That Sucks. But what also sucks is the choice of pictures people keep posting to share the news. I thought I’d put up one of her Marilyn pictures.
There is a lemon sized tumor on her voice box. Surgery is set for next week.
Come for the tea. Stay for the shade.

I’ve never watched Mob wives, but what sad news. Cancer is a horrible disease that doesn’t discriminate and can hit at any stage at any time…we are all so lucky to be alive really.
Kind of off topic, but TT did you read that teacher’s obituary that died of cancer that has been in the news? “I was born; I blinked; and it was over”
I read some of it on accident. I’m trying to focus on happy things today. So far I got obituary lady, Big Ang and some dead 22 year old bad girl on my twitter line.

It’s been that kind of a week for me too . I feel so badly for her. I hope that she heals and gets better. I wish her only the best.
That girl from Bad Girls Club… I saw her episode.. she left the first night, had a breakdown of all breakdowns! Cried, kicked, screamed, said Michael Jackson spoke to her from beyond the grave… clearly there was an issue there that needed to be addressed. They sent her to a hotel, then home the next morning. Horrible to hear she died.. under “mysterious circumstances”, no less.
Why do assholes have to preface saying nice about someone with a serious illness with, “I never liked that person…. but I’m going to make a fakeass comment anyway…” You are not require to like sick people but perhaps you could just not mention them at all…

Positive thoughts out to Big Ang. I hope everything goes well and she makes a full recovery. I’ve always liked her.
love u ang. all good thoughts going your way.
Yeah, me too. She has a fun, and congenial personality. I wish her well.
My reply was to Angel(?).
I don’t really care for Big Ang, but that lemon sized tumor didn’t happen overnight. She normally sounds like she has smoker’s throat…and since last season her speech seems labored. But..I certainly wish her good health. My brother in law died from throat cancer, after two years and chemo/radia/surgery. It was a horrible way to die.
“I don’t really care for Big Ang, but that tumor didn’t happen overnight.”
Way to show compassion!
Oh nooooooo!!!! I hope for a speedy recovery. I love Big Ang. Sad news 🙁
My childhood best friend has esophageal cancer. He used to be a solid muscular 240 lb. brick house. Last time I saw him he was frail & very thin because he can’t eat solid food anymore. He only gets his food & nutrients through I.V. and can only speak with the slightest whisper. It broke my heart to see such a strong man no longer and his body so ravaged.
Since he was a teen he’s been a casual smoker and he used smokeless tobacco products a lot (chewing tobacco & those gross spit tobacco dips). Sadly I wasn’t surprised when he told me the news. When we were teens he always called me a pussy for refusing to partake & for being disgusted by the chews & dips. We argued about his nasty spit cups all the time. I only wish I had greater influence on him.
I remember seeing Big Ang on Wendy Williams a couple of years ago and she mentioned that she was recovering from thyroid surgery. I wonder if there is any correlation to her cancer?
Positive thoughts & well wishes to Big Ang.
UA I so know how you feel. I currently have a co-worker that has throat cancer as a result of smoking. Saw him the other day after several months of treatment and radical surgery. WOW! The robust man I knew is now a shell of himself. The tv commercials about cigarette smoking and the health issues it may cause hits home but seeing this man up close and personal REALLY hits home. I wish Big Ang and anyone suffering from this horrible thing we call cancer the best in the fight.
My apologies for getting your name wrong,
Hmmm that is rough!!! Do you have any pics before her enhancements? I don’t watch this show but is she a smoker or anything? Throat cancer doesn’t always stem from smoking though!
Wth, so if she’s a smoker it matters?
When I began smoking cigarettes they were 25 cents a pack and no one said cancer sticks.
I partied hearty for many years, overly imbibed in legal and illegal substances and my biggest battle has been cigarettes. I think Ive won but it also might be a little late. My last tests need redoing.
I wish Ang the best and I will say a prayer for us both.
Thank you, Calipatti. I am really TRYING not to be a bitch today. But really…

Did you just tell me what I need to do? Because I don’t take to that very well. You need to have a few seats.

Considering a massively disproportionate amount of throat cancer is due to smoking, how would that not matter?
I’m sorry for your struggle but I don’t see the point in taking a relevant question personally.
I grew up with DARE programs and post tobacco regulation and still smoked for 4 years, it doesn’t necessarily imply fault with the person – Big Tabacco has relentlessly found ways to market their death, thankfully most of us live in highly regulated countries; Phillip Morris has – very recently – bankrupt several developing countries in litigation for trying to regulate and educate their populations on the dangers of smoking.
I remember those horrible times trying to quit and lamenting that most anything fun and instantly gratifying kills us in one way or another.
Anyways, I couldn’t imagine going through that and have sympathy for anyone that does.
My dad had esophageal cancer and it was quite an ordeal. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. Poor Ang, I hope she has lots of support. My dad was 204 lbs when he began his first journey with cancer and he was down to 120 lbs. I remember being really frightened for him. He would just lie on the couch shivering. He couldn’t even swallow water, his throat was blooding and sore from the radiation. But, he came out the other side against very heavy odds. FTR – he was not a smoker, I don’t think it matters why someone gets cancer. My brother passed away, I had a stroke and got depressed, my father got cancer again and my mother died and now I suffer from severe depression. Should we blame that on my family members that were ill and died? It doesn’t matter. What does matter is that when we know someone is suffering we support them. Big Ang needs support from her family, friends and fans, not you should have known better. Good luck to her.
So why would it make a difference for you to know if she smoked or not?
Why am I once again regretting doing a bad news post.
Big Ang, a person who has always seemed lovely has cancer. It’s sad.
It’s not like her husband worked for a Big Pharm company that sold worthless cancer drugs to others, was a big part of that, and she married him KNOWING that and she herself got cancer. That would be Karma. That to me is an appropriate time to be making snarky remarks during “lentil season” about someone having cancer. Living off your whistle blowing husband whose company sold snake oil to cancer patients. Or maybe you just didn’t like her before she had cancer, so you are not obligated to like her now.
But you don’t need to do a full on investigation of her lifestyle to determine if she is worthy of your sympathy. How about, if you don’t know who she is, you just don’t say anything at all?
Unless you have a well founded reason to wish her ill will (and I’d say living off the money off the untold numbers of people your husband was responsible for with holding proper meds from would be a good reason) then you just ignore the post and move on.
Here is the link on who I am referring to. http://s17948.p858.sites.pressdns.com/2014/07/15/amber-marcheses-husband-has-a-shady-past/

What the hell is asking if she was a smoker a crime??? How is that a full on investigation? Because I didn’t express my concern doesn’t mean I don’t care for her well being nor am I obligated to post it for the world to see even in this ‘lentil’ season!! Last I checked as a Christian I don’t have to let the world know who I’m praying for just to make others feel better! I don’t know about her or her husband I have no idea who you are talking about!! You and that other person need to calm the hell down!! All over a question!?? No one deserves cancer! I’m sorry where did I say she deserves it? Must be a frigging full moon!
You might want to go gaze at the sky.
Also, if you go to bed now, you can be up in six hours to catch the lunar eclipse.
Meanwhile, if you ever saw an episode of Mob Wives or knew who Big Ang is, you would know she’s a smoker.
Also if you had any home training, you would just say something nice or nothing at all.

As for the commenter, what does being a Christian have to do with your comments, and TT’s responses? There are a lot of people playing the religion card lately. It’s really frustrating.
Thanks for this comment. When ever someone gets throat, lung or mouth cancer, the first thing many people say is “well they shouldn’t have smoked”. My cousin dies of esophageal cancer and he never smoked. My mom died of lung cancer and she never smoked. You may want to live in the pretty world of denial and blame bad things on the people who get them, but anyone can get any type of cancer. No one is safe. Instead try having compassion.
Janshell: IMO you are overreacting to a perceived (not real) slight. Take a deep breath and step – away -from – the exclamation point. 🙂
I love big Ang. I think she’s a beautiful, kind woman. I must admit, every time I watch mob wives and see her chain smoking and hear how her voice is so hoarse, I’ve dreaded that one day I would be hearing some news like this about her. I’m so sorry that it has now happened. Praying that with treatment they are able to get rid of it. Very very sad news.
I don’t get why doctors did not catch this sooner.. And I agree. It is very sad.

Big Ang is one of the only reality stars who keeps it real. She’s always been 100% Big Ang and I love that! I was really sad to hear this today. She’s a good person and yes, I know about her criminal past. I mention that in case someone tries to throw that back at me. I need to quit smoking. Now.
Hey Tulsa, in my experience the vape pen works a lot better than the patch. With the patch, you can’t do anything more when you have PMS or you are highly stressed and need a smoke. With the nicotine vape thingy, you can hit it more when you need it and not hit it as much when you don’t. And backing off the nicotine levels is not so hard because you suck in the nicotine when you have the craving. It’s just the frist few days when you look for the ashtray and the smokes. Like five days BUT you have all the effects of smoking from the vape thingy.
AND you will probably hate the vape thingy for a week or two. But then you will be addicted to the vape thingy and again, you can lower the nicotine levels pretty fast.

TT- I haven’t tried the e-cigs only because I have loudly proclaimed the group of women who use them at my workplace “the plastic penis suckers”. I can’t even blame menopause for that; I have a big mouth and I’m obnoxious sometimes. On some level I’ll admit I am jealous it works for them without even trying it myself and ridicule makes it easier for me to continue smoking cigarettes. Hypocrisy be damned because the news about Big Ang has really effected me. I am not lying when I say I will be buying an e-cig today. I’ve tried the patch and gum but I’ve never actually made a firm commitment to stop. I started smoking at age 16, almost 30 years ago. It’s time. Thanks for the encouragement. I’m not a religious person but in my own agnostic way I’m “praying” for Big Ang. I like her and have just sensed goodness in her unlike so many of her reality tv cohorts.
Best of luck to you Tulsa. It’s a big battle. Be fierce.

TT, I’m glad to hear about your experience with e cigs. My doctor told me to use them to quite. He said it’s not nicotine that causes the damage but the smoke being inhaled ( along with what other ingredients are in cigs). I started the switch over last week but I had to send my battery back and I’m waiting on a new one. Good to know that it works for you. Gives me hope!
You need at least two batteries. One should always be freshly charged 🙂

@TT and Tulsa,
I’ve been using e-cigs for nearly two years. I do not believe that if the patch or gum does not work, that it is because you didn’t try hard enough – it’s because there is no smoking involved. A smoker I knew years ago said there were two types of smokers; those that like to smoke (like me), and those that don’t but keep doing it because of nicotine addiction. Folks in the latter category probably do well using the patch and/or gum, but neither would work for me (or those drugs I see advertised on TV) because I loved smoking. So, two years ago I tried a couple of disposable blue e-cigs, and I never looked back. I don’t love them like I loved cigarettes, but they’ll do. An added bonus is not paying huge amounts of money every month for cigarettes, knowing a large chunk of it went to the state, to make up for tax increases they didn’t want to levy on everyone else … sin tax they call it … f__k__g hypocrites.
That makes sense @Beth. I do love to smoke.
TT- I just purchased my e-cig!! I have three cigarettes left in this pack and then I’m going for it! I promise to avoid posting if I turn into a more grouchier bitch than usual!!
Tulsa, between menopausal crap and attempts to give up the cigs and PMS being a colossal bitch here is pretty much all I have left. I do admit I’ve been lying low this past couple of days. When the moon wanes bit more, I should be back to regular bitch levels soon. I hope. I can’t stand to be around me in the PMS mode either.

I find her so lovable on that show, I hope very much that she makes a full recovery.
I love Big Ang, and I hate that she’s going through this! She’s got a lot on her plate right now, new grand baby, son that just out of prison and living back at home, etc. Prayers for her and her family! I recently switched from cigarettes to a e-cig, the Vuse.. I’ve really come to like it, and I don’t stink! I indulge in maybe 1-2 cigarettes a day now, down from 15-20. It’s a lot cheaper too! When I get my taxes back, I’m investing in a ELeaf vape pen.
That’s what I got but had a problem with the adapter. Can’t wait to try it!
The patch did not work for me and I don’t like to chew gum.
I bought the large box of GENERIC Lozengers, 4 mg.
Also the recharge ECiggs, I liked Blu. I also went back and reused the smoke part several times. Their ciggs are quite small and easy to misplace. I used those for two weeks.
Lozengers worked very fast. Often I’ld use only half at a time. I learned to pop one the moment I wanted to smoke.
I stayed home for about 10 days. I stocked up because if i went out there I knew I would be tempted to buy just one pack.
I focused on the money I saved each day I did not smoke.
*** important for me ***
7 – 10 days before my quit date, I bought ciggs I did not like at all. For me it was cheap weak menthols. I went from 1 1/2 packs a day, down to 10 ciggs a day(at least 2 days) before my quit date. That taught me control.
Good luck everyone.
Jen, maybe you heart is good it didn’t come across that way. Just wish a person well.
TT, I agree about the Ecigg. It’s been months and I still use it every so often. I also agree that it takes over a week to get use to using the Ecigg or vapey thingy. Ha ha
Now I like Eciggs.
@TT I have been using the “vape thingy” since 2011. I love them. I started with the Blu and graduated to Ego ecigs. They work great for me. Sorry to hear about Big Ang though, I hope she pulls through this.
Big Ang is the ONLY mobwive I love… geeshhh… what terrible news.. I hope she overcomes this and stays away from all of the mobwives since they are constant drama .. May she have the quickest recovery “ever”…
Get well soon Ang!
Love and prayers for Big Ang she’s all heart.
That’s a great description of her… “all heart”.
My next door neighbor and very good friend just died April 2 of cancer. He was in very good health before he got it. He worked out he was into healthy living and lifestyle. He was only 36. It wouldn’t have mattered to is if he smoked or not he was our friend. Which he did not. My mother also has cancer and just went thru stem cell treatment and is going into remission. She is elderly and has smoked for years. Either way they both are good people and when they became sick was them getting better. Shaming them for the cause was never thought of. I wish Big Ang and her family good luck in the fight against this terrible disease. Many prayers to her.
I have a healthy respect for cancer. It’s a formidable foe. Have to respect your enemy if your going to go toe to toe. All the best to Big Ang.
And to those who just can’t help themselves from blaming this woman for somehow being responsible for her disease before you wish her well…shame on you.
Tobacco cessation has been an issue close to my heart for a number of years, for a number of reasons. For one, I am a former pack a day smoker and I’ve also witnessed first hand tobacco’s/nicotine’s impact on people very close to me.
For those who want some assistance or know of someone who is considering cessation, I would recommend a Google search for tobacco quit lines. As I understand it, every state or most states at least offer a no cost tobacco quit line that offers assistance with quitting as the process is more than just physical….more than just laying the pack/tin down. Some people smoke with coffee, others on the phone, some when stressed and others when happy.
Some states, at least when I was more involved with cessation, also offered face to face type sessions . In addition, some programs offer, at no cost, different tobacco cessation pharmaceuticals because the items can get pricey.
For those wanting to quit, be encouraged is what I’d say. Everyone’s quit process is different and for some like me you may make several attempts before quitting for good.
i don’t watch Mob Wives anymore….but I’m still hoping all the best for Big Ang and her family,
I’m so sorry to hear this news, well thank God Ang is a strong woman and has a wonderful family and a heck of alot of friends/fans . My prayers are with Ang and her family now , forever and always.
Sorry to hear this, will be praying for a full recovery for you big ang!
Love me some Big Ang. That woman can cook! Sending good vibes her way for a full recovery!
Sending positive energy out to big Ang, best of luck & a speedy recovery, I absolutely love u & mob wives my prayers are with you and your family!!!!!!
Yes, I know this is an old, inactive story right now. Still want to say that I love this lady, dear big Ang. She is lots of fun and feels like a real giver to me. I send her love, best wishes and comfort. Since I haven’t heard any thing recently about how she is, I hope that she is already much, much better.
I love comments on old posts! It’s great for the site! xoxo
