Oh joy. It’s a double whammy. Maddie is on off doing Saturday Night Live with Sia. Oddly, Melissa nor Abby went with Maddie! Also they are going to Ohio for one final fight with Cathy before they go to LA again.
Kalani gets to be on top of the pyramid with Maddie in absentia.
JoJo and Mackenzie get solos. The group is a jazz/funk group inspired by The Spice Girls.
Mackenzie struggles A LOT in rehearsal. Abby rides her hard. Melissa basically tells Abby that Mackenzie is not dumb. Abby strongly implied she is.
Cathy and her sister-in-law are doing the choreography this week. Her girls look good in rehearsal. Cathy is trying to do a lyrical in Abby’s style. It could beat the Spice Girls crap… OMG! Cathy just trashed talked Nia as the weakest link in ALDC. She says she doesn’t have any Nias, she had all Kalanis.

Time for solos. Mackenzie’s dance was acro. The song we heard sucked. I hope the judges heard a better one. BTW, I watched that British Dance Mums show a few times and they have the actual real music. How is it that show can afford it and this one can’t? Mackenie’s dance was packed with acrobatics that have a high score potential. It didn’t really wow me, but this is a numbers game and she already has the chance for way more numbers than Jo Jo based on routine difficulty.
JoJo’s dance was good. JoJo’s pants were distracting. I just watched her pants. The song was British and cool.
Okay the ALDC group dance was fantastic. And as they were killing it I realized the reason they are doing this without Maddie is that this is not the type of dance she excels at. I hope they win with this because this is the best dance they have done in a while. Kendall was a bit of a weak link in that she was not always spaced properly from the other girls.
Candy Apples dance looked like a run of the mill ALDC lyrical. It was good but nothing we haven’t seen done a thousand times.
Mackenzie takes second overall in solos. Jo Jo with the Bow Bow takes first! YAY!
The group dance comes in second to the rotten apples. I think the apple cores got robbed a couple times this season, but this week, ALDC should have won first in group.
Abby is furious and makes fun of the girl on the other team with the giant ears. Abby has a point. Getting those pinned back is a wise investment.
Sorry, but Cathy had no business throwing that low blow at Nia. Doesn’t that child get enough grief from her own dance teacher without more from another teacher if that is what we call someone who always has help with the comps and not even with students that she trained. Enough already. I adore Nia and think she deserves some kindness from adults other than her mom. Godspeed Nia.
I felt sorry for Cathy’s kids. They finally won. She should have just let them be happy and celebrate. But, no, she had to drag them into the drama, and let Abby humiliate them.
Well, I guess it was written that way for a reason.
Cathy is a bitch. I think she is meaner than Abby.
I agree.
But still, if that were my kid I would have pinned her ears years ago. Not because of any other reason than you know she gets bullied about it every day.

I agree, but for Abby, an ugly ADULT who could benefit from some work herself, to say that as a retort on national TV, and the girl had nothing to do with the dumb fight: disgusting.
I agree. People that ugly shouldn’t be that mean.
Abby calls Mackenzie dumb. Cathy makes fun of Nia. Abby ridicules a young girl’s ears. Are these “women” adults or junior high girls.
Abby’s comment about the girl’s ears was awful. It’s like her comment about Chloe’s eye. What a nasty bitch. She should look in the mirror before she starts criticizing the appearance of others.
Oh, I wrote my comment before I read this. You said it much better than I did.
I think making fun of that child if front of her peers is horrific. If Abby wanted to give constructive criticism she should take the mom to the side and discuss it quietly. Little girls do not need suffer poor body image. They need to know they are beautiful in package they came in. My girls are biracial in a predominantly white school and we celebrate their differences and unique qualities and children sometimes are cruel because they look different from them. When this happens I teach them to be strong and proud and concentrate on being the best they can be on the inside and most people will like them for this goodness and those who don’t probably don’t like theirselves very much.
