We’re one eviction away from both of the twins entering the game. Austin is straining his mighty brain trying to figure out how to make that happen. He comes up with Operation Jason where he’ll confess the twin twist to Jason in order to gain his confidence. He tells Liz but leaves out the rest of the Sixth Sense alliance. At the twin swap, Liz whines to Julia that Austin tried to kiss her. Julia is grossed out. I knooooow! Julia thinks Operation Jason is a bad idea but Austin goes ahead with it anyway. When he confirms the twin twist to Jason, Jason is confused why Austin would tell HIM anything. “How does that help you?” Austin, like a bull in a china shop, tells Jason he’s fine with getting rid of Julia as long as he gets to keep Liz with him in the jury house. Oh, Austin! Jason immediately runs to tell Meg. And then tells Shelli. And then tells Vanessa. The Sixth Sense are pissed. Uh oh, Austin. Project Jason has backfired big time.
Everyone checks out Vanessa and Jackie’s HoH rooms. Lots of squealing. James falls in love with a photo of Vanessa’s mom. Jason tells him, “Okay, Caleb.”
Vanessa and Jackie have an HoH summit meeting. First, they agree to not backdoor each other. Jackie wants to nominate Liz and Steve. Jackie sees Liz as a threat because with Austin she has a strong threesome alliance. Vanessa wants to keep Liz but she can’t tell Jackie so the girls agree to backdoor Austin instead. Vanessa, always looking for a reason to get rid of someone, asks Austin about his conversation with Jason. Austin acts vague and doesn’t tell her that he threw Julia under the bus. Vanessa warns him to not lie to her. She really doesn’t like liars. James breaks up the conversation to tell Vanessa once again that he loves her mom. Gross. Austin reassures Vanessa that he didn’t lie but she doesn’t believe him. Vanessa doesn’t know if she should tell the twins about backdooring Austin so she asks Julia if Liz actually likes him. “I don’t think so.” So Vanessa spills Austin’s “betrayal” of Julia. Julia is irate. She already doesn’t like Austin but this throws her over the edge. She promises Vanessa she won’t tell Liz because Liz is still a wild card.
Vanessa tells Shelli and Clay that Austin lied “to her face” about Operation Jason. And everyone knows what happens when you lie to Vanessa… Austin is being backdoored. Jackie joins them in the HoH room to figure out nominations. Clay volunteers to go up with Becky so they can win Battle of the Block and keep Jackie in power. This isn’t the first time Clay has offered to be the pawn. He loooves the attention. Becky agrees to the plan. Next, Vanessa and Jackie meet with James, Jason and Meg to tell them the Austin backdoor plan. James agrees to go up next to Liz and throw it. They come up with a final eight deal: Shelli, Clay, Vanessa, Jackie, Becky, James, Jason and Meg. They name it Dark Moon. It includes most of the house and it’s beyond stupid.
As planned, Jackie nominates James and Liz. Vanessa nominates Clay and Becky. Oh please let James and Liz win Battle of the Block. I’d love to see Clay go home this week. We haven’t seen a single pawn go home yet. This would be the best week to make that happen. C’mon, BB gods, hear my plea!
Battle of the Block Competition
On their way to the Battle of the Block competition, the hamsters pass a photowall of past houseguests (foreshadowing/cheat sheet). The competition is called The Newsroom and is sponsored by Outback Steakhouse. Great. We get another comp that’s just an excuse for an ad. In order to win, James/Liz or Clay/Becky must figure out the headline of which three former houseguests were seen together at Outback Steakhouse (because that’s big news). Each team is placed in their own fully white newsroom. There are white walls, white desks, white cubbies. Players must throw paint over everything to uncover the invisible letters that they paint doesn’t stick to. They’ll use the hidden letters to unscramble the three names in the headline.
As soon as the bell rings, the teams scramble to fling paint. Becky decides they need to rub the paint over the walls after they toss it but it looks like wasted effort. Liz is working hard while James is just playing around, trying to throw the competition. Soon, team Cleckie finds a rhythm where Clay throws paint and finds letters and Becky works on unscrambling the names. James is having fun messing around with the paint but Liz is on fire, determined to save herself. She’s throwing paint and figuring out names at the same time. Clay and Becky think they have it but they’re wrong. Liz is freaking out. She tries three names but is also wrong. She gives up throwing paint and just starts guessing names. It’s down to the wire as both teams seem to have found the correct names. While Becky turns Devon into Hayden, Liz wins! As winners, Liz, James and HoH Vanessa get a private Outback Steakhouse dinner which allows Meg to read a nice Outback Steakhouse ad. As the losing HoH, Jackie gets doused in paint. The Sixth Sense alliance still wants to backdoor Austin but for now Clay remains on the block and I’m a happy girl.
