I feel like I am in this story too deep to get out now, y’all. Not as deep as TMZ following every burp and word uttered. But I feel like I should hit he highlights, as reported by TMZ.
So today’s news is quite remarkable actually. Lamar is off dialysis and has moved into a regular room on the physical therapy floor! I saw Dr. Drew on Wendy (I know, I know, but we have to take information where we can get it on this one) say that he thought they media was making a bigger deal out of the kidneys than was necessary and they would probably pull through, and he was right. Also Lamar never stopped breathing, or if he did it was for a very short time so there should not be severe brain damage. It looks like Lamar will need some physical and speech therapy, and he may not be 100% ever again, but it’s looking like he will probably get out of the hospital much faster than the months we initially expected.
In other news, now that Lamar is out of his coma, he is able to make all of his medical decisions as well as decide who makes his visitor list. I mentioned in comments on another post this morning that Lamar’s father has not been allowed in to see him since Lamar regained consciousness. He was interviewed outside the hospital after being turned away recently and it was quite sad. His dad didn’t seem to be incapacitated by any drugs at the time. He seemed to think Khloe was the reason he was turned away, but that is not the case. I hope that he continues to blame Khloe because the truth would be even more painful. I actually think Khloe would encourage him to see his father. Although his dad did say that he as been staying in Vegas for a while and while there he saw Lamar every day. It’s unclear whether he was referring to him being in the hospital there or if he was referring to prior to Lamar’s overdose. I sort of got the impression it was before he was hospitalized.
It’s sort of a good news, bad news situation, because if Lamar gets out on his own soon, and is not in some sort of rehab setting, he might be headed right back down the same road. Let’s hope this was his wake-up call.
