m not sure how the ratings were for this show but they couldn’t have been great because they are dumping out three of four weeks of show here in one night. I took an ice cream break while watching until we got to the day of the wedding.
That morning, Greggy Bennett starts popping the champagne. That’s just one more reason to love him. Lauren’s grandpa arrives holding his dress shirt in his hand, topless with suspenders on. In other random news, filming is almost over so Britanny will not longer be playing the role of Albie’s girlfriend. At least Chris doesn’t try that hard to convince us he likes girls.
Caroline says she is wearing a white gown to the wedding because Lauren asked her to. So y’all need to get over it. Lauren’s dress is gigantic and she looks beautiful. I love everything from the hair to the dress. Her daddy is so emotional, it’s heartwarming. I knew Caroline would be, but Albert is just adorable.
On the limo ride to the wedding, Lauren stops to get White Castle. I love it. Meanwhile, the guys are crammed into a weirdly designed limo. I support that stop. It’s hours until she will be able to eat.
She invited 390 guests to her wedding. She got caught in traffic on the way to church. This is the first time Lauren has freaked out. She arrives five minutes after the wedding is supposed to start. That is nothing. I’ve never been to a wedding that started right on time. Dina arrives looking lovely. I love the church. I am addicted to catholic churches. I must have been a nun in a previous life. Shut up. It might have happened.
Vito is crying as he walks his parents down the aisle but not as much as his Dad who is blubbering. The wedding was so lovely, and Lauren’s veil was literally the most beautiful veil I’ve ever seen. Truly stunning.
On to the Brownstone for the reception. Those 400 guest got kind of swallowed up in that huge cathedral, but at the Brownstone, the place is packed. The wedding party itself is huge. Melissa and Joe Gorga are there. When the newlyweds’ arrive there is no one there to help her get out of the car in her big wedding dress.
When Lauren danced with her daddy, everyone cried, especially her daddy. And well, me. Such a sweet moment. I love that Lauren wore that gorgeous wedding dress to the reception. I hate when people change. You only change when you are leaving into your honeymoon traveling clothes. The reception was elegant. The cake was elegant. There was no drunken crap. There was no dollar dance shit. There was no twerking. It was a classy wedding like they used to be. I’m very impressed with Caroline.
Then again the camera didn’t linger. Again, Caroline clearly set firm limits. The last 45 minutes are back in the family house with all the kids. It seems that Vito and Lauren spent the night in a nice hotel. Then they come home to Caroline’s and move in with her until they can save enough money to move out.
Well hell. I should have known, half an hour of this was for WWHL. I’ll go make that a separate post.
I cried from the time Lauren gave Caroline the gift she purchased for her in Italy until the end. Lauren was a beautiful bride *and* that veil really was outstanding; loved that she stopped at White Castle on the way. I haven’t missed an ep of this show (never thought I’d say that) and enjoyed every moment of it!
Im a hop skip and jump away from NJ and a lot of my friends grew up and moved there, TT, so I get a LOT of scoop. Chris doesnt try very hard to convince us that he likes girls.. thats true. He’s quite Hetero and doesnt need to convince anyone. Albie, on the other hand, is fighting an internal battle. Maybe Albie thinks if he says it enough times, he will start believing it. “I like women, I like women.” I feel bad for the kid because he cant come to terms with who he is. Girls who dated him have said that he was completely asexual, never tried anything beyond 2nd base. But, he used to light up like an xmas tree everytime Greggy walked in the room. Two of his Mom’s brothers are gay. I hope he can live his truth one day.. and be happy.
I loved this. Sounds like a very classy, old fashioned reception.
It may be the wine I drank on your behalf, T, (you can thank my liver later) but I am a laughing, teary mess!
What a beautiful wedding and reception… their family’s love is pretty awesome, and a Bravo show where the biggest controversy is that the mother in law might become slightly pushy about wanting grandchildren, and time with her son. No biggie… Lauren can handle that. (Plus, I think she hit the jackpot with the father in law, based only on his crying down the aisle)
Oh, that grandpa. I miss mine.
Beautiful recap. I didn’t get to see the show yet, but it sounded absolutely lovely. I adore traditional ceremonies/receptions, and have a super soft spot for dances with dad. Love to see brides and their fathers…I just hope my grampie is still around to give me away if/when I do get married. Congrats to lauren and vito.
Lauren and Carolyn both looked absolutely beautiful in this episode. I did not think I would enjoy seeing more of the Manzos but this show proved me wrong. When, oh when are those two boys going to find themselves?
Lauren looked beautiful. Loved the dress, especially the veil. Yes, agree it was nice she didn’t change into another dress (remember Kim Z. – silly and waste of time and money). The reception was perfection. I wish Lauren and Vito much happiness.
Thanks for the recap, TT. This season of the Manzos was very entertaining. Good. light-hearted family fun. And the wedding was beautiful. I have never seen a more exquisite lace veil. I do hope there will be another season and that Chris’ book is a huge success.
Classic…elegant…timeless. Those are my adjectives for the wedding & the reception. Albert & Caroline were both proud parents as were the Scalia’s. Dina looked gorgeous, but did I miss her daughter? I saw Ashley. Albert was precious with the love he showed for both Lauren & Caroline. Nothing negative to say at all.
Hey Folks, Wasn’t that great? I mean every single moment. I laughed and I cried and I felt so good throughout the entire hour and a half. After that horrible RHOOC crap, it felt very nice to watch these people. Not only was Dad’s tears such an ahhhh moment, how about those brothers Albie and Chris, wiping away tears during the wedding? Beautiful family and a beautiful wedding. It was fun, even for the viewers. BUT RHOOC….Manzos, one end of the spectrum. The reunion, total opposite end of the spectrum. Watching it was NOT fun. Hell, I could not even watch all of it. It was the absolute worse thing I have even seen by Bravo…And I have watched a lot of “Shit by Bravo”.
Loved this episode and the ones that came before it. It’s so nice to see happiness and caring and not people screaming at each other, throwing tables, or getting into bitch fights. People caring for one another, trips to beautiful places, and this elegant wedding filled with love and sweet moments. Al and the dance, Vito tearing up down the aisle, the brothers as well, and of course the stop at White Castle (loved that)…. Now this is more of the ‘reality’ I’d love to see. Lauren was stunning, so was Caroline. Beautiful all around!
One can tell Bravo had nothing to do with the wedding planning. Lovely gown. So nice to see a pretty not slutty bride.
I am not normally a fan of the family or their show. I did enjoy everything as the wedding got closer. Things seemed more sincere as opposed to the adult boys repeatedly being coddled and trying to find themselves, and Lauren looking for imperfections.
The wedding and reception was perfect. Huge, expensive, but so tasteful. They should know how to do it right, being in that biz.
I figured out why Lauren and Caroline have been wearing strapless rompers and hair buns all over the globe. No tan lines wanted for their strapless wedding dresses.
