American Horror Story: Hotel premieres on FX on October 7th. In addition to the arrival of Lady Gaga as a central character, you will also see, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Matt Bomer, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Wes Bentley, Chloë Sevigny, Finn Wittrock, Denis O’Hare, Cheyenne Jackson and Max Greenfield.
Lady Gaga plays a Countess and a socialite who owns Hotel Cortez. The Countess it seems has an insatiable appetite for blood and sex. Matt Bomer plays Donovan and Finn Wittrock plays Tristan. Both character’s share the Countess’s love for blood and sex making for a vampire’s love triangle of sorts. Ryan Murphy stops short of calling them vampires, but they’re vampires nonetheless despite the lack of fangs involved.
Donovan, who has been with the Countess in some capacity for two decades would like to settle into a less hypersexual, monogamous relationship. Tristan, as the new young buck, is somewhat of a thorn in Donovan’s side.
Kathy Bates plays Donovan’s mother and she is also the front desk manager for the Hotel. She’s very overprotective of Donovan.
Angela Bassett plays Ramona Royale this season. Ramona is an actress with a past with the Countess. Ramona is set to be the primary nemesis of the Countess.
Wes Bentley plays a relatively normal police detective, John Lowe, who is trying to solve a series of murders by the Ten Commandments Killer. He moves into the hotel to pursue his investigation. His wife is a pediatrician named Alex played by Chloe Sevigny’s Alex. Their relationship is a bit rocky, not just because he hunting a serial killer but always due to some tremendous loss they have recently suffered.
Evans Peters plays Mr. March the person who built the hotel in the 1930s. As is often the case, the series will shift back and forth between the 1030s and the present time. Mr. March has been described as “sadistic” and designed the hotel specifically to accommodate his sadistic nature.
Sarah Paulson plays a junkie who lives in the hotel. She takes a liking to the cop. Although there is a male junkie named Gabriel in the hotel as well, played by Max Greenwell. Naomi Campbell plays a Vogue editor who is inexplicably staying at the hotel.
As much as I want to watch this show, I have a feeling it will be a bit to much for my wimpy disposition. Hopefully we will be getting some thoughts on the show from Urethra Franklin, AHS expert on this upcoming season.
