Ladies of London Blog Round Up

Ladies of London S2 Ep3 Onsie

There don’t seem to be any RHOOC blogs up this week except for one from Heather pushing her skin creams. On the Ladies of London front, the primary topics are #HumpGate, #YogaGate  and Caroline Stanbury’s  unpleasant disposition in general.  I’ve sort of grouped there questions together and added some purple pen.

Bravotv.com: Tell us about the pressure of the Gift Library and hearing Rania say that people think you don’t care about the success of it.

Caroline Stanbury: Gift Library was my absolute baby, I had built it from nothing by myself. Like with most things I internalise my feelings and put up these barriers, I’m sorry if everyone thinks that it’s cold but I almost go into a shell and have to make sure I come back out fighting.

If by, “I built it from nothing by myself” you mean you got a lot of people to give you a lot of money and you used that money to hire people to do the work for you and tell you how things are going as your designed your office then yes, yes you built it from nothing all by yourself. dana-carvey-church-lady

Bravotv.com: You went to Caroline Stanbury for self-confidence — did you get what you were looking for from your business talk?

Julie Montagu: Not really. When someone tells you, “You don’t have a brain,” it doesn’t help one’s self confidence. So I walked away actually feeling really bad about myself and not very confident in my business JUB. I guess her comment to me was funny to her, so at least someone walked away feeling good about themselves. Oh well.

First, thank you for saying JUB and not JUB balls.  Secondly, you do have to be smart to run a business and you need to be careful who you take advice from. Caroline Stanbury is not the one to mentor you.  You have to have self-confidence and not rely on others to bolster your confidence.

Bravotv.com: What were your thoughts on Julie’s business pitch and your meeting?

Caroline Stanbury:  I was super impressed by Julie’s business pitch, she was super organised but I needed to take time out and concentrate on trying to save my own business. As much as I wanted to help her and be there for her, I wanted her to learn from the mistakes I had made.

Um, she hasn’t gotten anywhere close to making the mistakes you’ve made. And in order for her to avoid them, she would have to know what they were. And we’ve never seen you admit a single mistake you’ve made so far.

Bravotv.com: Why do you think the ladies seem, in Julie’s words, afraid of Caroline Stanbury and don’t stand up to her?

Annabelle Neilson: You know, the truth is I don’t really know why they all seem so intimidated but I think it may be that Caroline put’s the girls down in a sort of passive aggressive way but with a laugh and a smile…so they feel this subtle kind of hurt and then they get scared!! Also Caroline does have bubbles, Sophie and Caroline Fleming as well as an up and down fire ball in Juliet – sort of as these little pawns and she can use them when in need, to back her up…

Bravotv.com: Tell us about being on the receiving end of Caroline’s yoga comments at NYE dinner. What did you think of her apology?

Julie Montagu: Yoga is a major part of my life, so when someone makes fun of you again (first it’s that I have no brain and now this), it makes me feel like I’m not really good at anything I do in Caroline’s eyes. I didn’t feel that her apology was very sincere — I don’t think she cared very much that she hurt me. In fact, I really don’t think Caroline cares at all what she says or does to me. She thinks it’s all just very funny. And this is where we’re different — I would never ever make fun of her and her businesses. Ever.

To quote a wise Dutch woman, “Who in dis world is Caroline Stanbury?” Why on earth is her opinion important to you? Of course her apology was not sincere. She is NOT your friend.  You are a nice person and she is an entitled snot.

Bravotv.com: Did you think your comments at dinner were a dig to Julie? What were you thinking when Julie reacted the way she did?

Caroline Stanbury: Clearly I didn’t think they were a dig at Julie. There were two drunk women at the end of the table doing headstands, you can hardly take that seriously.

You do have a point there.

Bravotv.com: Tell us about #Humpgate and Juliet’s reaction to the incident and the “winding up” later in the evening.

Sophie Stanbury: As I had drunken way too much champagne I honestly believed that Humpgate was a joke and I hadn’t realized how seriously Juliet was taking it until the last part of the night when I was winding here up. If I had had less to drink and was more aware of her feelings then I would not have wound her up as much. I still believe it was all a joke as we were all drinking and dressed up but I would not ever intentionally go out to hurt or upset someone.

Bravotv.com: What do you think of Caroline Stanbury’s retraction of her apology?

Annabelle Neilson: I think it’s stupid, ungracious, unnecessary and wrong. She knows damn well it meant a lot to Jules and the way it looks is that Caroline doesn’t want to look weak or that she’s lost some silly row with Jules.

Bravotv.com: Tell us about the lunch with Juliet and Julie. Are you surprised Juliet was upset that Julie told you about her conversation with Caroline? Why did you say you thought Julie was lying?

Annabelle Neilson:Well, I got a call from Jules asking me to come meet with her and Juliet. I was told by Jules that Juliet was really scared and wanted to know if I would back her up if it all kicked off again with Caroline. Jules told me that Caroline had said that she would ruin Juliet’s name and social life in London, which quite honestly made me laugh but I went because Jules asked me and I also wanted Juliet not to feel scared. But then she denied it happened. For me as really more of a bystander to both the girls’ issues, it seemed obvious that Juliet was not telling the truth and that’s how it looked to me. I think Juliet at that moment was scared and didn’t want to go with Jules against Caroline. I think Jules wanted Juliet’s back up and obviously mine, but I think they all need to start standing up for themselves if they want this situation for them individually to change. Find your inner pitbull and stop being a pawn…

Absolutely! These ladies need to stand up for themselves, don’t you think?

I know I will be put in the corner, but honestly, there is a Caroline S in every crowd- at least if you have a crowd worth a shit. Revised: if you have a new crowd attempting to merge with an old crowd. Being in the midst of ‘wine country’ in Ca, I get this social climbing bullshit. She and her sister in law were hilarious. Who really cares if someone is trying to hump your husband- unless you have insecurities. She was in a onsie, and he had his legs crossed, in a suit. So, there it is. As a mature, well oiled woman, this scandal is bs. Caroline is adding the English fodder we need, and why we watch.

I like Caroline S.’s snarky humor – it comes the closest to a villainess on this show, which adds interest and balance (and she makes me laugh at times). The fact that her business fails is just adding interest to her ‘character.’ I find that I am liking Annabelle better this season, and am seeing her as more than McQueen/horses as the season progresses. I think Juliet made too big a deal out of humpgate, but I do like what she brings to the show, too. Somehow, I think that Caroline Fleming and Yolanda from RHOBH could/would be friends – similar sunny dispositions, on the surface at least. I wish the RH franchises could be more like L.O.L. (an acronym which is, of course, funny, literally & figuratively).

I completely agree with you “gluedtothepc”! I think you get what you get when you choose friends like Caroline S. You can’t expect her to be a nurturing type friend, its not gonna happen. If you feel like having a laugh and being snarky, great she is your gal. You also have to let her type of humor roll off your back. Love this show and I do like Annabelle this season, last season she annoyed me.

I have been reading about and following Caroline S. for a long time via three British magazines (Hello, OK and Heat). She has always been known as a bit of a wannabe aristocrat and a social climber with a mean streak. I don’t like any of these women and find them all pretentious or stupid. Juliette and Marissa are by far the worst and they really are typical of the worst of the social climbing American ex-pats in London. I don’t find this show interesting at all and only watch when I have absolutely nothing else going on. Their fights are so trivial that I wonder if they have any self-awareness at all or any awareness of the world outside of their fractured circle. Bravo needs new material because it seems as if all of their shows are falling apart and losing viewers. Maybe it’s time for Andy Cohen to go and take his concepts with him? He hasn’t had a good idea in many years.

Production must have told Caroline to up the bitch factor this season.. She was my absolute favorite last season. But now I find myself liking her less and less each episode. She’s become this insufferable mean girl. I still think she can be funny at times but definitely not as likable as before.

I am SO over Julie’s fragile ego. I mean really, crying because Caroline said the yoga teacher got her legs up last? It’s a true observation. Sure it was snarky but that’s Caroline’s brand. Julie should admit she drank too much that night and was being sensitive, and move the F on.

Julie and Juliet seriously need to put Caroline S in her place.

Yes, I do think they need to stand up for themselves. I also have a hard time understanding why they care so darned much.

    Love your purple pen! Thanks.
