OMG the little troll aunts are something else! It’s worth watching just to see their ratchet behavior surrounding the hotel room assignments. Apparently they feel they were assigned rooms in a dungeon whereas the rest of the family are living it large in their rooms. And Momma Joyce and my least favorite aunt start off by threatening to throw snowballs with rocks in the center at Todd because nobody get’s in between them and what they want. Just wicked users those two.

Yes, TT watch it. I didn’t think I would but it was good. And I’m with Wonky Tonk, that family is the most ungrateful bunch of hateful people I’ve ever seen in my life. Give ME a free trip somewhere and I’ll show you grateful. Geez. I’m wondering if she’s been carrying the whole bunch on her shoulders financially for years? It wouldn’t surprise me.

I wondered the same thing about her helping them out with $$ all this time, by the way they said Kandi hasn’t called or been close in 4 years and were so sure about it all. I think they may be missing her checks. What a bunch of nasty women. I have some relatives I would trade for a snake, but I think I would keep them over Kandi’s aunts. Miserable human beings. I would love to know just off ‘well off’ they all are, that they considered that first room so awful. I fear they will add to the blame Todd for everything along with Joyce to cause even more problems. I just can’t deal with Joyce. She is nasty mean. BTW I think that both the girls (forget daughters names now) needed a major attitude adjustment in that room. They are going to run Kandi before long.

Yep, Kandi and Mama Joyce’s relationship is horrible but I was shocked to see how Kandi backed down to Riley, too. What is Kandi afraid of? She had to go running to Todd about it. SMH Ridiculous Kandi should be embarrassed, and Riley… she should be ashamed for acting that way – good grief, it was for her own aunts, not a stranger. She acted like a toddler. Dysfunctional is much too mild of a word to use to describe it. ‘Beyond pathetic’ seems to fit it pretty well. Gosh, I wish Kandi knew people would still love her even if she said no to them occasionally.

I am currently watching the early seasons of Man Men on Netflix. I am hooked and wish that I was able to watch the current shows and the final season. I have no interest in Kandi or her family and can’d stand her mother or her, for that matter. I am really done with the Atlanta crew because they are contrived and not at all “real” in my opinion. If Mama Joyce and Kandi’s other relatives really act the way that they are depicted on television than I am horrified that people like this really exist. Wish you could recap Mad Men instead……

I have a feeling the whole “room thing” was contrived Bravo drama. Kandi seems great to her family. The simple fact they are on the show making money from her fame makes me doubt the whole “ingrate” storyline.

DJ, I agree, “the room thing” seemed contrived. Isn’t Riley only 12 years old? Riley and Kaela both said they didn’t want to swap rooms with the aunts and cousin. Riley looks older than 12, but she’s just a kid. I don’t think people should be talking about her.

Not to mention Kandi’s BFF Rashida played the same “my marriage is in trouble card” on that disgraceful Love and Hip Hop Atlanta all the while posing happily in Kandi’s pics on Facebook. I know the show is fake but it sure doesn’t make Kandi look good allowing Riley to behave that way. They should have gone straight to DonJuan and Carmen changing rooms rather than showing Riley being disrespectful and Kandi letting her get away with it.

I am totally not interested in watching Kandi and her greedy, warped relatives. I used to really like Kandi until I saw how selfish and emotionally detached she seems to be. I used to like Todd until I saw how willing he is to be Kandi and her family’s doormat apparently so he can keep living the high life. After the way Kandi and her family treated his mother, I don’t see how he can even stand to look at them. As for Riley, I usually don’t comment on kids. However, I’m making an exception because she is the most disrespectul, ill-mannered, snarky little girl I’ve ever seen on TV, including Honey Boo-Boo. If she goes out into the world being that way, its just a matter of time before somebody knocks that nasty little smirk off of her face. Kandi and whoever Riley’s father is have totally failed that child in teaching her the basics, e.g., always respect your elders, warmly welcome people who come to her home, etc.

The lot of them should be kissing Kandi’s ass. None of their high roller lifestyle would be possible without her. I wonder how they’d behave if the money dried up?

RIley is a young girl. Bratty and spoiled? Perhaps. She doesn’t have an ordinary childhood. Her mother always travels and the grandmother isn’t much of a moral compass. You’re right though Pat. Riley needs to learn how to communicate. She hardly ever talks, and then when she does she says something rude. Really reminds me a lot of Joyce.

I was shocked at how Riley is so “vocal” with her mom…it’s certainly a new generation I don’t get.

Mama Joyce’s apology made my skin crawl. That over-rehearsed apology…there’s got to be a special place in hell for that level of insincerity.

Re: Todd: while Kandi has money for days, I don’t think there’s any “high life” she provides for Todd that he already hasn’t experienced by virtue of his career: film, fashion, & tv production keeps you traveling, sampling hotels, eating at world renown restaurants & entertaining in clubs all on expense account…it’s a physically and emotionally draining industry (because of long hours and lack of personal life when you’re working), but the perks are substantial. Todd may not match Kandi in income, but coming from a mainstream television background he’s certainly self-sufficient financially and can match her in terms of life experience.

I think Kandi is a cute girl, super-cute actually, and very well meaning…but there are so many red flags there in terms of her familial relationships…I’m all for anyone’s marriage to work, but sheesh…it’s going to be an uphill battle for them to be sure. That said, with this motley crew of old crones who (according to Kandi) have never had successful marriages or committed relationships in their own lives: what therefore God hath joined together let no man (or Mama-cousin-auntie) put asunder.

Dammit! I’m not proud of this, but I’m probably gonna watch. Kandi and Todd actually look as though they like each other and they’re getting along. That’s nice.

When I watched that trailer I had to do a double take. I thought Aunt Bertha’s little water bottle with the black straw was a makeshift bong. I would love to see those two smoke weed and then watch the comedy ensue. That would be television!

I’m glad that it at least looks like Kandi’s gonna have a stern talk with those two awful employees/friends of hers. Sorry, friendship and business don’t mix. It’s like drinking and driving.

Mama Joyce! Jesus! She needs to just do her calisthenics and shut up. I’m actually glad Carmon was bold enough to bring up Sharon. MJ needs to choke down a little bit of her own foul tasting medicine. Poor Todd, and Sharon (RIP).

Aunt Bertha is my least favorite. Nora I like a lot, and it seems like Sharon did too. I like Nora enough to want to sit down and have lunch with her and just let her talk.

    @Wonky Tonk Yes! Trolls!
@Rolly Yes! Kandi is smart to show her unruly family. It makes her look like a martyred saint in comparison.

I believe Todd’s daughter is going to pick up a lot of bad habits from Riley. Those girls know Kandi is a pushover. Todd deserves better in-laws and Kandi deserves more support from her family. How do you expect a newlywed to spend time every waking moment with her mother, 3 aunts and cousin? Once you are married, your duty is to the family you chose, not the one you were born into. Exactly. I thought for sure Kandi’s people were church folk and would have caught onto this concept sooner. What kills me is that many folks claim that they are “believers”/Christian/ ect., but then don’t believe in applying biblical principles to marriage (many of which should just fall under every day common sense). One day you grow up, and go on to create a new family of your own on the branch of your family tree. Therefore, 1. You leave your father and mother to get married, create your own home, and CLEAVE to your spouse 2. When you marry you become a TEAM with your spouse, & what God has joined together, stand UNITED 3. As a team, you and your husband submit to each other (TRANSLATION: check your EGO and COMPROMISE) with the same love you would have for God when doing so for Him. Everybody’s then on the same page, & it keeps conflict down to a minimum. A lot of times, relationships are compared to gardens and trees and the fruit they bear, and with Kandi’s family, while I see strong roots (impenetrable even!), it’s clear a lot of things are rotten branch and leaf wise. This is not a healthy, productive family tree outside of the on Kandi stalk that keeps flourishing with everyone else feeding off of it (be it monetarily OR psychologically) . Kandi will never be able to branch off into a healthy life of her own because her foundation is, for lack of more poetic description, sick and diseased. BTW, Danny, did you notice on RHOA now that Porsha has accepted her reality pop culture title of “Princess of THOTLANDIA” and giggles about Nene describing her Twerking in the strip club that she’s suddenly very vocal about women following their husbands and being on “their side”, like HUH???? Girl…

Aunt Bertha’s first real life problem was the 2 hour bus ride to the ski lodge during which she was unable to stop for a cigarette. Strike 1. She was going through nicotine withdrawal which put her in a nasty mood to start. Then Todd’s geeky assistant offered her everything including a “feet rub” when she wanted to be left alone lmao. Strike 2. Then she and her sister were put in the farthest house from the main part that she called the dungeon. Strike 3. She was so angry she started to look like Carrie from the movie and I half expected the whole place to spontaneously combust. Either that or her to use her lighter to accomplish the same thing. There you go Kandi. You haven’t paid proper homage to your elders and you actually think this free trip is going to make up for that? Wow don’t you know that no good deed goes unpunished with this group? Enjoy the rest of your family ski trip. You may have put out one fire but I’m sure it won’t be the last lol.

Didn’t you see her light up as soon as she got off the bus and refuse to go inside. She probably smoked 5 or 6 before she was satisfied.

I do agree with the idea that at their age, the elderly aunties should not have been housed with too much walking distance and stairs involved, but that fault lies with whoever made the room assignments, and Kandi wasn’t immediately aware of what was going on. That said, they made a room switch to accommodate the aunties age and physical condition (as they should have) and that really should have been the end of it. As for Aunt Bertha’s cigarette withdrawal, 2 hours is not that long to wait. My husband gets through his work day just fine without his cigarillos, and my mother, bless her heart is right within Kandi’s aunties age range and can handle a 2 hour break without her Benson & Hedges Menthols without having a temper tantrum – she even respects no-smoking rules when visiting other family members’ homes and plans her cigarette breaks accordingly. Aunt Bertha was was just being ornery with misdirected anger.

Did you hear Don Juan in reference to Matthew (the host): “They gonna push your little pale ass over a cliff.” He says this with a totally straight face. I almost died laughing. And Matthew’s soooo nice. If it were me, I’d be very coldly polite. Very WASP and snooty, which I’m not. But The OLG, Old Lady Gang, totally deserves it. One vlogger calls them the 2 Live Crew. I realized during the first five minutes that the absences of Mama Joyce from RHOA all season made it much more enjoyable!
I am struggling to understand what Kandi thinks she accomplishes as the audience sees these people behaving the way they do- she seems to not just accept their behavior, but to tolerate and accommodate it- and she appears weak and pathetic as her mother, daughter, step-daughter, and relatives walk all over her. She objects to- and disagrees to some degree with Todd- but not with all these misbehaving , mean- spirited, selfish jerks. I have lost so much respect for her- am sure it is scripted, but then at some point the real Kandi needs to put this behavior in place- and it never happens.
Kandi’s career has certainly not taken off since connecting with Bravo- yes, she’s on RHOA but these short-term series miss the mark, raising serious doubts about who she is and what she believes in. The separate show about the music business failed completely, we hear about no songs she is writing,- Kandi, what do you want us to know about you?

Outspoken?!!! She hardly ever talks! Is that how Mama Joyce raised Kandi? I highly doubt it. I don’t see Riley being a boss. She doesn’t have the guts to actually speak up for herself or to give a well articulated argument for anything. And yeah, you can usually tell how a kid’s gonna turn out pretty early on.

A good boss knows how to steer an organization in a certain direction. Set goals, meet them, and then set new, better goals. All of this takes solid communication and people skills and tremendous resolve. Does it look like Riley would fare well in the real world? Is she a leader or a follower? I don’t know the kid, so I can’t really tell.

It does seem to me that the children of wealthy people usually don’t match their parents’ vim and vigor for achievement. Perhaps precisely because of this sort of coddling. They never really even entertain the possibility of becoming homeless or realize how hard it is to find a good, fulfilling job. I could be wrong.

I liked Kandi’s Ski Trip because it highlighted the two families also how kind Kandi is to her family and friends. Yes I think she and Todd might be producers but why is that a big deal? I don’t blame them at all do your thing. I will be watching all three episodes to see if they wind up blending as a family. It is worth watching but then I like Kandi and Todd so there won’t be any criticism, shade or rocks thrown from me. Applause to anybody who can get on TV, get good ratings and make a show successful enough to get a mini-spin off. Go Bravo, go Kandi and Todd. lol

@TT I had an ex-daughter in law who said that same thing about her girls (my granddaughters) the ” I’m raising them to be outspoken so they can be a boss or leaders”…..that is a crock of bs. That type of parenting (imo) tells the kid they have NO boundaries (that’s for those other kids) you and the kid are on the same playing field e.g. you all are “friends” and buds. Then over time when you get a rude smart mouth ill mannered kid that nobody can stand, there is something wrong with the world that doesn’t accept your perfect little “creation”. To me that type of parenting sets the kid up for failure, considering the type of world we live in now.

Troll #1 Aunt Bertha #2 MJ #3 Aunt Nora (a little, and she used to be the reasonable one) Trollette # 1 Riley, she has real good teachers in the whiney, ungrateful examples in her grandma and aunt Bertha. I just don’t understand how Kandi can let them get on tv with that ratchet mess. Are the checks that damn good? And it seems the only one who can push Kandis’ buttons is MJ. While Kandi is sitting there just crying all overself, MJ sits there looking at her with an almost smirk and completely dry eyes and so do the aunts. I hope nothing ever happens to Kandi cause that family is so used to her being a cash cow with no bottom, til they would REALLY be a bigger mess without her money.

I still cannot believe Kandi allows her relatives to mooch off of her AND verbally abuse her at the same time. Why are they not being nice to her?!!!

Maybe I’m a cold-hearted bitch, but I wouldn’t have even let it get to that point. Family or no, you don’t fuck around with me, nowhere, nohow! Kandi must be at least a little resentful. I think that’s why she’s allowing these people to make shitty asses of themselves on national TV.

What about the apology from Mama Joyce to Todd? I was SHOCKED … for her to show up at the grave site, then apologize and for Todd to seem to breakdown in her arms … whew! It was refreshing to see them (hopefully) break down a barrier between them and (hopefully) build a relationship from an awful but shared experience as the death of people who mean so much to them. That scene couldn’t have been for TV but hopefully will lead to a better life for them all.

I thought it was ok. While I would usually watch the RHOA repeat at 10, I watched King of Queens on TVLand. Todd’s assistant should have brought enough tea for everyone even if he had to make it instead of going to Starbucks. Production probably placed Kandi’s aunts in those rooms to create drama. I think the rooms themselves were ok but the distance from the main cabin, the additional steps, and icy/wet conditions are of concern. I was shocked when Riley and Kaela didn’t want to change rooms and Kandi just went to tell Todd. I was even more shocked that the girls didn’t have to change rooms simply because they didn’t want to and said please. They were all at Kandi’s birthday celebration last night so I think they’re all in a good place now…even Phaedra was there.

It would have been free from Bravo, so why not give the other one away to someone who couldn’t afford it? I know the rich get richer and are given all kinds of free stuff, but Kandi can afford anything she wants.

It just seemed greedy to me. In fact, I’ve never heard a charitable word come out of her mouth. I’d bet every bit of $$$ she has, is saved or only spent on family. I’d be such an generous rich person. : )
