Well, Mel proposed to Vanessa in the hotel room right before the after party. And there were all sorts of shenanigans at the after party.
Click through for photos…
The after party must not have been filmed this year. I can’t find a much.
Until next year Big Brother fans…
It looked like a crazy fun night for the house guests to end their summer.
Too many otherwise nice pics were photo bombed by the pink tipped brother. I appreciate you not including those in your photo blog.
Mel must have planned to propose when she expected that Vanessa was going to win Big Brother and wanted to make a “spectacle” of it to salvage Vanessa’s reputation as drugged up manic hot mess. I’m not that stupid about this obvious ploy. Then Vanessa loses, and yet she still proposes to Vanessa, probably hoping for the same effect to make Vanessa look normal. The GF has now joined the ranks of famewhoredom.
I had the same thought as Urethra and wondered if I was just full of sour grapes. I am very much not a fan of Vanessa. I’m glad to know it isn’t just me.
I think the proposal was premeditated by them both.
I wonder how much in side bets Vanessa or her friends lost on her.
Vanessa showed her true colors in every interview too-this was not a character she played for the game. Steve was so much more adult than she. Her GF sounded off to critics of her cheating, bullying, bribing tactics in poker mags blaming “haters for being jealous of her genius”. Needless to say she was trounced by commenters. Hope their 15 minutes are up.
The twins kissing Jace while Austin glared was my favorite (of course).
I first learned of Vanessa because of the late, great poker champ, Chad Brown, who died of cancer after several years of trying to beat it, in 2014. Chad and Vanessa were at least 20 years apart in age, fell in love and married in 2009, a couple of years before cancer hit him. The marriage lasted only a few years, as the two circuited the world playing poker tournaments. He was a fantastic boon to the poker world because people loved him. Congenial, magnetic, very smart, one helluva man. Vanessa was with him throughout his illness, even after they divorced. Never one bad word came out of their mouths about each other, the reason for their divorce was never stated, but most friends understood that he wasn’t going to survive and that the two parted because it was the best way for them to handle things, to let go and yet to remain close. Chad and Vanessa didn’t end their relationship with their divorce, and she helped care for him even when he went into hospice care. It seems to me that Mel was a godsend for Vanessa, who has helped bring her out of the dark pits of heartache and grief, someone who loves and understands her and the one who Vanessa has found the courage to love back. I wish the two of them a long life of happiness, music and mutual attunement. No matter what so many cynical cans of sardines people want to throw, plenty of very bright, creative individuals cope with mental or emotional instability. A lot don’t survive the pain. You have to lose a lot to win this game.
Vanessa learned to play poker as a teenager and began to earn money that way online. When she first entered live tournaments, she used to slam cards, shriek and cry but was good at the game. No doubt Chad Brown led by example and helped her find her much needed “poker face.” He made a big amount of prize money and was very popular in the poker world among fellow players and the audience. In a lot of ways, you could say that Chad was like the Will Rogers of the early poker boom. From New York city, he had the looks, the optimistic spirit, the full bill of goods. An unforgettable Leo mega-ray of sunshine.
You know a lot about Vanessa. Curious are you close? I have read you speak about her a lot. A lot of very personal detailed information so just wondering if you were willing to share your close connection?
Ha ha…and then Austin finally getting his wish to grab some last minute air time by forcing Liz to shave his face.
Didn’t see Audrey, but now she is blonde and harder to spot.
I’ve been trying to read how everyone reacts to how America perceive them.
Liz said she thought she would be America’s favorite and was shocked that America hated Liztin and their relationship. But they will live in for a little while. She was also shocked people hated Vanessa.
Have you guys read about others?
Agree that Vanessa endured a helluva a lot.
As did a Bethenny.
And others ~

Giant whirling schoolhouse, the earth, so why bother measuring the size of everyones’ tailor- made wounds and wake up calls? The toughest nuts to open are the ones who run around saying “I’ m fine! Everything is great! See how great I am?!” Hitler comes to mind. Then there are guys like Austin, who looks like a sensitive man but was so delusional about how very popular he and the twins were on Big Brother, right up until he met the audience face-to- to face. Not likening Austin Matelson to Adolf here, just little nuts to big nuts. Hail to all of us half-crazies!
Ewww a pic with Christine…yuck. Forgot about her. Jmac looks like he had fun! He looks so cute next to Becky in that pic. Congrats to Vanessa. It looked like a fun party. It was weird to me how much the twins kind of looked like Rachel when they all stood together. Good for Steve. Glad he won it all. I still have not had time to watch the episode but I hope at some point this week I can!
