It’s a surprise eviction on Big Brother tonight! Julie enters the house (via tv screen) to let the houseguests know. Everyone is visibly stunned. It seems like they were all expecting more time to scamper.
And we rewind to the nomination ceremony. Steve is disappointed that Vanessa chose to save Austin and Liz by putting him and Johnny Mack up. In usual Vanessa style, she starts crying and Steve turns into the one apologizing. She’s diabolical but effective. John goes to Austin and Liz to try and make an alliance to get him through this eviction. He offers to throw the veto competition if they promise to keep him. Austin and Liz immediately report this to Vanessa because it’s not like they’re playing a game for $500,000 or anything. Just give her the win already. Everyone else is.
This week everyone is playing in the veto competition. They get to watch a new CBS show, Life In Pieces. How they have time for an extra CBS ad in this episode is beyond me but here we are. The veto competition is based on the tv show. Players have to run across a balance beam to put together a puzzle of the cast. If they don’t return across the balance beam and hit their buzzer every 20 seconds, the puzzle demagnetizes and all the pieces fall. Liz is counting on herself and Vanessa to keep nominations the same since Austin notoriously does bad on puzzles. Houseguests are scrambling and running, scrambling and running. Well, all of them except Steve. Steve must slowly walk across his balance beam or he’ll fall. Austin misses his time and loses his puzzle. Liz is cruising. John realizes that he might have to pretend to throw it to Liz because she might win anyway. But then he speeds things up and wins the veto. Johnny Mack is safe for another week! And Vanessa has to get “more blood on her hands” when she nominates either Austin or Liz as the replacement nominee.

Vanessa is beside herself that John won the veto. Like tears mixing with snot running down her face upset. Austin turns the tables and starts sucking up to John. John says he still wants to work with Austin and Liz but who knows if he’s telling the truth. Steve is happy that Vanessa is in this uncomfortable position after turning her back on him and John. His gloating is actually quite adorable. At the veto ceremony, John uses the veto on himself. Vanessa nominates Austin as the replacement nominee since Liz was on the block last week. Austin claims to trust Vanessa but he also casts doubt on that trust. It’s obvious that Liz will vote to keep Austin. John’s vote is the only way to keep Vanessa from having to make the tie-breaker decision between her two closest alliance members, Austin and Steve. Now that she can no longer get Johnny Mack out, Vanessa tells him she wants to go to final three with him. At this point, everyone is lying to everyone else so it’s really hard to know who will actually be voted out tonight.
Now we’re caught up and it’s time for voting. Steve wasn’t prepared to give a speech (since the eviction came early) but he says nice things about being a huge Big Brother fan. Austin claims that CBS is “going to change the world with their new show Life in Pieces.” Ugh. Such a suck-up. He goes on to explain that he’s Judas and Steve is “the boy” (why no one has explained the racial connotations of that nickname to Austin is beyond me) so he deserves to stay. Liz votes to evict Steve. John votes to evict Austin. Vanessa must make the tie-breaker decision. She evicts Austin! Holy crap! Our first surprise eviction. Liz is absolutely stunned. Austin walks out of the house, shoeless. We get a short shot of Vanessa crying hysterically as she justifies her reasoning to Liz. Then Austin is talking to Julie. Austin kind of understands why Vanessa evicted him but thinks she could have won without the scumbag move. He went into the house seeing Big Brother as his second chance in the entertainment world after wrestling didn’t work out. Then met Liz and it all changed. He was there so long he even started to think he could win it. And now he’s on his way to the jury house.
The Head of Household competition is called What the Bleep? Players see footage from past episodes with a word or words bleeped out. Julie gives them a true/false question about what the bleeped out word or words were. Each correct answer is one point and the player with the most points wins. The first round is Julia whining about not getting picked to play veto. Everyone gets it right. Next is Becky introducing herself and everyone gets the bleeped word right. In round three, they see Jackie and Steve is the only one to get it right. The score is Steve 3, Liz and John 2. Next, Jace is talking about the plan to get him out. Everyone gets it right. then Meg gives her speech about seeing all of her friends evicted and only John get the bleeped word right. The score is John and Steve 4, Liz 3. James talks about being bored in the house and everyone gets it wrong. In the last clip, Vanessa reads her letter from Mel. Steve and John get it right so they are tied at 5 points each. Liz is out and the boys go to tie-breaker. “In seconds, how long was the Under the Rainbow competition from the start to when Vanessa hit the button to win?” Steve answers 601. John answers 3,600. John went over so Steve wins Head of Household. Then Steve realizes that he meant to answer 6,001 but forgot a zero. Sometimes a mistake is actually good luck…
Tune in tomorrow night for another live eviction. Who will be evicted? John, Liz or Vanessa?
So Steve gets to decide on the two nominations for eviction? I’m a bit confused at the moment.
Is there really any chance Vanessa will be evicted? That is the best move for everyone.
Vanessa is trying to make the others think that she doesn’t have the jury votes to win. On the way out Austin said the same. So, I guess it’s likely that at least Liz would want to take her to F2. I think Steve should nominate John. I’m on the fence with the other two. I’m unsure about the jury.
Michael, at this point, other than getting the room and being safe and the gift basket, the HOH doesn’t even matter. Whoever wins the VETO this time will be safe from eviction. If they win, they won’t use it unless they are on the block. The veto winner is the only voter this week and ultimately decides who leaves.
Then the final three play a three part HOH comp. All three play the first round and the winner advances to round three.. In the second round, The top two from round one play. The winner of that plays the winner of the first round and the overall winner gets to pick who to take to final two.
I’m watching now and it sounds like Vanessa and John were put up and Vanessa WON THE DAMN VETO so she will pick who to send home between Johnny and Liz. I could be mistaken about that. But that is what I just heard, but now sure if Van was just trying to get how it works and was using an example.
Well. Bye bye Johnny. Then again, liz has two votes if she makes it to the end, maybe she is a better elimination.
GuitarHero John helps get Austin out and Vanessa poisoned in Jury as Judas stomps out of the house barefoot yelling ‘you lost Vanesssa, won’t be any Jury votes for you’. His ridiculous speech calling Steve Boy even got boos from the audience of CBS employees. Best revenge yet, Steve winning HOH and Vanessa needs a puke bucket now. Somebody get her meds and call the waaambulance, nobody’s falling for those crocodile tears, sorry not sorry. You know what they say about payback.
It would be so great if Steve won. Vanessa can’t win, they can’t all be stupid or can they?
Yes, they all are that stupid. Vanessa should have been evicted a long time ago. I think that Steve will take her to the final two and she will win because she played better than the others. It would be nice if Steve won tho.
Steve’s mom must be losing her shit tonight!
Vanessa has played the game well. At least she has been playing.
FINALLYYYYY-AH. I finally watched a show that made me very happpppy-ah!
The shock on Austin’s face was priceless. And what a miserable jackass his is for saying all that to Vanessa. Talk about poor sportsmanship…GOD_AH!
I’d love to see John and Steve as the final two. I could be happy for either one of them to win. God! Mt cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing so muuuuuuch-ah!
I knooooow-ah!
On behalf of men who respect women I say:
“Bye you toxic dirty nasty ass bitch boy manipulative ogre control freak piece of shit trash. I can’t wait till someone makes you choke to death on your sticky fingers via the way of your asshole.” #ByeTrick #BBAustin
Please tell us how you really feel, don’t hold anything back!
Thank you UF!
….so I take it you would NOT like for Austin to be invited back for an allstar season?
I would rather have fire ant enema than to ever see him again.
So, UF,
If you had to be stranded somewhere for a week with either HE WHO SHALL NOT BE NAMED or Austin, which would you choose?
Screw you for the torturous question and making me say this but……. I have to chose Frankie because he has a greater chance of introducing me to Madonna, but he has to keep his chimpanzee like paws away from of me.
Yeah….UF I’ve seen your reflection. You are pretty hot. Frankie would be all over your lumbersexual bod.
I didn’t mean it in a sexual way like that. Have you seen Frankie’s hands? They look like special effects hands used in Planet of the Apes. I’m not kidding they are disgusting just in general… and haha I had to google lumbersexual. Wasn’t sure if was being shaded all the way form down under, but thanks for calling me hot even though I’m not.
I’m getting a vibe here.
Oh yeah, one more thing….wanted to give props to our Lady C. for another great recap! Thanks, Lady.
@Lady C Thank you for doing such a kick ass recap,as always. I don’t watch the show much but your recaps are great and I never feel lost (Which is saying a lot bc -me)
I guess I am just so stoked that I can’t stop thinking about the show tonight. I just have to add yet one more thing. Is Austin, AKA UF’s description (was so on point there) going to be on the Bold and Beautiful because he is so fucking arrogant and that is what he believes or has he heard this for certain? I so hope he’s not. That scumbag deserves nothing! He made such an ass of himself saying what he did to V on his way out. AND THEN talking trash about her to Julie. I don’t remember seeing anyone come out of the BB house with that kind of ugly sour grapes before. I hope someone points out to him that he and Liz comes in dead last everyday on Joker’s Houseguest ratings chart. So we are far from alone on the disgust for this ass wipe. OK, I think I’m done ya’ll. Have a great night and a pleasant tomorrow.
Y’all are such haters! LOL. My sister despises him too. He’s not my type. My main problem with him is he has a look of effeminate qualities. I need my men to be butcher than me….
You said it sister.
Austin is/was campaigning for a part, one might say giving himself a shout out. It is all in his asshole. I mean, his head.
Riley last year several BB HG did a cameo for 2 episodes for a Halloween special on The Bold & The Beautiful: Donny, Devin, Cody, Amber, Caleb, Zach, Hayden, Nicole, Elyssa, Jeff & Jordan, Rachel & Brendon. Trust me it was very painful to watch.
Big Foot is hustling his stroll hard trying to get on this year. AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN.
Tonight sitting with Julie post eviction, he admitted that he only did Big Brother for a new career in entertainment because he is a FAILURE as a wrestler (and in life), but the thing is there is NOTHING entertaining about him.
I’d campaign for him to be cast JUST to read the snarky tweets by you. ?
Everything that I wished for happened tonight and more. What was the more? Austin’s self-revealing poor sportsmanship. His face spoke volumes, and unless he regains self-control, his anger at Vanessa will be vocal in the jury house. And it will be counterproductive. Now watch Steve and Vanessa comfort Liz, so that she can buck up and fight for herself. A few wise words could clear her vision, her illusions. Everything hinges right now on who wins POV, and we’ll most likely know who did by watching BBAD.
Staying up to find out noms and pov….
My dearest Steve has guaranteed himself a place in the Final 3. Dreams really do come true. Austin had rehearsed a scathing and belittling speech aimed at Steve, by the way. It was only at Vanessa’s urging that he toned it down somewhat, but he was also pretty certain that he had Steve beat, because it was well concealed from him that John was keeping Steve. Even with the supposedly benevolent changes that he made in his speech, it was still very assholian.
jon and van nom, van won veto? is that what she just said?
yep, heard that too, while she was practicing her speech–John Van nommed, Van won veto and Liz will go up. Van is the only voter so after evicting Austin, she’ll evict John and take Liz and Steve to Final 3. She’s been afraid how popular Steve & John ate in Jury…pretty much game over.
Is Steve popular w/jury? I thought she would do F2 w/Steve because he never really played the game or connected with the jury members/
Steve definitely played the game and won several HOHs (4, I think). Depending on who takes whom to jury, meaning who wins two parts of the final HOH, Steve could win. But Vanessa has, by far, played the best game through the whole season. I’d be okay with any of them (John, Steve, Vanessa) winning, except Liz.
That’s what I heard, too!
To quote the great Frank Zappa, wowie zowie!!!
Okay I triple checked.
Steve nominated Van and JMac.
Van won the fucking veto. (and likely the game)
Van will choose who goes home between Liz and Jmac.
I have no idea what she will do.
Thanks for the update!!! I cannot wait to find out what happens!
This has been by far the best BB year for me by the way because I had all of you and especially TT. ♡♡ I love being able to chat about the show.
damn damn damn I did NOT want Vanessa to be safe! Please let Steve win final HOH!!!
Did someone actually say that Steve has never really played the game? He has won 3 HOH and 2 POVs. Statistically, Steve is only the 18th houseguest to win 5 comps in one Season.
Great recap, thanks, LC! Yes! No more Austin! Maybe he’ll be a corpse on a CSI show.
^^^hahahahahahaha
Dang, I hate that I missed this episode, but great recap, I felt like I watched it! I am sooooo happy Austin is out. At first I thought the Judas schtick was so lame, but on second thought, maybe the fucktard really DID hang himself. Haha, jokes on you, blowhard. He couldn’t even do a decent handstand either, but I will give him A for effort in making himself look like some puffed up baboon in the attempt. It really was the only thing that made him entertaining.
REALLY glad Steve won HOH. I think? I mean, at least I know I’m glad it wasn’t Vanessa or Liz. Steve makes me nervous though, hell, they all make me nervous at this point, but I would really love it if Vanessa or Liz didn’t win. For me, the fact that Steve and JMac are still in it is a minor miracle and I really am pulling that one of them win. I want to see Vanessa’s face when (if?) she gets voted out so bad, it’s really kinda sad. Yeah, yeah, she’s played a good strategic game, but she’s so fucking annoying…I want to see something/someone REALLY make her cry, for no other reason than she’s so fucking annoying when she cries. I sort of accept that she’s a lying hypocrite, because this is BB, but she’s a ugly crier and she does it way too much…especially when it’s convenient. I personally don’t care about her hormones either 😉
I would think that Austin’s anger at Vanessa will only help her. I guess he could tell them that she said terrible things but it will come off as sour grapes. No one in the jury house is an Austin fan. Now they will see that the blood on Vanessa’s hands is nothing personal, that she is just playing to win.
It looks like a boring, predictable season may turn out to be a nail biter in the final stretch. Interesting that.
I had those same thoughts about Vanessa. She has a really ugly cry and does it at the drop of a beanie. I still favor her or JMac to win, but she lost some points for her over the top emotions.
…and SO glad Austin has finally been dumped.
Since Vanessa won POV, she’s the only voter for the next eviction and with a tie impossible, she and Steve talked lots last night about whether Liz or John goes next. The two of them are weighing how either of the potential evictions will affect the jury votes. They seemed to be leaning more towards voting out John, primarily and ostensibly because of their speculation that sending Liz out now is more dangerous, jury-wise. If Steve and John still plan to eliminate Vanessa somehow, it’s concealed beautifully. Also, neither Steve or Vanessa trust anyone except for one another at this point, or so they’ve said to one another. And yes, it could be b.s., but that’s not the feeling I’m getting right now. Even Vanessa could have a privately held intention of trying for a Final 2 with Liz, but I don’t think so. Liz was covering up her anger at Vanessa last night and hadn’t talked any game whatsoever with her.
Steve was terribly upset at himself while alone last night, second-guessing everything that he’s done and apologizing to his mother. He said that it’s solely his own responsibility for putting himself in a position where he can’t win the half million now vs. Vanessa and would have stood a much better chance against either John or Liz, without Vanessa still around. If he recovers his equilibrium, maybe he can strive to get out of the hole that he’s dug for himself, and use his current anxiety as a fuel to change things up. Vanessa has won the most comps of anyone in the game, but Steve isn’t able to see himself as kinda lovable and how that might help him with jury votes.
Steve admitted in his soliloquy time that he threw the POV and for that I’m happy he won’t win. Who does that!
Now I’m rooting for Liz just so Vanessa doesn’t win. Wish JMac didnt go home today.
From a game stand point & not “he’s weird for a reason so be nice” standpoint Steve ruined the game twice now. So I’m happy he doesn’t win. He hasn’t been a likable person to root for the whole game. Wonder if he is one of the 6 casting mistakes that Les M. Said. James was likable with dealable perv ways.
Thx Lady Cocotte for letting me know when to care again.
Thank you Lady C for your great indepth recap. You always do such a great job and I appreciate your effort. I’m so glad to see the ass end of Austin walking out that door because he’s been such an ass the whole season. The fact that he was so shocked and barefooted made it even better. He’s like the little bratty boy who didn’t get his way and is going to take his toys and go home. Everyone’s always laughed at you Austin, NOT with
you. had about given up watching and was just reading recaps. I might just have to watch tonight after all.
Austins’ hairy jaw just about hit the floor when he was voted out.
Saved by his ponytail beard. Even after he was evicted, Liz was babbling to Steve and John about how Austin promised to trim it for her. Ugh-a-bugga-boo.
