We begin with Bethenny arriving at The Essex House for a free room in exchange for promotion. She has her dog Cookie, and her new assistant Leslie in tow. She will be staying in the Presidential Suite, because she is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, allegedly. Bethenny explains that Jason is still living in her old apartment. That does seem kind of shitty for Jason to do as Bethenny designed every inch of the apartment. But it is what it is. So Bethenny is staying in hotels. I thought she was renting another apartment. Why isn’t she there? Oh she is renovating the other apartment.
Bethenny talks about her failed talk show and how unhappy she was as a talk show host. Essentially, she expected to be in control of the show, and she was not the ultimate decision maker and she couldn’t take that. I hope in her therapy they are discussing the commonalities between this experience and her marriage.
We check in with Kristen and her family which she says is getting better. From where I am sitting. It still looks pretty hectic.
Kristen, Luann, Heather and Carole get together for drinks. Heather awkwardly kisses Luann on the lips when she greets her. Awkward. Carole openly admits she is on a diet that involves nothing but vodka, cucumbers and butter. Good for her. Luann is having all the girls to her new house in the Hamptons. She is apparently downsizing. Luann and Sonja are still not on good terms, but she invited her anyway. Sonja as apparently been drinking too much and making a spectacle of herself in public. Which is way worse than drinking too much and making a spectacle of yourself on the Internet. Am I right?
It seems that Bethenny is having a cocktail party in the penthouse. Luann is the first to arrive. That itself is odd. I didn’t know that Jacques and Luann lived together for four years. Luann and Bethenny talk about Bethenny’s divorce. She says there is no friendship left between her and Jason. Luann says that Sonja is a mess. They both feel bad for Ramona. Maybe Bethenny and Luann are the only two having drinks.
Bethenny goes out with Fredric of Millions Dollar Listing to look at office space. Bethenny, Fredric and the other realtor talk about their fetishes, as one does. Except not one of the three of them knows what a fetish is. Bethenny is depressed because she is getting too old to have another baby. She is homeless. She dumping all of this out on Fred. It’s classic poor little rich girl.
Sonja and Ramona meet for drinks. They are not that close anymore. Ramona is falling apart. I can’t imagine a divorce after 25 years of marriage. Ramona can’t believe she is getting a divorce. Sonja is trying to share what she went through in her divorce. It does come off as a bit of an attempt to make her divorce seem worse than Sonja’s. These two are kind of on the outs.
Sonja still has the movie lawsuit. She has also sold one of her homes. She has a ton of interns still. She feels like the girls criticize her and she is on the outside. She sounds as delusional as ever. Then she does a talking head about how she is not delusional.
Carole is working on her next book. She is very behind her deadlines.
Dorinda is officially “Ramona’s friend” I don’t like Dorinda already. I don’t know why. I just don’t get a good feeling. I hope that changes. Ramona is very ramotional. Ramona tells Dorinda that Sonja is not supporting her through this difficult time. Ramona says that Mario begged her for another chance. She can’t even say the word, “affair.” Dorinda is very kind and supportive. Dorinda’s husband died three years ago. They have great conversation.
Sidenote: I swear to God there are more commercials than show tonight. I never have time to just sit here and watch commercials.
Hannah is Dorinda’s young adult daughter. Apparently they share a shoe fetish. Dorinda already has a new rich man. His name is John and he may be gay. Yet Dorinda calls him a machismo, mafia type. I think we must be looking at two different men.
Next week: Dorinda and Sonja stay at Ramona’s house in the Hamptons but she gives Dorinda the room that Sonja always stays in. Ramona apologizes to LuAnn for being insensitive to her divorce struggles. The ladies all converge on the Hamptons and the sparks begin already between Ramona and Bethenny who appears to be butting in to business that does not concern her. Bethenny tells Ramona she doesn’t want to hang out with her.
