Are you ready for some football? I’m not. Just not quite yet. We’ve had two high school teams in a row to open, and next weekend is the only game I really care about. I HATE THOSE NASTY GAMECOCKS TO PIECES! Even more than I hate the fucking Gators! At least it is a home game so hopefully we will murder them. On the other hand, they have been playing real games so  far they beat North Carolina and are leading Kentucky in the fourth quarter. I hope we are ready.

I’ve been sort of fucking off today. I did a fabulous recap of  MDLLA that you should all click this link to go read, and watched Drew Brees be totally fearless on Bear Grylls and now I am watching American Ninja Warrior.  I suggest you never leave American Ninja Warrior on in the background while doing other things.  You would not think it is addicting, but it kind of is. Maybe I just like watching people go for their dreams whether it is Miss America or American Ninja warrior, I like to see people accomplishing what they set out to.

So what are you guys doing?  Are there any shows returning in the fall that you are excited about? I saw The Blacklist commercials today and I am excited for that. Dramas are very time consuming to recap though so don’t hold your breath. The Voice just played a commercial and I am a sucker for all the singing contests. And I do not listen to music very much at all.  Again, it is seeing people winning that I like.

Talk to me, peeps!

    Happy Saturday!
Beside reality TV, Once Upon a Time on ABc used to be good. Last season disappointed but I’m hoping they’ll turn it around with Merida.

The Walking Dead is definitely a given.

You’re already recapping Project Runway! Life is good.

I can’t handle football season. I have a two week old and a two year old and I’m not looking forward to my husband being in the house and yet mentally at the stadium. Today with the Yankee double header, it was torture hearing him curse the blue jays for the lead. Anyone else with this problem!?!

Well, Espi, my husband has that problem. I keep telling him that I’m just coaching my ‘Stros. I admit to using some pretty salty language.

I wasn’t very excited about football until I watched a five part special about the Texans on HBO. It was really good and they used “Game of Thrones” music. (I love that show. I keep meaning to read the books, Lisamia, but right now I’m on a Low Country kick.)

Since I am acknowledging folks I’ll say thanks to Ericzku, for giving us the Dorothy Parker quotation re Oscar Wilde. (Maybe part of those names are spelled right.)

This is really long for me… I appreciate the indulgence.

Thanks for the shout-out, Margarett! I don’t know why, but reading your comment brought that little ditty of Mrs. Parker’s to mind.

Despite my seemingly limitless capacity for bad TV, trashy reality shows, and Godawful movies, I always come to a point where I need to turn off the TV, put the phone down, and pick up an actual, real, old-fashioned book. Like, real literature. It doesn’t have to be terribly highbrow, but it does need to be literate, no 50 shades of Harlequin twilight allowed!

Not that anyone asked, but I’ve found that over the last 5 years or so, I’ve really come to appreciate stillness and silence. Silence truly is golden! I make a concerted effort to take some time to turn everything off and just be still. It works wonders! It’s heaven to have a break from always pushing, pushing or having to listen to someone’s mouth yammering yammering yammering…

Well, off to see what’s on TV tonight…

TT, don’t hate on the Gamecocks! Hate on the Clemson Tigers! We can both hate the fucking Gators! I have to root for the Wolf Pack, the Tar Heels, the Georgia Dawgs, the Gamecocks, the Citadel dawgs, and the Masked Rider. Texas Tech’s Masked Rider is awesome…A masked rider on a gorgeous horse flies across the field. GUNS UP! Because, twins.

I’ve been playing doggy matchmaker for hours today. German Shepherd Rescue and Adoption had an event today, and everyone’s buzzing. Love it.

Yes! Can’t WAIT for Good Wife

Survivor (try to never miss it, compare every finalist rant against the one Sue gave in Season One. “If you were dying of thirst … !” )

And Downton, which I will certainly cry farewell multiple times.

And Shonda Rhimes shows, take your pick.

I loved The Americans but didn’t watch past season one. Have to rent that – especially fun to watch them try to match the 80’s fashions, music, language, etc.

Blaine, if you have the patience / time, you can slow roast them on super-low temp. Sliced, on parchment lined pans, olive oil, garlic minced and thyme. Once they carmelize you can gift them; they’re like candy and you’re friends will eat away the 200lbs of fruit. I’m wishing I’d done this with my heirlooms I turned my back on and they went to mush!

My tomato crazed friend had a tomato tasting party at a pea-patch garden; we had 30 varieties to taste. It sounds weird but it was so enjoyable and I’ve come away with 5 plants I’ll be sure to grow next year. Until I had them side-by-side, you’d think a tomato is a tomato. It was so fun.

No need to peel Blaine! And the few green ones I tossed into the pan were fine roasted, less rich flavor but fine. If you want to view other peoples tips on it, just google roasted tomatoes garlic thyme and view the Food Network, food and style sites, etc. for their recipe tips.

I would drain off a bit of the liquid from the cut slices on the pan before adding the oil and roasting. Otherwise you’re sitting, waiting for that moisture to cook off at such a low oven temp. And some people don’t add the garlic but rather, use garlic infused oil, which works too. If you do this recipe, it would be fun to hear how it turned out for you!

I’m so looking forward to Sunday afternoon because my Greenback Packers will be playing. I’ve been in mourning because my favorite player Jordy Nelson has already been put on injured reserve for the season. I’ve only become a diehard, cursing at the screen, jersey wearing Packer fan the last four years. I attribute it to going through menopause. Before that I couldn’t have cared less about watching and would go into the bedroom to watch something else. After menopause I think my testosterone levels increased to almost the level of a man. I started growing weird hairs on my chin and I call my husband a jinx and send him out of the room if our team has more than one bad play in a row. Don’t laugh. It’s only stupid if it doesn’t work and it usually works when I send him out of the room lmao.

We had to pull the boats out today because the marina is pulling our docks out Monday. This makes me depressed. I like Fall and enjoy the Vikings games (SKOL!), leaves turning, bon fire smells and burning leaves, etc. but it all basically boils down to one thing for us up nort here dontcha know… Winter is around the corner. That is always a drag. It’s fun for the first month or so, however in Minnesota, our winters last for like five months. It sucks. So this is usually kind of crabby time around my house. And I am crabby, and a bit blue. We already have that Fall chill in the air. Flannel shirt weather… Sigh.
As far as shows… I am looking forward to Homeland. When does it start?
I also love Downton Abbey as some of you mentioned, but I don’t think we get that in the States until January.
I also watch Girls, Shameless, Togetherness, Getting on… But I don’t think any of those start until January.
I am super excited for season 2 of Transparent. That starts in December. So I guess none of my shows are starting yet, except maybe Homeland from what you guys are saying?
I am really excited for SNL, though, which I think starts in October. It should be really funny with the GOP race. I’ve been trying to figure out who will play Trump.
That’s all I can think of for shows. I will keep checking back here though. I hope there are some I have forgotten about that start sooner.
Hope everyone is well and not a crabby-ass like me!

Oh, I absolutely *LOVE* Getting On! I’m so glad to see you mention it…you never see it written about/mentioned anywhere. I thought I was the only one in the world who watched it!

It is just so incredibly brilliant. It strikes a balance of humor and pathos perfectly, and its depiction of office politics/insanity of “Corporate America” is absolutely dead-on.

I’m thrilled that it will be returning for a third season (If you can call 6 episodes “a season”) albeit the final one.

I’d love to see the original BBC series sometime – clips I’ve seen are equally good if not better than the US version. I understand it was the brainchild of comedienne Jo Brand – quite a character herself.

Do you watch Transparent on Amazon Prime, Eriiczku? You have to pay to be a Prime member (I think it’s like $100 a year). Anyway, Jeffrey Tambour plays a transgender 60 year old just coming out to her kids. It was probably my favorite show last year. Amazon Prime by the way is worth every penny. If you shop on Amazon a lot your deliveries are guaranteed in two days. Plus you have access to all of these shows you can’t get anywhere. Check out “Transparent”, very funny, sweet and moving (and “Jewey” according to Lady C. ).

Surely this season will finish off the Atlanta franchise that has been “circling the drain” for a while now.

Not a sports fan here, no man here so I don’t have to tolorate it in background constantly. I do have a Steelers grudge because of Michael Vick. I used to live near the Steel City so feel as though I should like them but I didn’t and I won’t.

Sister Wives starts today. I watch as time killer, not a super fan, but am interested to see what he, forget the turds name, oh, Cody, what’s he going to do about Mary. Is Mary going to run?

A new show, Suddenly Royal, on TLC started. Episode 2 is Wednesday. They are normal people, not the usual TLC outliers. It is an American couple with 1 daughter, the Howes, after ancestry research, discover he is entitled to be the king of the British Isle of Mann. They even got invited to Will and Kate’s neptuals, couldn’t afford to go.They save for 3 years to go there for 6 weeks to prove the research and get acceptance from the folk. The Howes are both funny in a non slapstick way. I usually do not like sitcoms. This appears to be real as well as comedic. Much went wrong getting to the Isle and into accommodations.

My tablet is not compatible with the new service TT has. My typed words are so small I cannot read them. Must enlarge to proofread, thst takes it off the screen. Nothing seems in sinc as before. Sort of like trying to use a word program on a typewriter. It may help me to say less. You can hope!

Well, the Gators beat us…but not by as much as they were expected to…a bit of solace. As for TV shows: Scandal, Homeland, The Knick and for comedy….Fresh Off the Boat. For those of us who celebrate….Shana Tova U’Metuka.

Maybe if the 1st team players had actually gotten some play during preseason, instead of waiting until the first game to be out there …

My neighbors signal is 30 seconds faster than my tv signal and I can always hear what happens with the play before it ends from their yelling or stomping. Meanwhile on my tv, they haven’t even huddled for the play yet! It’s so annoying I’m actually thinking of giving up football this year. Or change cable providers.

We could. the guy behind us is a 49’s fan and my son and his friend would go out and yell at him when he was on his deck. There were cheering so much. Rivalry’s are good to have but some get carried away. When fans start to actually beat each other up it makes me sad, see that way too much these days.

it was friendly ribbing, the seahawks would score and they would run out and cheer, 49’s score, he would do the same. it was pretty funny.

Survivor is starting soon!!! I LOVE returnee seasons. I’m a bit dubious of the earlier players (season 1, 2 etc) coming back and being even remotely competetive with the likes of Spencer, Sherri etc.

I feel bad for the season that was filmed ages ago but was put on the back burner for the second chance season. The final 2/3 must be pissed having to wait forever for their cash.

Whats the story on that Survivor season filmed ages ago but put on back burner? I’m sure I can google it but it sounds like they shelved it–what the heck?!

I’m so excited for Survivor but haven’t researched who the returnee’s are this time around. Must look into that –

Yeah don’t look it up. All I read ages ago was that the next season was meant to be a newbie season that at the time time of filming the last’s season live finale, had already completed filming itself.

The newbie season was meant to air now, but since last season had some very popular characters, production decided to bring some of them back and film their season and air it first. Before the general viewership forgot how much they loved the characters returning.

So unfortunately for the newbies, they filmed their season ages ago and have to wait till this new one airs and ends before theirs will begin airing. A long time to wait to see if you won.

I hope that was not too complicated. Tried to avoid even minir spoilers. If I accidentally spoil something feel free to delete this post TT.

Read my big post above or tdlr: production decided to change order of seasons.

Was meant to be: newbie season now, returnee season after. They switched it because the returnees from last season were so popular, either that or the newbie season was boring (poor casting decisions). I hope it isn’t that though.

So one of the many things I am doing this week, is preparing to sue a messageboard. Who knew running a website would be this difficult?

I been robbed by a messageboard for several years. Now it’s time to recoup the as money they receive from stealing my posts. There are also a lot of consequences on my Google ranking to be compensated for… It seems they cannot function without me. So, I’m not even sending a cease and desist. We’re just going straight to court.

I’ve grown tired of their thievery.

I’ve posted disclaimers that seem odd to some on my site for awhile. And they think that because they are a messageboard they are immune because commenters posted my work.

As it turns out, warrants will issued to enom.com for the IPs and identifying info on each person that stole my work, The site owner will also be sued. And the Ad Rev for each post they copy of mine without credit will be awarded to me.

This should be a warning to you all, that commenters think they are immune, but they are no immune from stealing other people’s intellectual property.

Anyway. I have an appointment again on Wednesday with my attorney. links and screenshots are in place now. Thanks to all who helped!

I am late to the post, and it’s past my bedtime, but I am a college football NUT, especially the SEC and my beloved UGA Dawgs. I even watch Game Day on ESPN on Saturday mornings. I would love an open post on Fridays so we can predict who is going to win and on Saturdays during the games. We even discussed this 2 or 3 years ago in an email. There may not be enough interest but that’s my two cents worth. I’ll come back tomorrow when I have enough brain cells to make sense.

Well hopefully in the next couple of hours he will be removed by the gay loving conservative party member who was removed by Tony Abbott previously (revenge is sweet).

Numbers are close and in politics anything could happen but I am hopeful. The new/old guy is a homo friend and supports a public vote on equality in the next year or two. The current guy is a conservative, religious zealot at times. Urgh!
