Okay, Kandi Burruss is going to take her crying on the road today and appear on the Dr. Oz show with Todd to talk about her fertility issues.
I was really hoping they would be at the beginning. Alas, I am suffering through at juice cleanse double segment for you. You’re welcome. While we wait, do you guys think this is all for her spinoff storyline? Because despite all the on camera fighting, they seem all fine and dandy on twitter and Instagram.
In the opening package they state that Kandi and Todd’s marriage is stronger than ever. Dr. Oz says that their first year looked a bit rough. Kandi said it was a major adjustment period. He asks if they regret having it all play on television. Kandi says, “Well especially watching it all play out on this season, we could have kept some things to ourselves.” Todd says it was good they let it all play out. He says that people on the streets tell him every day that they learned something from it. Oh, I don’t think he said people on the streets that was probably my term. heh.
Dr. Oz asks how Kandi has changed over the years. He says he thinks she has become a bit more sensitive. Kandi is shocked. Todd isn’t referring to the constant crying. He says at first she was all rough and tough and now she is calmer and more relaxed. She is a little softer. Todd has a full on beard by the way.
Kandi says that Todd is pretty much the same. She says for a second he had some attitude and they were bumping heads. Really? These two have no problem discussing their marriage on TV that is for sure. Anyway, they were bumping heads about him working in LA for several months right after the marriage.
Dr. Oz asks about Mama Joyce. They say she has gotten a lot better. Todd thinks that a baby would make things better. Dr. Oz says with all of their traveling, they have limited opportunities to try to have a baby. Kandi says they have a two week rule where they cannot be apart for longer than two weeks. One or the other has to find a way to get together within any two week period.
Kandi talks about being frustrated when Todd was in LA and when he came back he did not want sex. She did wonder if he was getting it somewhere else. Todd points out that somebody missed the episode where they discussed all the times that Kandi denied Todd. Really? Who goes on TV to talk about their sex life in such detail on TV?
Finally, they talk about the infertility specialists. Kandi says that she has had a lot of issues with fibroids and has had surgery to remove them more than once. And now it seems the surgeries have left her with some scar tissue. Dr. Oz asks Kandi how she is coping with it emotionally. And she does not cry! She says she is fine. She is more of a solutions person. She is trying to figure out how to solve the problem. She has had surgery to try to remove the scar tissue, so they are in the next phase of trying to get pregnant.
Dr. Oz asks why they are being so public about this. Kandi says she is an open book. What you see is what you get. Mainly because she doesn’t want someone to have something they can bring up and put her on blast. Kandi has on a long wig and it looks great.
Dr. Oz brings on a fertility expert. Todd wants a boy. Todd says that if they could have done it the regular way that would have been nice. The fertility doctor says that lots of folks get fibroid. Kandi says the first time she had fibroid surgery it was the outpatient kind. Apparently they did not get the entire fibroid and she blead for two months straight and passed out on an airplane. She was traveling alone and it was really scary. So she changed doctors and had a myomectomy and had to have a blood transfusion. That doctor told her she needed to have a baby within five years because the fibroids may return. This was before Todd. Within the past couple of years, Kandi had fibroid within the uterine cavity. So she had to have another procedure to remove those and make room in the womb for a baby. Now she has scar tissue from that procedure that needs to be cleared so that there is room for the embryo to implant on normal tissue.
As if we did not pass Way Too Much Informationville three stops again, Dr Oz has two REAL uteruses for them to play with. Even with the requisite purple gloves. Todd is not amused. Kandi says it looks like a chitlin’. It sort of does. Everyone cracks up. Then they show the fibroids in a uterus. It’s all kind of gross. I don’t think Kandi or Todd actually touched anything.
So apparently the plan for Kandi is to remove the existing scar tissue in her uterus and then try in vitro. Dr. Oz says that stress really interferes with getting pregnancy and they need to try to distress their lives. Dr. Oz ended by telling them to work out their differences. Kandi seemed offended and responded to let him know they are on the same page.
That whole mention of in vitro was so quick, if you blinked you would have missed it. I could have done without watching this.
Soooo….to summarize celebrities have fertility problems too! I guess it’s a good thing she is willing to be an open book but honestly some things are sacred!
My sister had scar tissue removed also so she can have a baby – I hope it works for Kandi too.
I hope it worked for your sis as well!
I mean if that segment didn’t look fake to me…..
Kandi and Todd have many options to have a kid, this two year “baby storyline” is old because they could either get a surrogate or adopt.
But hey they are EPs of Kandi’s Ski Trip so why not make up some stuff to stay out of the unemployment line!
Anyone else feel like Todd bringing up Kandi denying him will be his excuse for cheating?
With Joyce (she ain’t my mama) out of the way, I have liked Kandi so much more. It does seem kind of ironic that with all her sex toys and sex talks, she and Todd haven’t been getting any…or enough, or whatever.
Well, you know what they say. The ones who talk about it the most do it the least. I believe that people who talk about it the most are actually really insecure or really bad in bed. Just my opinion.
You can over do it with the sextoys. I believe Kandi is a freak and wears the man out. There is any old saying that says when the post is gone the hole stays strong Andy readying to go.
She’s probably needs to bring a smidgeon of class and act more demure and give him some “come hither” looks during their evenings together while dining together or folding towels, etc. The “forcing him” to have sex with her practically and talking about having a baby and having a baby and again, having a baby, just well may be the BIG TURN OFF for him. She sounds like a damn broken record. But, she trying to break Todd down. IF they have a cold together and they divorce, then Todd will probably have to pay money to Kandi for the child and to Kandi.
Hope he doesn’t give her “any” ever!!! Besides, they lived together before they were married and having sex (alledgely) was nothing new about it! She didn’t SAVE her honey pot for him for when they said their I DO’s” 😉
The thirst is real.
That hair is thirsty…
LOL!
Meant to say IF they have a child together …..
Sorry … I didn’t proofread the above before sending
And who cares? I mean I know her fans care but to have a whole show about it? She is one of millions of 39 year old women who have trouble conceiving. Is she sure she can not have a normal conception after the scar tissue removal? Or was this just a segment of his show? And does anyone think their spin off ski trip show is going to be worth watching? I can’t decide mainly because I’m not fond of her mother.
I mean that’s kind of the point – using a figurehead to highlight a story that their viewers can relate to and/or learn something from?
Oh stupid me! I kept reading Dr. Oz but from my eyes to my brain it was translated as Dr. Phil. Dr. Phil doesn’t do therapy for fertility does he? Makes sense now!
I probably will watch, but only if it looks like they’re going to show a lot of scenery. I’ve always wanted to go to Steamboat Springs, but if it’s another shit show of screaming and fighting the channel will turn quickly! Maybe they should have taken Mama Joyce to the local pot dispensary and loaded her up with weed and a bong. She could have eaten and slept her way through the vacation. The promo I saw showed more of the “did Todd and Carmen sleep together” drama, naturally led by Joyce. Jeez couldn’t they have done that in Atlanta?
This is a great reason for me not to watch Dr. Oz.
TT really took one for the team by watching it and making sure we don’t feel a need to live it ourselves!
I shake my head at the thought of a couple trying to conceive when they seem to have so many issues and haven’t been married too long. Add to that the scenario of being apart so much and holy crap. I realize she is at an age when the clock is ticking, but their story line sure makes it look like they may not last too long. Hopefully that is just for the show. If not, I don’t think she should be expecting her daughter to help out too much with a baby, either. I think that’s a no go!
Ah but now we know that her clock is just about beyond ticking…her 5 year clock is about to turn into a pumpkin.
Having a baby will make things better. Great. That rarely works, if ever. But at least they will have someone to blame when they split.
Yes, I can’t wrap my head around that one either. It just seems so improbable that a man who has been treated the way Todd has by Kandi’s family and employees would even WANT a child with her. Those are the ties that bind and it makes no sense unless he has the agenda of having the child, somehow getting custody, and then suing for an exorbitant amount of child support. That theory seems highly unlikely unless you’re a Todd’s-After-The-Money conspiracy theorist.
Sometimes I wonder if something like this, where a couple will go to great lengths to conceive, makes either of their existing children think “What?! I wasn’t enough?” It seems so forced, and like “why are they so desperate?” when neither of them is childless.
Sometimes I think people just will not accept the normal course of things nor want to face it when that particular ship has sailed long ago.
Please don’t reproduce and bring another child into the world to be fucked up by reality TV. Children never make a bad marriage good.
Thank you Tamara for watching this high colonic of a TV show.
They are too involved in TV. This is the standard storyline for a struggling sitcom. Ratings down? Get married. Ratings still down? Add a baby. It always fails. On TV and in real life.
Why not adopt?
Maybe they could adopt Kingsley. 2 problems solved.
And Kingsley could eat NeNe-3 problems solved.
Hmmmm and get food poisoning!
I like the kingsley adoption with the nene eating and snacking on mama Joyce, win/win. I like Kandi and I feel for her. She’d make a great mom and I’m rooting for her and Todd. Their marriage looks normal to me, meet each other, Rush into marriage and then get to know the person. It’s back asswords and seems to be the way people do it today. Todd deserves sainthood IMO.
Just realized my phone is stuck in the early 80’s, late 70’s, it capitalized Rush! I
Would you honestly let any reality show cast member adopt a child to be used as a pawn for ratings?
You don’t think there are women out there that would LOVE to give Kandi her baby just to get air time????
Oh Lord, that thought scares me. Calling Teen Mom.
Lol….Kingsley eating Nene….too funny!!
Im gonna go ahead and blame everything on her damn night bonnet!
Lol
Does he really want kids, she wants to have one with him or both are on a mission?
How do women do it? With fibroids, polycistic ovaries, cervical/ovarian etc, it really can suck to be a woman sometimes. It seems over 50% of my 20-30 year old female friends all have some issues in that region. 🙁
(No disrespect intended).
Yep. And when you hit menopause you get to start waiting to see if any of the working parts turn against you. No disrespect taken. Always nice to have a man understand 🙂
Omg I honestly thought the exact same thing – I [was/am] incredibly ignorant about fibroids and decided it was time to look it up after remembering Cynthia had the same thing.
(Google images not recommended)
The more you know – real housewives edition.
If you ask me I think Todd had a vasectomy and he’s not saying anything. And he probably really don’t want anymore kids.
I’m with you. This isn’t his first rodeo. His only child (he states) is eighteenth or nineteen by now and he never had another child after Her? Something to think about.
Come on yal read between the lines it’s not him pushing the issue on having a baby it’s Kandi.
Yes, from what I see on the show it’s more Kandi than Todd.
Remember she was acting like it was Todd’s problem that she wasn’t getting pregnant in a previous episode. That’s why Todd and Kandi went to the doctor to test Todd’s sperm! She seemed to be sure it was his problem not hers. It seems she was having a few problems herself as I remember back when.
They should have went on Dr Phil before Dr Oz. Dr Phil would have told them that no child should be born with a job.
Yep, let’s have a baby and the baby can have the job of fixing our marriage and our lives…….NOT!!!!!!
Forgot to thank you TT for watching this shit for us. I do not watch Dr Oz and am glad I didn’t choose today to start.
I wouldn’t wish fertility issues on my worst enemy. Good for them for being so open about it. Same with Lisa Hochstein. It’s so common. I hope they are able to have a baby. But it won’t save their marriage if that’s what they’re expecting.
Just wondering which beard since Todd doesn’t appear to be full on into Kandi coated popcorn, peanuts and a prize.
