Southern Charm Is Coming Back For A Third Season?

July 31, 2015 by tamaratattles 44 Comments

Southern Charm Cast
Can we talk about how Andy looks like a tiny little man who is even shorter than Cameran in heels?

There may be some great news on the horizon for Southern Charm fans! I never really believed the rumors that there would be no Season 3. The ratings for season two sucked for a bit but the Kathryn ramped up the drama and saved the show! On Wednesday,  the South Carolina (mostly political) website,  FITSNEWS confirmed a third season.  I love that site, but if y’all think I’m rude, crude and socially unacceptable, I’d strongly advise most of you not to comment there. I lurk and love the place.  Anyway, if they say Southern Charm is back and production is getting under way, it’s a fact, Jack.

Ravenel has said he won’t come back. He is mad at production  (which doesn’t seem to be heavily influenced by his gay lover  bestie, that Yankee’s woman’s spawn) because they “lied to him” about something or another. He also blames them for his failed senatorial campaign. Because, douchebag.  He seemed to think he should have had editorial control. Seriously? His stupidity is the reason he is on the show in the first place.

Does this column dress make me look pregnant?
Does this column dress make me look pregnant?

In the off season, the on again off again relationship with Thomas and the lovely Kathryn continued. He doesn’t deserve her. And yet they frolicked off to Aiken during polo season with the adorable baby in tow.

Speaking of babies… rumors abound about Kathryn being knocked up again.  The rumors started by FITSNEWS back during polo season at the end of May. Since then, her wardrobe seems to have changed a bit. notice the column dress above, and other shots of her on Instagram have stopped showing her belly. She may have just eaten a sandwich and is fucking with us all. We shall see.

Despite Kathryn being way too young to settle down, especially for a redhead, I would like to see her and Thomas get married on Bravo and have a show about their life living on Edisto (thought Kathryn would insist on living in the downtown Charleston locale.)  I love Edisto but even for me, I would want to go back and forth between downtown Charleston.  And I’d make Thomas buy a place on Queen. /sigh  I love Charleston too, too much. I long for one of my Charleston tours of all the she crab soup places every time I think about city.

As for who will return for season three,  I think we may have seen the last of Craig. However, if Thomas really doesn’t come back (which I don’t believe for a minute) he might return to Charleston for filming.  I’m sure the yankees will return for their oddball mother/son stuff.  I kinda like Landon even though she is not from Charleston either, she is from Jekyll and that’s close enough for me. Cameran will for sure be back to narrate the story and talk about her fear of getting pregnant, or maybe even get pregnant. Shep will be Shep. Though both Thomas and Shep are looking very thin lately. It seems there has been a lot of snow in Charleston since the last season.

If Thomas doesn’t come back, Kathryn can carry the show.  But what will the yankee son from WeHo do for a storyline without Thomas to pine over?

Who is excited for season three?

Me! Me! Me! I love this show. The scenery and architecture is like porn to me and I can’t get enough of it. Charleston is on my bucket list. Savannah was awesome but I NEED to go to Charleston at least one time. Even the theme song makes me happy and I find myself singing it (badly) every time I hear it. SC is like the PumpRules kids of the South.

I hope they all come back, even the Yankees. They all bring something to the show and the group dynamic. And I do think the hatred between Kathryn and Mr. WeHo is very real. I didn’t really dig Kathryn in S1 but she completely turned it around in S2 and I was rooting for her. She is smart as a whip, has an Old Southern Name and Old Money to go with it. That combination is a deadly one! And Mr. WeHo is obviously jealous of her and her lineage because Thomas is drawn to her like a moth to a flame. It’s weird because Whitney is responsible for bringing her ON the show and it didn’t quite turn out the way he expected it to.

Bring them back! I will be watching!

After wrestling with my MS the last two days, TT you are bringing me a reason to smile this morning! Southern Charm is, dare I say, in my top 3 all time favorite Bravo productions. After getting sucked in hard core to Season 2, I revisited Season 1 (twice) and really enjoyed watching these “wet behind the ears” reality stars develop. Sometimes watching Housewives will make you forget how awkward it is to be on camera because those ladies are pretty well polished. It’s refreshing to see these characters, their storylines with actually consequences (Kathryn & TRav), and what seems like pretty raw emotion. Thanks for the update you made my day!

I live in the Bronx. The gorgeous scenery that they have presented on this show make my television viewing feel fantastic. I cannot complain: I wants this show back! Shep and Cameran (and I like Whitney too; hurt me) are enough entertainment.

I love this show too and will be watching. I just got back from Charleston a couple weeks ago and will be going back the first of Sept. I have business there. The place is beautiful and I love to go there. The traffic is a bit much at time though. I hope Thomas does come back, we all know he loves Kathryn. Even though they are like oil and water, I would love to see them get married. It would probably be tough at first, but hopefully they would make it work. That precious baby of theirs deserves to have two parents around all the time. All we can do is sit back and watch.

Yes! I knew Whit and his mommy would make another season happen. Gah, I love Shep! I’d like to see Kathryn and T-Rav co-parent. Because they’re sucky together. Not that this trashtasticness is to be believed. Kinda hope Craig stays away … Just to keep his head on straight.

I wouldn’t wish Thomas Ravenel as a husband on anyone. Kathryn should stop having babies by him. She’ll regret it. Play house, screw around, whatever…but stop bringing innocent children into this train wreck a’rolling.

Agreed. He is a petty, infantile, giant man-baby. If he is this awful as a “bf” he would only be worse in a husband role. Classic mistake women make, thinking he’ll somehow straighten up and be a stand up once they’re married under one roof, yea, ok. He’ll be the same dirtbag only now he’ll resent you and take you even more for granted because you’re married lol

“Giant man baby”… love it. And, yes, he just resents and takes for granted. Nothing as unappealing as a man of this age behaving like a 20 yr old frat boy. I wish he’d lean more toward his friend the restaurant owner (TJ? JT?) than Whitney the vampire.

Thomas Ravenel lost the election because,in September of 2007, Ravenel plead guilty to cocaine distribution under 100 grams as part of a plea deal that his lawyers hoped would help him avoid jail time. The judge wasn’t having it and sentenced him to 10 months in prison. Ummm…convicted felon…messy business with Whitney…buffoon, dunderhead…ridiculous campaign. His loss was certainly not Bravo’s fault, Kathryn’s fault, or anyone else’s fault but his own. He is a natural born fool. Kathryn surely could do better.

Lizbeth, that’s a perfect description of Thomas, in a nutshell: A natural born fool. There just doesn’t seem to be any hope for him. He needs a minder. Even if he tried, he could never get out of his own damn way.

They have to hold fundraisers and attend charity events so they can pretend to be Charleston elite. They’re so not. Otherwise, they’d have nowhere to go and film. But money is money, and it’s nice that some worthy causes benefit.

I’ll watch every second of this show, over and over, no matter what, because I’m obsessed with the Holy City. To me, the characters are like a thin plastic overlay. I mentally peel them back and focus on the homes, the streets, the churches, the wonder that is Charleston.

I could do without it. I liked it but it got too fake. Thomas is an old cranky drunk and whitney and his mommy are annoying. I wish I still loved this show. I think Kathryn will move on to bigger and better. She is fabulous.

Love/hate the show. Embares sedan by TRay’s morals. So wish Kathryn could get her life in order and only interact with Thomas for children’s welfare. Kathryn could do so much with her life once she puts her hormones on hold….just saying.

Being an old school Italian American via CA, I watch this show with a fantasy of being a WASP of the landed gentry-they are much younger than me, but scripted or not, it’s fun! The social rules of the south are fabulous, bring it on!

Please don’t believe these fools represent the “landed gentry.” They aren’t and they don’t. And they certainly don’t represent “social rules” of the South. Their behavior and manners are appalling. If it’s fun to make it your fantasy, enjoy; the only thing thing that’s real on this show is the beauty of the city of Charleston.

As much as Thomas infuriates me I would be sad for him not to be there. It’s that love to hate syndrome. Hope this is true. And now I am quite intrigued by the website you mentioned.
