Tonight’s recap is by the lovely Lady Cocoette who will be co-blogging with me this season! Follow her on Twitter!
Woo hoo! Night 2 of the Big Brother premiere. Not only do we meet the next 6 hamsters but they’re also giving us the first BB takeover! It’s a big start. They introduce us to Liz jumping in her bikini, Jason being a nerd and Vanessa at the poker table. Liz’s biggest threat is jealous girls. We all know what that means… Jason lives in his mom’s basement but the room is fairly “designed.” Gay nerd? Vanessa seems cool but she looks too much like Gina-Marie for my comfort. Next is John, the incredibly annoying rockstar dentist. He wants to be Dr Will but he’s really Boogie. Becky is outdoorsy and thinks she can manipulate people. She can’t. Steve is a real nerd. I’m not sure he’ll come out of his shell. Mom helps him pack. Liz and Becky are open to showmances. What a shock. If you want more details, find out about all the cast here.
Julie lets them know that the other houseguests are already in and know the twists. Just to reinforce how behind they are. Vanessa is making great faces. Everyone else is kind of focused on looking cool. First group in is Liz, Becky and Steve. The houseguests are super excited for the new hamsters. Steve seems a little overwhelmed. Uh oh. Liz likes Clay. Yay, cat fight in the making. Jace is trying too hard. Jason, John and Vanessa go in. Jason is a trip. He was made for BB. Wow, Dr John is really, really white. Audrey and Vanessa connect. Yes! I hate Liz already.
Party girl Meg opens the champagne again. Da’vonne doesn’t believe John is a dentist. Liz announces she broke up with her boyfriend before BB. Hint hint, boys. Vanessa tells everyone she’s a DJ. Jason is doing his thing and I can’t tell if I love him or hate him. Audrey breaks her news and Jason gives her a snap. Vanessa is proud of her. Yes, let’s get a LGBTQIA alliance going. OMG, Becky is such a Becky. Jace brings up the 2 empty seats at the table. Hmmm.
Phil Keoghan host of the Amazing Race joins Julie as the first #Takeover. I guess those rumored racers ARE the other two houseguests. They show clips of Big Brother hamsters on the Amazing Race (Jeff/Jordan and Brendan/Rachel). Then, they introduce Jeff and Jackie, showing clips from their time on the Amazing Race. I don’t watch TAR so I’m behind the ball on this one but they look annoying. They’re still friends but it seems strained (even if they won’t admit it). “Get ready for a take over!” plays in the house and everyone is freaking out. Phil recaps everything we just saw. The hamsters act happy to greet Jeff and Jackie but it’s not like when the others came in. You can feel the tension. Steve worries about Jeff and Jackie’s tight bond. Everyone else is trying to figure out if they’re a couple or not. Yeah, I don’t like them. She’s high maintenance and he’s a dude. Yawn.
Julie announces it’s time for the 2nd HoH comp. Again, someone has to sit out. Hmmm. In this group, no one wants to sit out but Vanessa agrees to do it. She’s up for the gamble but doesn’t think to ask to be kept safe. Clay suggests that both sit-outs should be safe and everyone agrees. With this many choices no one is feeling scared. Yet. They’re playing a new version of UFOh No. These hamsters are actually acting out the film. They’re clinging to poles and a UFO is trying to suck them up. The last one on their pole wins. The best part is after they get sucked up they get dumped into a pile of hay. This is a weird looking challenge. I’m sure it’s hard but there’s not a lot for us to see. Dr John looks like he’ll go first. Steve doesn’t want to win but he wants to drop out in the middle of the pack. Jason is playing hard, physically and socially. And then they get green slime dumped on them. It looks like puke. Oops, Steve is out first. It looked fairly genuine. No one’s getting sucked up so they dump more slime. Jeff gives up. I hate him. John is out next. Mountain girl Becky is out. Jackie and Liz are close to losing while Jason is just chilling on his pole. Liz finally slips. Jackie and Jason are hanging on. Jason promises not to put Jackie up so she gives up. Jason wins!
Phil Keoghan is back with his “ Takeover.” He tells Da’vonne and Vanessa that sitting out was risky and “with risk sometimes comes reward.” I’m going to be pissed if they get pulled out of the house and put into the Amazing Race. Without them this cast is pretty bland. Damn you, BB!
The live feeds open tonight. I don’t watch them so try and keep comments spoiler-free, if you can (Sorry, we can’t. The whole point of BB is the live feeds!). I’m pretty sure TT will be posting about the feeds soon.
