I already know this is going to be a weird train wreck that is all about Nick Gordon and not about Bobbi Kristina at all. Even worse his lawyers are not going to let him talk about what happened the day Bobbi Kristina Brown drowned. If he is so fucked up, how does he censor himself? Did he perhaps incriminate himself and the lawyer made them edit? Even so could that tape be subpoenaed?
Okay, my first problem with this show is that Dr. Phil is using at The Daily Mail reporter from the UK to provide the background facts. The Daily Mail has printed several completely false stories about this situation. Could they at least use sources from the country where the incident occurred? Later they use a local Atlanta news station (11 Alive) but they make it appear that station is again relying on The Daily Mail.
I suspect the reason that Dr. Phil came to Atlanta is because Nick may not be allowed to leave the state. That would mean he is in rehab in the Atlanta area. Whoever brought Nick to the hotel was kind enough to get him drunk and filmed him being fucked up on their cell phone. Apparently, Nick’s mother lives in Orlando. She has flown in to surprise him. Nick has told his mother that he tried to revive Whitney Houston when he died. I don’t think he was in the hotel room when Whitney died. Krissi wasn’t so why would he have been? The mother says that he heard the assistant scream from his room and he ran into the hotel room and tried to save her. The mother claims that Nick called her after he tried and failed to revive her with CPR. I do not believe any of this.
The mother says that Nick moved in shortly after his 18th birthday. She says Krissi was 12 when they met. She says Nick moved in may of 2008. At that time she says Nick was 18. Krissi would have been 15. They play a bit of The Houstons where they explain they met in high school and Nick’s mother kicked him out and because they were good friends, Whitney let him stay with them. MMM HMM.
This idiot Daily Mail reporter is an annoying intrusion in the story.
Dr. Phil asks the mother what Nick told her about the day Krissi drowned. She says that, “Krissi, Nick and Max went out the Friday night before to a party… or a club… the were drinking. The got home very early in the morning the next day. Krissi and Nick had an argument. Nick walked away from the argument. Went to um, another bedroom to fall asleep…and Krissi went up to her room to draw a bubble bath. ” The cable guy showed up needed to get into the master bedroom so Max let him in and took him up there. Max found her in the tub but he didn’t know how to do CPR so he went to get Nick. Nick did CPR for 15 minutes. The police arrived and no one helped him. No one helped him until the EMTs arrived.
Okay. There are a lot of problems with this story. Like Krissi having no heart beat or breathing for over 15 minutes. Because the EMTs reported they got her heart beating and started her breathing when they arrived. Also Max tells a different version. In his version he and Nick are up talking in the living room when someone comes to the door and Max goes to let them in. At that point Nick wandered off somewhere which is why Max was the one showing the cable guy around. Way too many versions of this incident. This does not bode well for Max or Nick. Also in the police report, Max’s girlfriend was also present yet she was not mentioned in the mother’s version.
The mother says that Nick blames himself for both Whitney’s death and Krissi’s situation. His mother says that Nick has tried to commit suicide by taking pills. The mother seems educated and normal. I feel sorry for her. The mother says that Nick just went to rehab with Whitney and Krissi to be supportive and be with them.
Nick is supposedly in the building wasted. He is screaming that he wants to die. Dr. Phil says to his mother that they have to be a united front and not take no for an answer. Dr. Phil has people from a rehab there to take him out. Doctor Phil goes to his room to get him. Dr Phil goes to get him and he is fucked up. He says he only had two shots. When Nick gets to the room and sees his mother, the first thing he does is apologize to her “for everything.” Then he sits down and says let’s do this before talking to his mother some more. He tells her he would never hurt anybody. He loves people! He loves babies! Everything. Then he turns to Dr. Phil again and says alright so here we go. Dr. Phil says something and Nick starts confessing that he has been drinking a lot and taking Xanax. Nick says that his heart hurts and he has panic attacks. Nick says if anything happens to Krissi he will die. Nick had a panic attack… or something. This is all very odd. I’m not sure whether he is faking all this exactly or is just really, really drunk. I don’t see any actual tears. In fact, Dr. Phil’s eyes are redder than Nick’s eyes.
Nick claims he is taking a lot of Xanax. If he is on Xanax and alcohol he is not having real panic attacks. That I do know. Either one of those things would stop a panic attack. He just seemed to want to run from the room. Nick says his kidneys hurt from drinking. Nick says he is not sleeping because he misses Whitney and Krissi. Nick comes back to the room hyped up. Not on Xanax and alcohol. He’s not nearly sedated enough to not be on some sort of upper.
One weird thing is the mom has Krissi’s engagement ring in a safe in Orlando.
It’s time for the Dr. Phil attempt to bond with Nick. He explains that his mother wants him to get some help. So rehab it is!
I am surprised that Dr. Phil gave the name of the treatment center, Willingway.
At some point the Houston family reached out to the show and knew about the Whitney CPR story. They say that Nick did not perform CPR on Whitney. Dr. Phil hopes to do an interview with Nick after rehab to find out what happened with Krissi. I think Dr. Phil will be on the 5 pm news in a bit and I’ll update in comments. I have some errands to run first.
So what did you make of Nick? Was he just really wasted? Was he faking it? Did you find the lack of tears odd? What about the interactions with the mother? Anything weird there?
