Big Brother Recap: Battle of the Block(heads)

60 minutes ran late tonight but we’re finally on! They run a recap of episodes 1 & 2. If you’re watching the feeds, it’s really strange to see how far behind the episodes are (sorry, but this is my first year as a feeder and this is all new to me). According to the episodes, James & Jason are HoH, Audrey wants an all-girl alliance and Vanessa and Day are going to get a takeover reward for sitting out of the HoH comps. Day and Vanessa think it’s going to be something good.

Jace and Austin sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g and making up stupid “Bro Codes.” Barf.

Phil Keoghan is back to tell Vanessa and Day they’re getting a Fast Forward to next week (ie: can’t be nominated or evicted this week). And they each get to choose another player to get a FF. Hamsters are scrambling hard for those FF’s. They show a montage of Vanessa politicking but I thought she wasn’t really playing the game for the first couple of days (?). Then we get to see Day doing her thing. I’m enjoying this because I missed the first couple days of feeds. And I finally get to see Dr John (I have only seen him once on the feeds and he didn’t say anything). Oops, spoke too soon. He only said 3 words. Day gives her FF to Liz. Liz promised Day freedom if she gets HoH but I don’t see Liz winning anything. It’s kind of a wasted opportunity and I expected more from Day. Maybe people who watched the early feeds can fill me in on this a little more. My feed is choppy so I didn’t see them name Vanessa’s FF but she gave it to Austin.

BB17 peking Duck

There’s lots of talk. James and Jason want to work together. Jace and Austin name their Bromance “Shell Town.” Sigh. Do they realize they’re both Boogie? Luckily, people are already talking about putting Jace up. They’re also talking about how Shelli is all about the D and isn’t even playing. Fool. The episode is focusing a lot on backdooring Jace. James and Jason are warning almost everyone that they might go up as pawns. Steve is the only one who argues with them about it. Damn, Dr John is pale. Like really pale. Maybe I’m a little sensitive because I’m very pale too but damn. Also, is he hearing impaired? He always shouts and he kind of has a deaf person accent. I could be wrong. I’ve only heard him speak maybe 10 words so far.

Nominations

Jace is wearing his ridiculous front-ponytail at the nomination ceremony. Jason nominates Dr John and Becky. James nominates Steve and Jackie. Throw another pawn on the barbie! Jackie is cocky while Becky cries. Foreshadowing.

Battle of the Block

There are birds, tall buildings and what looks like bird poop everywhere. Nope. On closer inspection, those white blobs are clouds (hey, BB is fond of gross humor so it was a good first guess). The game is called DuBoB (based on Dubai, the fastest growing city in the world). Working on construction scaffolding high above the clouds, teams must build a skyscraper by carrying blocks across 3 rotating balance beams. If you fall or drop your block you have to go back to the beginning. Whoever builds their building and returns to hit the green buzzer first, wins. They get a blueprint of what the building is supposed to look like so they know the order of the blocks they should carry. Jackie is being cocky because “as a dancer” she thinks she’ll do well. Yikes! Not only are the beams rotating but wrecking balls are also trying to knock them off. Needless to say, there are lots of falls. Jace makes a stupid joke about playing Mario Bros because everything Jace says is stupid. Steve decides to crawl to lower his center of balance. It works. They have to start placing the blocks below them and then build up. I keep getting nervous they’ll drop blocks or fall while they’re trying to position the blocks. Jackie is a such a bitch. Steve is trying so hard but she keeps yelling at him. She feels like she deserves the win. John and Becky win! They’re off the block and James stays HoH. James is excited he gets to backdoor Jace. Since the people he nominated won, Jason loses his HoH and gets “cement” dumped on him. Hilarity ensues.

Wednesday  episode: Veto comp.

As a personal aside: This week, I gave in to peer pressure faster than ever before and I’m now an avid feeder. As far as I’m concerned, spoil away…

FYI – Liz is the twin. She and her sister, Julia, are both playing the game, but no one has caught on as yet. They keep exchanging places. You can notice slight differences in them. At one point Day noticed that Lis (really Julia) does not look like her photo on the wall. James also noticed that Liz (really Julia) was acting different one day.

There was an incident where Liz threw a pillow at DaVonne. After a twin switch, “Liz” denied then claimed she doesn’t remember throwing a pillow at DaVonne, even though DaVonne was there & saw her do it. It was hysterical as DaVonne retold the story over to others accusing Liz of being a bold face liar.

It’s funny you mentioned that John is always talking very loudly when he speaks and that he acts as if he’s deaf because as I was watching with some friends of mine who had never seen the show asked me if he was deaf because he was talking so loudly.

BTW Julia is supposed to have a faint mole in the center of her left cheek. I think she is currently talking to Austin.

Is Liz still in the running to win? Wouldn’t production allowing her to switch out with her twin give her a leg up on everyone else? How is that fair? Does anybody know?

I would think it would put them at disadvantage.

Please God, let the backdoor work and send Jace home. Most annoying one in the crowd. So hard to listen to and watch. The front ponytail….makes him look even more like the idiot he is.

I’d rather have a loose egomaniac like Jace in the house instead of the whazherface that is boring as a plastic tree.

That doesn’t exactly narrow it down. If you mean Becky, I am starting to think she might actually start playing soon. If you mean Jackie, I think she’s going to Victoria her way through the season.

Did UF mean Shelli? Last night I heard her complaining to Clay & Audrey that she’s always out of the loop. Uh, that’s on you, Shelli. >

Really I was talking about Jackie, the other nom on the block against Jace. I would prefer she be evicted over Jace just for my own vapid enjoyment of watching people act a fool on the feeds/tv.

I just caught myself sitting there wondering if I want to get rid of Jase because I hate him or if I want to keep Jase because I hate him. I need a new hobby. >

Sorry Jackie is this season’s Vanessa. No one even knows she is there except the straight boys when she gets in the hot tub.

Did Jackie ever start fighting for her spot or is she still just trusting she’ll be safe as the pawn? I took a BB time out today so I’m woefully behind… >

I did see 2 houseguests (and now I can’t remember who) surmising that Clay is older than he admits because why would a 23 year old be interested in ancient Shelli. “Why not Liz? Or Jackie?” Hysterical. >
