Jim Edmonds interviewed with CBS Sports Radio 920 in St. Louis on the day before the Real Housewives of Orange Country reunion filmed about the Cardinals great season this year. At the end of the interview he was asked about the RHOOC and how he was portrayed. After he tried to deny that he was the husband we saw on TV, he had some interesting things to say about Meghan.
First the guys asked Jim if he was irritate by the way he was portrayed on the show. Jim said, “You know what. That is me. But the reason you kind of see me stand-offish is I was so damn irritated by the filming and the long hours and my wife being used and abused. And me flying back in forth. And the kids’ situation (with their mother dying). When there’s cameras around and things aren’t going smoothly and there is one camera, they might miss it but when there’s three cameras, they see your emotions come out and even if they’re wrong, they’re raw. I’ve been told in the past…they kind of use the guy-girl relationship…the guys always kind of look bad. I have to own it. That’s me. But that’s not how I treat my wife. She’s amazing. I am going to the reunion so I can stand out in front of the world and say, ‘hey listen, that wasn’t me. That’s not how I treat my wife.’ Every couple fights. They catch you on TV, that’s just the way it goes.” So he says, “That’s me, and then that wasn’t me.” If you listen to the interview he seems to be saying he’s only like that sometimes and that is the footage that Bravo chose to use.
“I did not understand what I was getting myself in to as far as the amount of sitting around.” Jim talks about waiting for the crew sitting around inside his house to tell him what they wanted from each scene. “When you are sitting around your house with seven people trying to get you to do random things because it is not scripted, it gets irritating. We’ll see when the reunion comes out, how I respond.”
“To me, the way I try to describe it to my wife we don’t need the money …those girls need that drama because they need that show to survive. We don’t need that. My wife was hoping that this would lead to her being a spokesperson or take up modeling again and turn it in to something positive. She wants to make a career for herself.” Did he really say turn it into something positive? He also talked about the Brooks thing from the standpoint that Brooks does have cancer, despite his wife’s screeching to the contrary. He tries to explain Meghan ridiculous meddling by saying that Meghan was very involved with wife number two’s cancer. She was trying to get her in to see other doctors and she would not go. She was pissed that Brooks was being handed all of these fantastic doctors and not taking advantage of everything he was offered. Gee, I guess he should make is medical decisions on the basis of whether or not Meghan Edmonds, who he may have met twice, might feel.
At the very end of the interview, Jim says that they don’t need the money like all the other girls on the show, and then he says “we’re going to go after it for another year or two” making it clear that he has agreed to let Meghan do two more years, because she is getting a lot of offers from companies offering her stuff. Not television stuff but businesses stuff according to Jim. He ends by saying, “Hopefully my wife will turn into like that girl in New York and invent SkinnyGirl Vodka and make $100 million dollars.”
Meghan Edmonds will be the death of RHOOC. The problem is that Andy Cohen is a huge Cardinals fan. I don’t see him firing his friend’s wife. This is not great news.
