Daily Tea: Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Just wanted to wish all of you a great holiday weekend no matter what you are up to.  I really appreciate all of your support. I’ve got a lot going on with the site and other stuff and I’ll try to be around as much as possible this weekend.  I have some RHOA  tea I’m working on and plan on getting some more recaps up soon.

I am super stressed because of all of the difficulty I am having putting in code for the ads. If a bunch of shit goes haywire, that is why.

I really need to figure this out and then go on a nice long vacation.  But that’s not an option right now. I hope you will all invite your friends to the site and we can build things back up a bit. Moving is a pain in the ass.

Now tell me all about what you are up to this holiday weekend!

I have three days off!! I am so burned out by my job–nice to have a short break. I spent the morning playing World of Warcraft. Now, going on a hike with the boyfriend–with Starbucks for a reward at the end. Planning on hitting the Farmer’s Market in the morning, then brunch with the family. BF and I will hopefully finish Orange is the New Black before I have to go back to work.
Hope you get the codes figured out TT. You deserve a great vacation! <3<3

Hi Psylocke. Yes, I confess I play WoW. Started playing about 10 years ago. I play a Wargen Hunter–tried other classes, but they are too complicated for this simple mind and I missed my pet. Pet is a black terrorsaur named Beauty. I love her! The newest upgrade is really fun. They just added another patch so new stuff to do. Do you play? I am a total loner on the game. I belong to guild–in fact I am the guild leader at the moment, but that’s because almost no one plays any more. That’s okay with me. I prefer soloing. Just Beauty and me, saving the world :). Do you play?

Oh you should play again, Micheal! The new upgrade is so fun. You get to have your own garrison, followers, and a fleet of ships among other things. I have a blood elf, but never play her. I love my Wargen and being a Hunter.

Happy Labor day to everyone! I spent the day with my high school-aged son watching him play an exhibition game with a real U.S. university team! It was really nice of them to make time in their pre-season for the younger kids and play ball with them. Tomorrow I will be laying tile with my hubby for a bathroom reno we’re doing. BTW, I freakin’ luv doing reno. Have a safe long weekend all.

Take the time to love your doggie just a little bit more than usual. I lost my best friend after 18 years. I’m still broken and that was 1 & half years ago.
I loved that little puppy silly.

izmeagain, sorry about you losing your best furry friend even though it was a year and a half ago. My husband and I had to put down our 10 year old Rottie baby Farouk this week. He and his siblings were born in our living room in a baby pool and lived his whole life here with us. Even though we have 2 other Rotties and a Great Dane puppy, we miss him so much. People think because we have 3 more dogs we should be okay. I say would you be okay if you had 4 children and lost one of them? Would the 3 children make up for losing the one? Silly old woman and her furbabies I guess. Have been spending time with family and friends this weekend spoiling my other puppies. Hope everyone has a great Labor Day.

I’m so sorry – I do know how it feels. I don’t live with my parents, but I work with them and they bring the dog to work every day. My furry four legged sister, Shilo, died today. I’m heartbroken, my parents are devastated.

Got the call to come over around 11 am, spend most of the day supporting my Dad and Mom (my Dad didn’t leave her side much), cleaning up various messes that occurred, and running one errand – to go to the store for supplies and to stop by the vets office to see why they didn’t return my mom’s call (the voicemail said they were “busy helping other patients”… they were closed. I’m not happy with them. But they are also the vet for my senior cat and put up with his grumpy ass – he has a caution sticker on his file – so I can’t throw the shit fit I want to do)

Just watched an old episode of X Factor UK (I’ve never seen it before it’s running on a channel called AXS right now. The very last singer sang a touching ballad called Jealousy. Simon CRIED through most of the song and was unable to give critique and after the show he handed off his mic pac and left in a gold cart. I’ve never seen Simon cry before. I could not believe what I was seeing. It was quite unnerving.

A neighbor gave me over a dozen HUGE limes, the biggest I’ve ever seen. So I made a pitcher of limeade and have enough limes juiced to make 2 or 3 more pitchers. I made it with some simple syrup and it was delicious. I had to repeatedly clean out the juicer strainer because there were hundreds of seeds….

My question– If I threw a handful of those seeds on or in the ground would a lime tree grow from it?

You never know. But if you bought some night potting soil you could try to plant some in little potting cups and see what happens. Then I would suggest keeping one alive inside (possibly with a grow lamp) until spring.

So the boyfriend and I finished season three of Orange is the New Black. No spoilers, but what an amazing finale to the season. Now we have to wait until next summer….sad face! Miracle happened post OitnB: I was able to talk the BF into watching Treme! I told him, just give it 10 minutes. He did and he was hooked! I just finished The Wire, so loving Treme because it has a lot of the same cast and the same writers. It’s like it’s still The Wire but now we are in New Orleans. And the music!!! OMG. Anyway, the BF loves it. Bad part is, now I can’t cheat on him and watch it when he’s not around….another sad face!

OMG… How I wish that we had a collapsible spoiler box function – b/c I’d love to discuss OITNB, but do NOT want to spoil anything for those lucky enough to still have 3 seasons to watch. Marathon watched Season 3 – not sure I digested it all. Want to rewatch at some point – probably right before Season 4 – if for nothing but the Cindy storyline, and that last scene. I cried. So spiritual.

Going to ignore what you say about Treme, because I have enough on my “to be watched” on my streaming accounts, not to mention that I just recently became a member of the local independently owned movie theater!

I have never watched Treme but if it’s similar in theme and cast then I am starting tonight!!!

I am 14 minutes into this and I have already seen Bunk, Namond’s mother, Lester, and someone I can’t remember. Plus David Simon WROTE THIS?! How did I not know about this. As a huge Wire fan, I am beyond psyched.
So many great characters from The Wire! Did you know that many of them are gangbangers that were pulled off the street to star in the show? Snoop, and a few of that crew.
Thanks so much for the heads up!

You can grow citrus from seeds but you have to start them in some little pots and bring them inside when it gets cold and keep them ewatered ect… Then in 10 years you can invite us all over for margaritas! Well I have a long weekend no work until Tuesday ? but today I got bit by a dog that didn’t appreciate having her hair cut! Tomorrow I have to go buy my Mom a new TV and I hope there’s some good sales. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Well… I procrastinated today, until I got an invite to go out for Thai food. My INTENT is to do some major housecleaning/reorganzing. Not only do I need to clean out the garage so I can park my car in it (I’m the type that continually “cleans out the car” and just stacks shit up in the garage thereby just moving the clutter from one place to another), I need to do a major overhaul of my downstairs, including cleaning out closets that I’ve not seen the back of since I moved in 15 years ago (the one under the stairs is scaring me). I need to have the flooring replaced – as in the linoleum is torn up already in spots in the kitchen… but can’t even contemplate getting someone out for an estimate until I do this.

Hopefully tomorrow and Monday I hit it all with a full head of steam. Maybe I should double up on the thyroid medication (kidding! kidding!)
