I always love the president at the correspondence dinner. I think he walks the line between funny & making his point really well. I found him particularly funny this year.
Let’s see, Obama has continued to expand the NSA, continued Bush’s bailout of the Banks while imposing cuts on “entitlement programs” like Medicare and Social Security, his meddling in Syria led to ISIS not to mention murder millions of refugees there, blacks have faired worse under his administration and now he’s working assiduously to pass TTIP to the detriment of American workers.
But yeah, we are way better off under Obama than Mitt Romney. At least under Romney, the Democrats would have acted as an opposition.
Love Obama! Say what you want about his politics but how can you not love this guy. Very few people have the chops and charisma to pull this sort of thing off. Not to mention the comedic timing and being able to keep a straight face throughout it all. He was born to be the president.
“Say what you want about his politics.. BUT! He is very funny and has great comedic timing!”
Yeah… Cause that’s what we need to look for in a president. Know wonder this country is the way it is… My Lord…
I posted the whole speech on Facebook. Say what you will about the man, he is a fabulous speaker. Great comedic timing. Who knows what might have been with real supporters of America in the Congress instead of people bound to oppose whatever the Black man wanted to do. The bucket list was classic! Hope he does all he can do in the time he has left in office.
Hmm, not a fan and this doesn’t change my mind one bit about him-but to each his own. A man screaming behind the POTUS using some jacked up accent to interpret what he says didn’t make me laugh and was kind of beneath him.
But thanks for glimpse TT.
I believe Obamas race was held against him once he was elected. Not talking politics, but racism. Racism makes me sick.
Maybe I wrote it to simply.
Sorry I said anything.
If the whites had made as many color comments in a black setting, they would have been cut off the air. I know a lot of you will not like this comment but you know it’s true. Maybe Obama’s calling in life is to be a comic and NOT president of the United States. He certainly does the funny stuff better than he has running our country and dealing with the middle east or dealing with anything of an important nature. His comedy in the fashion in which it was done seems to knock down the dignity of the White House and the position of President of the United State of America. This is my opinion so don’t crucify me for it. Just think about it.
Funny thing about being a black man, born of a white mother, raised by white grandparents and your life experiences.
Guess a sense of decorum and national pride would be felt, if a young intern was going down on him in the oval office or he was reading a book upside down to a bunch of kindergartners during…wait let me stop. I think the more appropriate response is “Bruce Jenner, though”. Sip slowly.
You do realize that sitting presidents have attended the dinner since its inception, and in their speeches they have basically mocked themselves for decades?
@cawoman23 It’s funny how there is all this anger towards Obama for doing what all other presidents have done without any kind of blowback. Hmm. How is Obama different?
First time I ever laid eyes on Obama I thought he was extremely handsome and charismatic. And all during his administration, whenever people would get on his ass about his politics, I’d still say “Yeah, but how can you NOT like this guy?” And it’s true. He is witty as hell.
I’ve about given up on politics altogether, so I don’t really argue it one way or another. But I still don’t want to hear anyone speak ill of any president. Look how it ages them. And I know I could never, ever keep up with their daily calendar.
It was a breath of fresh air.

Loved it!
It was fun and a great idea to post it!!!
Ok, this is WEIRD. I JUST finished watching this. It made my day. John McCain with a broom on the lawn was priceless.
I missed it in TV, thank you for the clip! That was funny! Still do not like his politics, but that was funny.
This is great fun.
Pres. Obama was hilarious ! I L OVE my president.
Brilliant and hilarious.
I so love that man!
Can’t wait for his term to be over. His administration has been a nightmare for everyone except the wealthy.
LOL what
And you really think it would have been better under Mitt “47 Percent” Romney?!??? You’ve got to be kidding!!

Please Jar, let’s not make TT regret she posted this. It’s intent was to share in the humor and lightness of the post.

Great when they can poke fun and everyone get along.
Bwahahaha, Obama’s ghost speaker!
Thank you Tamara I really needed to laugh today.
I look forward to the this every year. Obama was great! Very funny…

Okay and “know wonder” why people like the Tea Party and Fox News..
Yes because those who oppose Obama are Tea Partiers and Fox News watchers.
The post, and the evening, weren’t about politics!
Rocks it as usual!
“Dick Cheney was the worst president in MY lifetime!” Amen, brother.
Then why has the Obama administration continued almost off the policies of the “Cheney” administration?
Not biting. Keeping it light.
Even Jeb Bush applauds Obama for expanding the NSA while pretending to oppose it.
Omg Jarlath! Do you not fucking get it? This thread is not about politics. You have a problem understanding that so go the fuck away!
The Prez is always great at these things. He has great timing and delivery. He was really good. Loved his bucket list !

So funny! Love our president! Off topic, covet Michelle’s arms!
No kidding! If I had her arms I would go back to wearing sleeveless 🙂
Spaghetti straps! Oh well, next life. 🙂
I love Key and Peele, Their “Obama College Years” sketch is worth a look.

Hilarious, I also wonder how much he could gave gotten done if he wasn’t black.
He rocks at the correspondent dinner each year.
did you just say “I almost wonder what he could have done if he wasn’t black?” WTF ?

He has the natural timing and dry wit as the late great Johnny Carson.

@IslandHousewife Well said!

Reminds me of Urkel
