Pretty much all the Shahs blog this week are of the Q & A variety and for the most part everyone kept it short and sweet. Except for Asifa. And she came for MJ. Do you think this was warranted?
Bravotv.com: How were you feeling going into your first reunion?
Asifa Mirza: I was feeling very anxious and a little jittery. So much happened all season long and there was a tremendous amount of pent up anger on so many different ends. It was like a volcano waiting to erupt. I can confidently say it was an intense feeling for all, kind of like being on the Titanic right after hitting the iceberg. Who would feel comfortable walking onto a sinking boat?
Welcome to reality TV.
Bravotv.com: Were you surprised MJ called you toxic?
AM: No, not at all. All season long I gave her the benefit of the doubt, notwithstanding the fact that I was warned by many (including close friends of hers) of her dubious, equivocal, deceitful, and dishonest ways. MJ is able to strategically manipulate others into believing she is an honest, altruistic person with your best interest at heart. I was most certainly fooled. She is the master of saying sweet nothings to your face and then bashing you behind you back, most times for unwarranted reasons.
I’m surprised at all the attacks on MJ. She is very sweet toward me. We interacted before the first episode of Shahs even aired. We still chat a bit on Twitter. I really didn’t believe that the conflicts with MJ and others were serious because MJ is so… flighty may not be exactly the right word, but as close as I can get. I really don’t believe there is genuine vitriol in MJ. But I suppose I could be wrong.
I completely understand why others were upset with me during my relationship quarrels. I should not have put my friends through that. With that said, MJ was the only joker playing both sides, feeding into our issues by playing both me and Bobby. She is the first person to say we are toxic and also the first and only person willingly feeding me and Bobby her unwelcomed, damaging advice. Her negative comments contributed to us being in the wrong mindset. I think due to her deep rooted issues she enjoys damaging others and their relationships. She herself has many problems when it comes to men and her romantic relationships (they seem to always fail). I would only be interested in helping her rather than hurting her. I would never run to her boyfriends and intentionally destroy her relationships. There were multiple instances where I tried to see the good in her (when she would feed me sweet compliments to my face and we had what I thought were deep conversations) and then I would be told by Golnesa and Asa that MJ berates me behind my back. Boy was I fooled!
Well me too if that were true. But I don’t really see Golnesa and Asa as people who would cut MJ down behind her back. Supposedly, Asifa and GG are tight, but I don’t believe that GG would bad mouth MJ to Asifa. At least not in any serious way. I’ve actually had conversations with GG and MJ and Reza (though Reza eventually blocked me 🙁 ) I feel like I got to know them a tiny bit before the show. And the ONLY person who is still the same person is Asa. It’s kind of sad. Actually, Reza may be the same person too. My first contact with Reza was after I called him a “sockless wonder” here while discussing the fact that a woman alleged he assaulted her during the filming of a season one episode. This was back when there were just like FIVE people reading here and I was the ONLY person jazzed about the show. P.S. I actually found this story by searching for “sockless” because his lack of socks annoyed me in the initial photos for the show. There are lots of interesting Shahs stories and interviews here in January, February and March of 2012 if you are interested on how they were before the show.
Amongst all this darkness I believe all humans including MJ have some light in their souls. Maybe one day she will discover it and be a happier person and release herself from her internal prison.
Well, Asifa, you don’t seem very happy either. And clearly, your relationships also tend to fail as well. So who are you to criticize MJ for her relationships when yours are no better?
Bravotv.com: What went through your mind when GG accused Mike of sleeping with her sister?
AM: No comment… GG and I go way back, and its better for me to not be involved in the GG and Mike hoopla. Mike is a big boy and can handle it on his own.
So you go way back with Golnesa and yet you are not taking her side? Interesting.
