Nene Leakes Moves Into Her Big Fancy House

May 25, 2015 by tamaratattles 99 Comments

RHOA nene house exterior

Today is movie day, and Nene Leakes posted a vine about it on her website wearing her trademark white T-shirt.  Brentt and her man-servant Gregg are seen hand carrying in some personal stuff as they arrive at the new home.  The outside of the house is a bit deceiving of what lies inside.

I really like the wrought iron railings on the stairway.  And the layout of the house.  I hope that she posts more photos of the finished look.  Who am I kidding, she will probably call People for a five page spread. I’m dying to know what Nene’s interior design choices will be. I’m envisioning a black and white theme but that just may be because of all the bare white walls and black ironwork.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The new property, which appears to belong exclusively to  Linnethia Leakes  is located in Sugarloaf Country Club in Duluth. The purchase price was $2,075,000 and was purchased on February 27th.  FYI, the “Zestimate” is $1,592,910.

The property  is a new home that was built last year.  The lot was originally $268,000 back in 2003 and was eventually unloaded in December of 2012 for $117,000.  All gated communities in the Atlanta  area took a HUGE hit in 2008-09, perhaps the largest hit in the country. Property in Atlanta has been steadily recovering but has still not reached 2008 value levels in many areas.

The Mediterranean  two-story has a studio with a separate kitchen for Brentt or guests. The back of the house has tons of windows and glass door with views of the pool and covered porch area. The 6 bedroom 6.5 bath is 9,511 square feet and sits on a one acre lot. The kitchen is decked out with marble counter tops and Viking appliances as well as 10 foot kitchen cabinets (um how does that work?).  The main level has travertine flooring.

Congrats to Nene on her very first house!  It truly is lovely!  And she seems SUPER excited to be moving in.

Nice house. Can’t wait to see how she fucks it up. What? If I gotta be nice when it comes to nene and her taste or lack thereof, I’m going to have to leave forever.

So, here, in my Neither-Yankee-Not-Redneck state, it doesn’t matter whose name the house is in. If it’s purchased during the marriage it’s community property and half of the equity belongs to each. My first house was actually just in my name because it was easier to only have to fill out one set of paperwork and have only one of us have to take off work for settlement it didn’t matter because it was community property and my assets and income alone were enough for the mortgage we were seeking. What’s the deal in Georgia? Does Gregg own half either way? Is not listing him just another way to show she keeps his balls under her wig? (Different than my case because no one ever cared to look at my home ownership records. She has to know that people will find that out and it will look bad for him.). Or maybe he just has credit issues and having his name on the deed created mortgage issues.

I just don’t understand the fascination with this horrid woman Nene. She is loud, obnoxious, and alienates everyone she meets. Lastly, anyone who makes a public commitment to make a donation to any non-profit must follow up. Especially if she can turn around and buy a million dollar home. Based on her bad behavior karma will bite her bigtime… she will definitely lose this home, and end up homeless.

I just can’t believe the real estate prices in Atlanta. Where I live we have some of the highest real estate prices in the world. Phaedra’s house cost about the same as my 2-bedroom 1100 sq foot 20 year old townhouse. And nothing has been renovated since construction. I get jealous every time I see her place. 🙁

I didn’t see a bridge, but I trust that there is one if you say so. I did walk across the bridge in Chateau Sheree though and all I could think about is WHAT A WASTE OF SPACE? Not even a loft? And OMG at the heating and cooling bills.

In Chateau Sheree there is the HUGE Foyer (waste square footage) and then the best room in the house, the great room with a giant fireplace and floor to ceiling windows. It is very dramatic and lovely even when only in early construction stages. There is a walkway across all of that, with the giant floor to ceiling two story foyer on the left and the great room with two story ceilings on the other side. AND ALL THE WINDOWS.

It’s not just a waste of the second floor square footage, but IT WILL BE THOUSANDS A MONTH to heat and cool alone. I’m not sure I posted about Sheree going to a kitchen cabinet store an buying the most expensive stuff they sell and then trying to sell them the shit she allegedly took from the house with Bob.

Sheree will lost that house three months after she moves in. Isn’t that about how long it take to get your power shut off?

The bridge was scary to walk across because there was just subflooring and no rails at the time. and the rooms on either side were either oddly round and/or very small I don’t know who designed the house but it is all kinds of fucked up with regard to using your square footage. The best thing and the center piece of Chateau Sheree is the great room.

I don’t know if I’m referring to it correctly. There’s a picture showing it in that slide show you posted. It spans from side of the second floor to the other side of the house on the second floor. Looks like a hallway with no walls just wrought iron railings. It’s in the picture immediately following the kitchen picture in the slideshow.

Yeah that sounds like the Chateau Sheree concept. I read all my comments in email or I would never get through them all. I’m too tired to go look lol.

If I win 233 million in mega millions next week. I will not be buying a 10 thousand square foot house. I’ve bot 1,100 now and really if I just had a washer dryer and dishwasher capabilities (really it is not possible here) I’d be fine.

The main thing that would happen if I won 233 million dollars is I would live on an island and fly Banjo and I there on our private jet.

The problem is that she is so insecure she needs to tell everyone about her successes and it makes it hard to have any positive feelings for her. I find her sad.

Rolly you are absolutely right. Its hard to celebrate her success. I will not be shock if this house becomes the major topic in her conversation next season demanding if the other ladies have enough money to own a house. Nene is good example of what the french call “nouveau riche” (new rich), lacks grace or mannerism in her new acquired wealth. Nene is a hard working woman that her success could be admired but she makes it hard to notice.

Completely agree. She’s just so unlikeable. It’s hard to have any positive thoughts for her. The inside of the house is lovely. The outside is hideous. They need to put in some big old trees to soften up the front of the house.

Well I say good for her if she can afford it. Like others here have said she’s so hateful and obnoxious that its hard to offer congrats to her but its her money and she earned it so I guess she can spend it however she likes. I spend too much of mine on fast food and beer so I’m not one to judge although I don’t understand paying almost a half million more than it’s valued at, especially since she keeps saying what a smart businesswoman she is. I wonder if buying that large a house in the Atlanta area means she’s accepted that she’ll never have a real hollywood career? I mean, why lay out that kind of cash for that big of a house if you think you’re going to be spending most or your time working in Los Angeles or New York?

I have not been a fan of Nene’s for quite some time. I have even made comments on her being “rich bitch” and said she was an idiot for leasing expensive cars and using permanent markers on Birkin bags rather than buying a home for her family. So now I will say CONGRATS Nene on the purchase of your 1st home. I mean that’s pretty cool for everybody. I don’t know what changed her mind but it certainly makes more sense. With a lot of luck and hard work, she can build equity and may eventually own her home. Her taste in the style of home may not be the same as mine or any other commenter in here but she is the one who will live there. I personally like the ironwork. Either way kudos Nene on your new home. And yes that was much harder than my usual snark lol.

I don’t see any 10-foot cabinets in that kitchen unless it’s that thing along the wall on the left side of the photo.

Beautiful house. However, Nene needs intensive mental health counseling much more than she needs a new house. That is one miserable, nasty, hateful, delusional woman. And, because she has cruelly mocked other people’s painful emotions for years she needs her behind kicked for becoming overwhelmed by her own emotions on national tv. I’m a sympathetic person by nature, but my sympathy button seems to turn itself off automatically when it comes to Nene.

You really don’t seem like a sympathetic at all. You can’t be a cunt and then claim that you are sympathetic. If you want to be a cunt own it. Don’t be a cunt and then end it with, I’m normally such a lovely person.

It’s hard to be happy for someone who rubs their success in your nose. I’m not a Ne-Ne fan, but let the countdown start for her loud mouth bragging and display of wealth to everyone…something I never see Kandi do who has more…
I wonder if NeNe will name her new mansion “The Chateau NeNe” hahahahaha

See…this is the problem with Bravo fans…how in the hell are we supposed to be so happy for a broke housewife who happened to be on the show? All this fronting all these years…i mean i actually feel duped that we have been watching. Real Broke Housewives for the past few years…talking about Phaedra and her non-existent income too..i am not celebrating no one who finally got a house for cutting the negroid fool when so many others had to work for it. Good for Nene hell…

I really like her house. It reminds me of the McMansions here in Maryland. I do hope she gets some nice landscaping though. I also am curious to see it once decorated. At least her house was purchased and is now occupied unlike her former cast mates home.

Eve nif I dont like a lot of what nene does, Im not going to be a hater and find something negative to say, It sure is 100 times better than my place right now.

Who cares about past money issues, when you get your finances back straight and can afford purchases like this, youll be laughing all the way to the bank, literally.

Good for Nene but I wonder is she took into account property upkeep and utilities for home that size. Gated communities don’t play about the appearance of your home…you must keep it tight at ALL times or deal with the consequences. As we’ve seen Mrs. Leakes is very “ignant” at times and can’t deal with anyone telling her what to do.

.RHOA fans have short memory losses and cant remember that donation that Nene refuse to give to the kids and have the nerve to drag God in it. A new house does not erase characters. I wonder if the fans werent so gullible would Andy have casted actual housewives like he did for all his white only franchises. Oh shhhhhh..im “hating”…the old ghetto slang for blacks who acquire wealth thru questionable actions and means…whatever….and the house is ugly minus the iron-wrought rails…that is all

Where on earth did anyone say that buying a house erases character flaws? This is not a post about Nene’s character or lack there of. It’s a post about her buying a house.

It is interesting that so many people can’t comment on that topic without listing all the numerous and valid reasons they hate her and reminding us all about her lack of character as if we have somehow forgotten all of her transgressions.

Most of us have expressed our opinions of Nene here numerous times. I am just perplexed about the people who have to continuously remind us all how they feel about someone ten, twenty times a day.

I’ve posted about Nene’s financial problems since 2011. She and Greg were on the local news for ripping people off before SEASON ONE aired. They are grifters. They were never rich. Nene’s car was (allegedly) repoed in a Wal Mart parking lot. And Sheree’s was seized by the court to pay her debts (allegedly) she still parks her porshe in a Storage Shed each night. The only RHOA that ever had her own money was Kandi.
