Thanks again to @Ericzku for updating us on what happened on DWTS last night. Please follow him on Twitter by clicking here. Four hours of recapping one show in two days is a bit much. Thankfully, next week I think we are back to one show a week. I love that he keeps us updated. One thing I read is that Bruno told Kim, ” We all like the new Kim, refitted and all ready to go. …It’s like when you reupholster a sofa,” regarding her moderate improvement this week.
Eric was not nearly as impressed. Read on for his comments on Kim and the elimination portion of the show.
Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Tony Dovolani
Tonight, we continue with the “Hometown Glory” theme, and we get to hear about the dance professional’s hometowns. Tony tells us that he was born in Kosovo and lived there until age 15. He says that dance was his escape while growing up in a war-torn country. Kim tells us that she is starting to feel more comfortable and she wants to do well “for Tony” because he’s such an incredible teacher.
Kim and Tony appear on stage in gray outfits. They’ve lit the atmosphere in intense red, producing a striking, visually pleasing red-and-gray tableau. All the better to distract us from the mediocrity of our featured “star”, I suppose.
Oh, Kim. Gray is NOT your color. They say the camera adds 10 pounds; this dress has added another 15. Kim and Tony begin their Foxtrot. Kim has lost a little of the clunkiness that she had before, but she remains stiff and a bit…hesitant…I guess is how I’d describe it. Like she’s not sure she really wants to do this. Once again, Tony does 90% of the work. Kim’s “dancing” looks more like: walking backward, then walking forward, then turning around in place. Period.
Score: 18
Elimination:
Two couples are in jeopardy: Gary and Anna, and Victor and Karina
First, though, I have to note Gary and Anna’s costumes. I think they were supposed to be a Russian Knight and Lady. It appears the Costume Department, though, found these on sale when the Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament in Exit 12, New Jersey closed down.
Victor Espinosa and Karina Smirnoff are eliminated. I’m just a little surprised – they had scored a comparitively high 20 tonight. And Gary Busey stays to compete for another week.
I was surprised Gary Busey didn’t get the boot he must be frustrating as hell to work with his partners face says it all- that woman deserves hazzard pay! You are so right those ‘Russian’ costumes just needed the back-up dancers holding those big bbq turkey legs to complete the Medieval Times look. At least Victor seemed to really enjoy his experience and back to ????? hopefully winning Breeders Cup with Pharo!
This is Gray’s second week in the bottom 2. I am not impressed with kim, glad she’s gotten better comments from the judges but the rhythm is just not there. Victor did better than Paula Deen and I loved his enthusiasm and desire to learn…sad to see him go.
Thanks for the recap. That pout on Kim is ludicrous. Does she think it’s cute. I’d be afraid to be in the same room as Gary, I’ve seen him do some crazy stuff
Eric — thanks for the recap, helping TT out. I won’t get into this show until more are eliminated.
Does anyone believe good dancers are good in bed and visa versa?
Maybe that’s a weekend topic!
I love this topic idea, Calipatti.
@Calipatti ~ then that would mean that Kim sucks in the sack, because she sho can’t dance!
Sheesh I can’t believe Gary Busey made it another week! He’s a loose cannon. The judges were mouthing “i love him” wtf
@Erickzku ~ I LOVED how you described Kim’s dancing. It was spot on! Period! 😉
@Ericzku ~ sorry I misspelled your name. That’s the second time I’ve done that tonight, and for some reason, I think it’s really important to spell peoples names right. *shrugs shoulders*
Thanks for recap!
I was just going to note the fact that Carrie Anne was nervous when Gary started to come towards her. Anna also made many expressions on her face of dislike it seemed to me towards Gary. Don’t think she is all that comfortable with her partner partner. I love little Bendi’s attitude she’s so sweet but I don’t think her dance was the best of the night. Did not deserve a 9. The judges love Derick. I felt like both of the married couples dances can’t remember their names were better.

Gurl… You in danger. Tamara is not going to be happy you cut and pasted from another website. Send the breaking news directly to her from now on. I am trying to save you some wrath here. Her posting rules are not to be messed with.
