Demetria on Blood Sweat and Heels It's Hell Time

I’m sorry I have been remiss on recapping Blood, Sweat & Heels. I really like this show and need to make it more of a priority, I just finished zipping through last week.  I find myself feeling much different about everyone this season than I did last season. I don’t know how Bravo manages to flip the script like this but they do it to me all the time.  I’m having lots of compassion for Daisy and her fight with cancer. My absolute favorite from last year Demetria seems to have a stick of some sort lodged up her butt this season that I hope is just due to wedding stress and writing and self-publishing another book.  For some reason I felt so bad for Geneva when she went through her arrest that I tweeted her support and y’all know I don’t tweet the reality show participants very often and scold you all when you tag me in a tweet with them. I even find Mica endearing this season. So I am kind of confused about my perspective.

Anyway I loved tonight’s episode on fashion week. Kenya Moore and Cynthia Bailey were on and interviewed by Daisy at the Michael Costello show. That was a fun cross over even if it was only a “who are you wearing?” sort of thing.  I’m majorly impressed that Geneva is doing a piece for Italian Vogue.  blood-sweat-and-heels-season-1-does-geneva-look-like-wesley-snipes

I do not understand Mica’s Pop Up Runway.  Also, can I just say these tiny little women with the gigantic purses look weird?  What is in that giant bag? I’m in the process of switching over from an envelope bag to a medium-sized bag and I am trying to remember all things I used to carry around.  I mean, wallet, keys, lipstick, chapstick, maybe a packet of tissues, a couple tampons, a condom or three I honestly don’t remember what goes in there.

I like to see Daisy and Demetria nicely to each other. I hope it lasts. I love Melyssa’s match maker date. Melyssa’s two perfectly aligned neck moles are distracting. Sadly, she is not into him because he is hot, but boring and not looking to settle down.

I am undecided on Chantelle. Is she a full-fledged cast member? I can’t make up my mind about her.  Her brother, the yogurt factory worker is adorbs.

It’s time for the scene about Geneva’s arrest.  My heart just breaks for her. OMG The story is worse than I imagined. She had an asshole cab driver who tried to put her out in the middle of the street. She called 911.  She also saw a traffic cop and tried to explain to him what was happening. She did not feel safe.  The traffic cop told the taxi driver that he can’t just dump someone out in the street he needs to take her to her destination.  So once she gets there the cab driver tried to over charge her she went inside the nail salon and called the police. He too called the police. The cops arrested her over $15 (should have been ten). And yes I get she should have just paid him but it was all very traumatic. The $5 would have kept her out of jail.  Geneva was eventually vindicated if I recall correctly.  I don’t know who the new Muslim chick is. But she is less than compassionate. Melyssa is like whatever, I’ve been arrested five times.

Mica’s “pop up runway” is all women in bikinis and swimsuits holding giant glo sticks over their heads. It makes no sense. Is she promoting a particular line?  I still don’t get it.

Arzo is apparently the Muslim girls name.  She’s the “white girl” shit stirrer. I think she is Afghani. The British bitch just called her an Afghan hound. This is same kumbayah bitch who was all “we don’t have race relation problems in England” earlier. She also calls her an Arz-hole. Daisy don’t get why calling her an Afghan hound is offensive.

Next Week: Geneva’s insistence that her arrest was racist become an issue with the girls. Whether it was or it wasn’t, I think we could show some compassion for Geneva, and it might well have been racist. NYC taxi drivers are notorious for not picking up black folks trying to flag them down. I hate when people make everything about race, but in this case, it is at the very least possible. If an elderly white grandma was in the same situation would they cart her off to jail for a $15 cab fare? Mica says she is giving up drinking.  Everyone finds out about Daisy’s cancer.

I think race and gender plays a role in everything that has to do with perception and prospective behavior towards someone! It won’t be the sole factor but it definitely has a role! Being a black woman gets a different response than a white mail I can certainly attest to that! I feel bad for Geneva because I think the situation was probably taken out of context! Arzo is an arzhole I’m sorry! She has no empathy for the situation and I hope she realizes she could very well be in that situation given her lifestyle! She herself has testified that she doesn’t live by societal norms! She wasn’t even there but knew for a fact it had nothing to do with race! This is the second time Melyssa’s behavior has disturbed me! The other time was at Geneva’s job party! I know she doesn’t care much for her so maybe that’s why her behavior was so cavalier! I’ve never been arrested but I can only imagine that it has to be a traumatic experience! Demetria is elitist but she would never admit it! I think that’s what the girls picked up on in season 1 that caused a wedge! She is harmless but she has a very ‘standoffish’! I like her though and I think she just needs to relax a bit! She is constantly on guard with these women! Mica is just a wild card! You just never know lol! Daisy I guess is playing the role of raven simone in this episode! Some people look like an afghan hound? Uh….no! Fix that!

I agree with you Janshell! You did nothing wrong, i think. It’s just your choice of punctuation can be exhausting for some. I bet you are a very enthusiastic person. Iam soo happy to meet one of us here, because Iam just like that too. Someone once told me that I write like I speak. LOL!
Iam now trying to tone it down just a bit, but it is soo difficult for me because it express my feelings well, sigh. I have always been a quick typing kind of girl who needs to get it all out @ once! Haha.

I have to be aware of too many exclamation marks! But my real problem is smiley (and frowny and winky) faces working their way into documents they have no business being in!!!

That’s what I get from Demetria and I don’t care for her. I don’t really care for Geneva either,(at least not last season). I was Team Mica, Daisy and Melyssa but of course that can change as the season has just started. I thought Chantelle’s brother was “adorbs” too. The Muslim girl seems like a bitch!
I was shocked when Daisy shared with Mica she has cancer. She’s so young. It’s just scary. I hope she’s able to beat it and is OK. So sad.
Glad to see Mica is not drinking because she was out of control when she was drunk. Still, there’s something about her that I like. I think she’s funny as heck and beautiful to boot.

Sometimes, it is difficult to take comments seriously when there is no apparent care taken to assure your message is clear. I understand that smart devices often take control, but can’t you fix things before you post? For example, what exactly is “white MAIL”? If there is “white”, is there also Black, Asian, Hispanic, Creole, or Italian mail? I cannot speak for TT, but I sometimes move on when things don’t make sense.

On topic, I think that Demetria is going to get the bitch edit this season, she will be… very tiresome, hehe. I feel so sorry for Daisy, i miss the ditzy Daisy. Hopefully she will conquer & get healthy.
Mica is so far my favorite because she is still all over the place, lol.

I love this show. I look forward to it way more than RHOA. I love the business aspect of it. Although, if Mica owned a modeling agency shouldn’t she have models already. Love her anyway. She’s trying.

Love that Chantelle said she “hasn’t made it yet” and isn’t faking her success. Still undecided about her.

Daisy is so inspiring. I’m not a Demetria fan. She seems to suck the fun out of the room. But I love her hair.

I haven’t watched any of this season’s episodes yet, but thinking back to last season – OMG, GirlMe, I’m right there with you in regards to Demetria’s hair – I absolutely LOVE it! I’ve never had a knack for styling my hair – not one little bit. I’ll let it grow down past my rear end (of course, just putting it up in a ponytail) and when I can positively stand it not one second longer – such as the time it fell in the toilet while I was cleaning the bathroom (ICK!) – I go get it all chopped off as short as I can, then start the process all over again. I’d love to be able to style and wear my hair like Demetria’s.

Thanks, TT, for the recaps – all of them. You help me keep up when I can’t watch (*and* when I can). And let’s face it – your recaps are always better than the actual shows themselves. In fact, thanks for everything you do. None of this can be easy. For one, it’s time consuming, I’m sure. For another, you have “Those Who Shall Not Be Named” getting their drawers all in a bunch – allegedly – and trying to come after you. Please know that I’ve appreciated you for so many years and will continue to appreciate you and everything you do for all of us.

I will be the odd man out and suggest that Geneva might have a problem with her attitude. As TT reported last fall, she also cracked Melyssa over the head with a bottle. Charged with felony assault and then a few days ago pled down to a misdemeanor. Anger problems, much? Allegedly.

I absolutely do not believe Geneva’s version of the incident. Really? She kept her cool and was respectful? Doubtful. I’m with most of the girls, including Demetria, who said, “She probably freaked out.” Or, “She should have just paid.” She’s so negative, people are always against her, she’s super confrontational, and has a snap temper. I’m guessing she went to jail because she flipped her shit on the cop.

I also feel it’s somewhat telling that, from what I saw, the women were incredulous about Geneva’s race and gender theory. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen, just not in this situation. It’s extremely bad luck to be going along as a polite, professional woman, then run into a horrible, crooked cab driver AND a cop who overreacts all in the same incident. I’m thinking Geneva is the common denominator here.

I liked her last season and I have NO clue why! I can’t stand her! Geneva’s whole personality and mannerisms and everything bother me, though, so I’m biased. But most of the girls were skeptical, too…

I had thought rewind this scene (at the makeup dinner w/Mica and Chantell) to be sure I heard it correctly, but did Geneva say that she was naturally “bulimic”(sp?)? I listened again to the full sentence and it’s context and I wonder if she meant to naturally “anemic”. Any thoughts? And if it wasn’t a mis-speak, can one be naturally bulimic??? Inquiring minds and all.

Yes she said that. She uses a lot of words wrong. Someone on Twitter called it “when trying to sound educated goes wrong”. I think she meant anemic.

Watching this show while reading Twitter is so funny. People were really pissed Geneva said she had “3 degrees and is not some girl from the hood”. They were like “oh so girls from the hood with no degrees deserved to be treated that way”. I can’t say it was racism. The really racist ones don’t pick you up. Living in NYC myself, I always have my eye on that meter so I would’ve asked him to let me out when that traffic cop was right there if that meter price was already crazy. Geneva always crying race. She cried race when Mica called her Nozema Jackson. But she really does look like him eyes and all;) She should save her race card for real occasions or she’s gonna run out and be left crying “high forehead”.

I didn’t hear where her cancer was but it’s hard not to feel sorry that someone that young has to go to war to defeat the hateful beast, cancer. Last year the show had scenes with Melissa being mentored by Dr.Michael Eric Dyson who appears regularly on MSNBC and teaches at Georgetown.

So,we can say calling people names is not ok. We can take comments made as racism, even though we weren’t there to hear both sides of conversation. Then, it’s somehow correct to call a castmate a Afghan Hound! So…would she have found it alright if in turn she was called a African Monkey? Using HER OWN GUIDELINES, it would be Okay! I may be in the minority, but I don’t feel bad for Geneva at all. She comes off to me like an over the top hood-bougie, self important poser to me. The kind of black person that has to wear their blackness on their sleeve. Yet she comes off insecure and combative. Now before anyone jumps down my throat – I’m saying this as a black person that loves my people – but everytime some unfortunate thing happens to you, it’s not necessarily bc you’re black. Sure, there’s a possibility it may have been a factor and it very well could have been, but she just seemed to automatically go there and is now seemingly going on a crusade about it.

Listen, I have lived in NYC for 10 years and everyone knows cab drivers can be assholes especially to minorities. I’ve gotten into arguments with cab drivers before and if they’re giving you a hard time or demanding you pay them in cash (which they’re not allowed to do now that they have the credit card machines), you simply ask to be let out. I read the original article about what happened to her and it doesn’t add up to me. The Manhattan Bridge is not that far from the BK Bridge – it’s like a few blocks difference. And for a good bit last year, there were a lot of BK bridge closings due to construction. So they use to the Manhattan bridge as an alternative. Not saying this is what happened to G, but just one theory. Either way, using one bridge over the other shouldn’t result in a massive fare difference. Maybe an extra $5 but so what, get over it. Not worth going to jail over. Especially if you’re this so called “boss chick”. So “boss up” then Miss Vogue Italia and pay a few extra bucks. Stop milking the shit. Just my opinion though!

But I do think it is an issue with NYC cab drivers. Some of them. I don’t understand why she didn’t give him $10 before she went inside. I’m not saying she did the right thing, I’m just saying if she were my friend, I’d have some compassion for the situation and support her.
