I have missed the last episode of Blood, Sweat & Heels because Andy Cohen insists on tacking WWHL to the end of things while kicks this show out of my DVR line up. This week I caught on and was able to tape a repeat.
Mica and Demetria are meeting up for a Bravo lunch. In his case I think it is one of those lunches where both parties are expecting an apology from the other and not willing to give one.
At the aptly named Crabby Shack, the two finally sit down for some crab rolls and conversation. Mica asks Demetria why she doesn’t like her. Demetria says that last season she was very loud and drunk. Both parties feel like the other has been attacking them. No one apologized but they sort of agreed to disagree. They end with a selfie to document their détente, as is the custom.
Melyssa and Arzo are out shopping at a place called Blend. I want to shop there. These two are going to visit Arzo’s family in San Francisco. Melyssa tries to convince Arzo to bring her black rapper boyfriend home to meet her parents.
Arzo is nervous to visit her parents. Yestirday (the boyfriend) is a bit hurt that Melyssa will meet her parents first. He seems very young. And tattooed. Her parents are very strict and she seems afraid to disappoint them. Yet, look who she picked for a boyfriend.
They have a great dinner with all of Arzo’s family. The food looks amazing. Arzo’s mom is guilt tripping her for moving all the way to New York. She cries and everything. So Arzo chickens out on telling her about her man.
Chantelle drops in on Daisy. Daisy’s apartment is as messy as my house. At least she has a good excuse. Daisy is taking chemo by pill now and it is wearing her out.
Geneva is starting a new website she hopes to be similar to the Huffington Post, but for black women. Thank god she has her Bravo check to pay the bills. She is crazy if she is spending thousands of dollars for web design. She settled on the name “Jawbreaker” for her site. I love the name. Geneva wants to write lots of sex articles.
Demetria is getting married in six weeks. She is having a dress made that will take four weeks. Hopefully. I love her venue. She is only inviting close friends and her castmates. They will be taking a vow to support their marriage.
Mica’s grandmother is gravely ill. She is going to die soon, she is 91. The chaplain has already been called in. Grandma is not in the hospital. Mica takes her grandmother out with her mother. Grandma keeps nodding off and looks hot and miserable at the outdoor café in Maryland.
Next week: Demetria launches her book. Chantelle gets thrown out of the book signing for breaking a wine glass. Daisy has more tests and a break down.
Wow reading what you wrote sounds uneventful. Wonder if the ratings reflect the same.
Blend is the name of Arzo showroom business. Arzo is 37 and boyfriend 27. She’s funny if she thinks she has time to wait til his career takes off. Baby wise.
I like this show alot. Chantelle has lots of great one liners. Daisy is funny too, especially her “and rude” afterthought in her talking head.
Thx for recap.
L’ast season I didn’t like Mica at all but really admire her this season. Maybe it was just all she was going through with her father’s death last year but she did seem to be drunk a lot and it isn’t a good look for her. Her staying by Daisy’s side is very sweet. Demetria is hard for me to like but I did like it when she saw Chantelle and Arzo arguing and wondered if that’s what she and Mica looked like. Introspection is always a good thing in my book. I don’t know how Arzo can be serious about anyone named Yestirday.
I cannot force myself to watch this show, because. Don’t give a rat’s about any of these women or their fights, broken wine glasses, petty arguments, lunches, businesses, worthless products, hissy fits or anything else about them. Just like that shitfest, “Married to Medicine.” There’s only so many times I can watch the same formula play out with different people.
To me, this show is way less ratchet than any of the RH franchises. They have their moments, but they all have storylines that are interesting. And Daisy who I didn’t care for last season, is breaking my heart this time. Next week is going to be hard to watch.

I have a new found respect for Daisy this season…. I got choked up when Chantelle kindly insisted on straightening up Daisy’s room. That’s what good people do. They tell you to shut up & sit down while they support you in some sort of way.
Love Mica, Daisy and Melyssa’s friendship!
I like the business aspect. I like progressing towards a goal vs just petty fighting amongst smart women. That’s such a waste of intellect.
None seem particularly successful. Arzo Dad was saying how smart Arzo was and Melissa chimmed in and said she (Arzo) is successful. Dad says “so where’s the money?” Crickets.
But I like how real they are vs faking it like housewives. It feels like we’re watching the next Bethenny only she’s ethnic;)
I actually enjoy this show more than RHOA. These women are actually showing their lives instead faking an entire life for TV. Considering life events can bring forth a person’s character, having a wedding, funeral, sickness, thriving businesses, starting businesses etc gives reason to watch. They seem to interact with each other well enough not to nauseat me. I’ll watch some more episodes to wash out the bad aftertaste from rhoa.
I’m definitely in.
I love Daisy and Melissa. Even with a cancer diagnosis Daisy seems like a fun person to be around compared to some of the others (Geneva/Demetria). I like Mica but I don’t want to see her elderly relatives die off each season. I don’t like Geneva or Demetria. They might be talented writers but they are both elitists and lack compassion – Geneva is the worse on both fronts. Chantelle is beautiful and sassy – like her. And Arzo is just wasting time with her current boyfriend there is no way she is going to introduce him to the family.
I don’t necessarily think Arzo his fooling herself about Yesterday. I think she easily falls for her parents guilt but is a rebel kind of like the brother who swore at the dinner. She just isn’t as gutsy.
I liked this show, the first series and I like it now with the expanded cast.
I like Demetria, and how she composed and stoic she is. It’s great to see a reality show participant who is dignified and not always trying to act extra. Speaking of extra, Mica has grown on me some and I understand her personality a little better. It also helps that she has been sober and not sloppy drunk like almost every episode last season. Chantal and Arvo can kick rocks, their stories are so contrived and uninteresting. I really don’t believe that Yesterday fool is her man, I think it’s a promotional opportunity for him. The storyline is so dumb: you want us to believe you can’t bring yourself to tell your parents about your boyfriend that you’re filming scenes with on a reality show. I can’t. It’s so beyond stupid. I feel for Daisy and I wish her well, she has a great heart and personality. I’m on the fence about Geneva/Melyssa. Both of them are inherently unlikeable for different reasons, and they both have an affect (Chantal too) that is very high school mean girl. Insincerity oozing out of their pores. Anyway I love the showcase of professional women who are achieving through hard work rather than landing a rich sponsor/husband.
This is bothering me: last season had a small pretty girl, parents had a house in the Hamptons, she is not on this season, I’m not surprised. Is there another girl missing from last season? I think there is, she was compared to Wesley Snipes, or is that Geneva?
I feel Arzo’s boyfriend choice is so extremely unexpected, are we being punked? How did that kid come into her orbit for it to be possible to develop a big connection? It seems so off, not only with her upbringing, but her own age and ambition. He is an extremely unexpected left turn. Now if it was a Geneva or Mica choice, I could follow, both are a little “out there”.
Does anyone know anything currently regarding Daisy? I am so worried for her. This is someone giving life 100% and getting truly kicked in the ass. So unlike Kim Richards, I don’t think she tries, just blames everyone else. I know the diseases are totally different. But, can you just imagine Kim with cancer?
I am liking this season over the first one. It had a lot of fighting, most due to Mica drinking, see, she uses her Dad as excuse! Do any drunks ever just own it? On another show I watched a drunk uses Kim’s “slip” term, I hear it as a way to minimize and only slightly acknowledged their f-up! Like we don’t see them.
A couple of weeks ago Daisy was a guest on Watch What Happens Live with Andy and she did say that she was doing & feeling better.
Thanks UF, I even watch that. I guess my old brain is getting momentarily confused, because I saw this episode after WWHL. The preview of Daisy in next week’s episode had me scared for her. DUH, I should have known she is feeling better now. I hope she is cured, because she would not want to loose business opportunities, she may keep lots on the D L. about anymore than she has to.
Bree is the girl who’s not on the show anymore – she got pregnant. And yes, Geneva is Wesley Snipes.
Thanks, BK.
I watched every episode of this show and I can’t for the life of me conjure up a face or a job for Bree. The name is familiar but….

She is on Twitter! Super nice! She had a beautiful baby and took time off to concentrate on being a mommy! Her family is big in construction or real estate or something like that! Follow her and you will see what I mean!
To me, Geneva is forgettable this season.
T
Brie was fair complected, mid-shoulder full brown/black hair that was ALWAYS going on and on about her family’s philanthropic endeavors. Kinda milk-toast character that is actually quite forgettable. I didn’t really understand why she was there-she didn’t work, just did the whole “lending of my name” for various charities. When they publicized the show for this season, it took me a minute to figure out who was missing.
Oh I remember her. She was the one with the house in the Hamptons where Mica had the meltdown. She never really did much but sit there being rich.

This show is a breath of fresh air compared to any RH franchise, especially RHOA. Mica, Daisy, Melyssa and Demetria are my faves. I was glad to see Mica and Demetria make up and I thought they apologized. Geneva is always too out there for me. My heart breaks for Daisy and her situation and it’s nice Mica and Chantelle are supporting her. I know firsthand from a prior health challenge, and observing other friends, that friends don’t always support even those we consider good friends. I hope we don’t discover next week her cancer has spread further or that Microsoft granny has passed. .. This time of year is awful hard for me with lots of my Mom, my aunt and my granny and I identify with Mica’s family….bittersweet.
This show is one of my favorites because it highlights women who are working and want to launch or promote their brand. Love the scenes with Mica and her grandmother. Watching Daisy tell her staff was difficult to watch. I was crying with them. So it is good to know that she is better. TT thanks for the recap, it is appreciated!
