Before he was eliminated, Clay had an unusually strong bond with Johnny Mack. So much so that Vanessa even accused them of being brothers or “gay lovers” (nice support of the LGBTQIA community there, Vanessa). Knowing this, Shelli goes to Johnny Mack with her whole “fair maiden in need of protecting” act. He falls for it hook, line and sinker. Johnny realizes that he can’t do it alone so he decides to pull in Steve. He tells Steve that he figured out the BD Vanessa plan. In order to make sure that plan comes through, Johnny Mack wants Steve to pick him for veto. Steve is on board until Johnny Mack tells him he’ll use the veto on Shelli if he wins. Uh, ok. Steve doesn’t understand why that makes sense (because it doesn’t). When questioned, Johnny Mack smugly tells Steve he’s not really a target. “You’ve never won anything.” Steve feels torn between his two closest allies, Johnny Mack and Vanessa. And he wants his mommy.
Liz finally admits she kind of likes Austin, but she insults him throughout the confession..
Time to pick players for the veto competition! Becky pulls Austin. Shelli gets Houseguest’s Choice and chooses Vanessa. Johnny Mack and Becky both get mad but all they can do is grimace. Steve goes last and he gets Meg, which is pretty much the booby prize.

Veto Competition
It’s time for the comic book competition. Players zipline past a window of comics based on Houseguests. They have to arrange the comics in the same order shown through the window. To make things more interesting, there are two versions of each comic so not only do they need to get the order but the correct image to win. Whoever does it the quickest, wins. Meg is up first. She goes through once to get the sequence and then works on the details. She loves her comic (The Big Apple) and laughs at Jason’s (The Mylantor). Becky is next and she decides to figure the men out first, then do the women. Sounds like a stupid theory but editing makes it seem like she did it faster than Meg. Shelli decides to memorize four at a time. Her comic is The Puma and Clay’s is Mr Perfection. She seems to be doing good but then she realizes that she was only looking at order and forgot about the duplicates. Austin is annoyed that his comic (Austin the Barbarian) implies that he smells bad but appreciates that they included Jace (The Bro). Johnny Mack told Steve he’s safe but Steve is fighting to win veto regardless. He can’t tell the difference between Becky’s two comics (The Trainiac). Vanessa really, really wants to win. She decides to work on the order first and then figures out all of the differences.
The competition is timed so I have no idea who won yet but here are a few of the other comics: Johnny Mack is Doctor Drill, Audrey is The Blanket, Steve is The Engineer, James is Captain Camo, Jeff is The Salesman, Dayvonne is Momma Day, Jackie is Special Showgirl, Vanessa is The Mad Hatter, Julia is South Beach Savior and Liz is The Bikini Bandit. Ok, the times are in: Meg did it in 15:37, Becky got 17:02 and Shelli got 25:31 Holy crap, Meg is winning. Austin got 21:20. Steve got 13:57 so Meg is out. Now it’s between Steve and Vanessa. Vanessa got 21:44 so Steve wins veto! Becky is stoked that her plan can move forward while Vanessa is still freaking.
Vanessa starts interrogating everyone about who Becky is putting up. She catches James in a lie and calls him on it. He freaks out and tells her to talk to Becky. Becky has been alone in the HoH room, drinking wine. Vanessa barges in to talktalktalk and Becky tells her she’s not going up. Instead of taking her cue to leave, Vanessa decides to talktalktalk some more. Sigh. After having to put up with that, Becky takes great pleasure telling the Have Nots (Meg, Jackie and James) how she looked Vanessa straight in the eyes and lied to her.
Veto Meeting
As the veto winner, Steve removes himself from the block so Becky must nominate another player for eviction. She nominates Vanessa and the room practically crackles with tension. Becky explains that although Vanessa is great at making deals, she is quick to drop someone if it no longer suits her game. Vanessa holds it together in front of everyone but quickly retreats to her hat (and bed).
Tune in tomorrow for the Double Eviction (a week’s worth of game in one hour)
So sick of those hats. I am really hoping Becky and the gang are safe in this double eviction. Hopefully, Shelli or Liz goes home after Vanessa. Bye hat.
Overnight feeds update. It looks like ADC (J/J/M) are going to go against what Becky wants and vote out Shelli.
I am not really sure what the best move for them is? Do you think they should get out Shelli or Vanessa? Tonight Double eviction should be exciting. This is the best BB in many seasons if you are a feed watcher…
Shelli v Vanessa, that’s a difficult call. I think I would vote out Shelli bc she is more likely to win comps (if it’s not a crap shot). Hopefully one of the Goblins win HOH, and get Vanessa out. Steve plans to throw the HOH comp, I think that’s a very bad move on his part. It looks like JMac and Steve are in trouble. Austwins need to be broken-up, Austin, Liz and Julia are the floaters, they all need to goooah.
I can’t believe Steve is going to throw HOH, he is so stupid, he is in danger of leaving.

For short term goals, I’m finally understanding their switch to Shelli. But Vanessa is the head of the snake. Once Becky is gone, they’re going to be regretting this slop-induced decision for the rest of the game. Never follow Meg! She’s a fun girl but she’s just not smart.
Thanks for the great recap, TT.
Ooops it was Lady Cocotte’s. I forgot the byline but edited it in.

Thanks to Lady too then! 🙂 <3 <3
Hey, I’m only here by the grace of Tamara!
I’m thinking for James and crew it really might be a better thing for them to go Shelli. They would have an easier time selling Austin on getting Vanessa later since he knows that she was gonna put him up. Also the could play the card with Vanessa that Austin and the twins have a really strong bond and would never take her past number 4.
If it’s a double eviction, why can’t they vote out Shelli & Ugly Hat Lady?
Take the hat off!! So annoying
Vanessa is the Shadow. She has the ability to cloud men’s (and women’s) minds. They really should get her out while they have the chance.
I don’t really care about any of these people except James and John. I’d prefer Vanessa stay for a while because she entertains the hell out of me, but six of one. . .
Even I am sick of Vanessa’s hat trick…but if I must spend time in a hospital bed, I always wear one to block out the other crap always going on around me
My mother told me today during phone chat that Meg had leg surgery a few weeks before the start of this season, maybe even knee op. This helps explain a lot about her performances in most of the physical challenges, and I noticed that she did pretty well on last night’s zipline; no weight on her legs. On livefeeds the housemates call her “Grandma”, albeit very affectionately. Meg is usually unmentioned as a real competitor, but she could surprise people. My mom is nearly 98 and loves Big Brother becuz “it’s a sociology class.” Oh! – about DE, see you later, Shelli. Part two, 4 good bets unless current power sextet becomes dethroned before the eviction vote.
Yes, when I was on live feeds awhile ago, there was some chat regarding the fact she’s endured numerous surgeries on her joints (like me), even tho we’re still not over-the-hill by a long shot ~ teehee, now I kinda like her!
Say hi to your Mom and that she’s so right about how BB is a sociology class
Thank you kindly, Loriflack. She’ll get a thrill about it, as a born social butterfly.
Meg had major knee surgery, you cab see the huge scar on her right knee during the veto pick. She either had cruciate ligament repair or knee replacement with the size of that scar.
