I think that the first season housewives write the best blogs. I remember how great Yolanda’s used to be on her first season, and now we have Eileen and Lisa Rinna. Let’s love them now because you know they never stay this perfect. I remember loving Brandi and Yolanda and Joyce their first seasons and then they either turn in to totally different people or leave us forever.
This week Eileen doesn’t make her blog all about Brandi and Kim and actually acknowledges the lighthearted and heartwarming things that happened. It’s easy to forget that there were some sweet moments this week.
She starts her blog with the Burbank Film Festival scenes.
The Funny Stuff: The Burbank Film Festival! It is really such a great thing. It gives smaller, independent films a chance to be seen and to be celebrated. I was so happy to do a favor for my friend, Craig Campobasso, who wrote and directed the short film, “Stranger at the Pentagon.” I would do it again in a heartbeat. But, jeez, talk about no good deed going unpunished! Thanks, Kyle, Lisa R. and Lisa V. I can take little snarky comments, just DON’T MAKE ME GIVE BACK MY EMMY! And by the way, Craig’s film won first place in the short science fiction category! (I won cheesiest performance–just kidding, they didn’t have that category.)

The Deep Stuff: Lisa V. and Pandora discussing Max wanting to find out his heritage was so moving. When Pandora said, “He’s ours,” I almost cried. Of course Max must do whatever he needs to satisfy his curiosity. He has every right to learn about his roots. Lisa V. clearly supports her son, and yet it must be so frightening to think of your family dynamic possibly changing somehow. I love Max! He has such sweetness about him. It was endearing how nervous he was to share his ancestral news with his mum.
The Troubling Stuff: Kim and Kyle’s relationship continues to deteriorate. I felt like it was worth a shot, taking them out to lunch and maybe helping them mend their relationship. I lost my sister such a short while ago, and now that she’s gone, whatever differences we had have disappeared. All that is left is the love you feel and the sadness that you get realizing that you don’t have any more time. Life is so short. I thought maybe I could give them perspective. Clearly, it’s up to them to fix their relationship. I realize now this job is way too big for me. I was honestly just trying to help. Watching them go at it again made me feel so frustrated and at a loss. Where’s Oprah when you need her?
The Disturbing Stuff: Brandi bringing up Yolanda’s daughter as a means of deflection. Just when I thought she couldn’t go any lower, she does just that. Yolanda has done nothing but try to be there for Brandi. When Yolanda brings up Brandi possibly having alcohol issues, Brandi doesn’t even hesitate to throw Yolanda’s child under the bus. Is there any line she won’t cross? And just for the record, there have never been any rumors about alcoholism in regard to Yolanda’s daughter. I live in Malibu. One of my kids went to school with the Hadid girls. Never even a whisper. Then Lisa R. and Brandi have lunch. Once again the conversation starts out being about Brandi’s possible issues. Brandi again deflects by mentioning that Kim DOES have a problem, and she should have an intervention. Lisa R. says, in regard to Kim, “Something is going to happen… something already has happened!” and Brandi says “More than you even know.”…What exactly does that mean? Will Kim be joining all the others who have been thrown under the Brandi Bus? Or has she already?
I love Eileen. She is beautiful, gracious, and really funny. I hope she stays on for at least another season. I live one town away from Burbank. Seriously need to check out the festival next year!
It’s 9 degrees- not including windchill here in the NY Area and I’m locked in the house with an ornery husband. Wanna trade places?
Lived in the midwest for 10 years, so I feel your pain, but NONONONO! Will stay in Los Angeles. 🙂
I feel like Eileen is doing us fans a favor bc she doesn’t need the money – unlike some others on the show! Thank goodness bc she and Lisa R are awesome.
Brandi and her empty threats- cute! I am in no way trying to be an ignorant ass( bc I am a smart one! LoL) but how does Brandi think what she is doing is right? Any of it? Kim, in general? Is it an act? Is she still that bitter over Eddie? ( p.s. as I have stated before I know for a FACT he isn’t all that ) She obviously has some fan out there somewhere…. crickets!
I think those are the ones that make the best Housewives – the ones who don’t need a paycheck from the show and are therefore clearly doing it for fun, friendship, or as a lark and whose identities are not tied to being a Housewife (cough cough Atlanta).
Wow great blog!
No purple letters needed here haha!
I forgot, I’m very disappointed that we didn’t get to see Eileen’s unitard!
I know Yolanda is sick, and I feel badly for that. But I’m so curious about what she has to say about this episode, I’m delusionally hopeful she posts a blog.
Ditto!
Although I love TTs purple comments, nice to see purple-free! Eileen…love her…continues to remain a class act above tHe fray. She opened her heart to the Richards sisters in such an elegant way then realized you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make them drink. I will be surprised if she returns to this nonsense next season.
I know – Eileen’s like “what the heck did I get myself into”. Lisa R loves the drama and she means well but she better watch her back with Kim & BRANDI! Brandi is such a “train wreck” but that’s what Bravo loves and she knows it. Only problem is that she’s throwing everyone under the bus, I don’t know who would want to film with her – probably why she’s saying she might leave – don’t let the door hit you in the ass Brandi!!!!
I know it sounds ridiculous but I had a few extra minutes and I actually signed a petition online to get rid of Brandi. I like some drama here and there (loved Scary Island) but if I want to listen to this drama I can go to my AA meeting-frankly, I hear less BS there then listening to Brandi and Kim.
I get the feeling that Brandi sees herself as THE star that keeps RHOBH afloat. Like Nene thinks she is THE star of RHOA. They think that they are the reason we watch those shows. Maybe Bravo has given them the big head, an no matter how much negative press either one gets, they don’t care cause they are getting “paid” hunni (as Nene would say) I personally think they are both garbage people, but that is strictly my opinion. If they had 1/10 the class that Eileen has, they could give themselves an emmy. We don’t have to worry about that happening.
I think you’re spot on. Brandi views herself as the only woman with a compelling story line-It doesn’t matter how many people she hurts. She lives for publicity.
Fwiw, I don’t believe for a sec that she or Kim writes their own blogs. I can’t imagine Kim has read much beyond The Little Golden Books so I don’t see her putting her thoughts down on paper in a coherent manner.
I love Eileen because she is so level headed, confident and sees straight through the bullshit. She also doesnt stress the small stuff like the ribbing about the film and addresses it like a grown up. This means that BG is gonna hate her. Also, I think BG may see Lisa or Eileen as her replacement which may be another cause of friction.
I am also so glad Eileen and Lisa R are on this season. I enjoy them and as bad as this Kim centered drama is, again, I would have stopped watching without them. The only other thing going on has been the Max story line. As interesting as it is, having lived it from the opposite side, it is not enough subtance for this many players, and shouldn’t be for everyone’s consumption. I just hope Brandi doesn’t get involved in that with negative comments like she did to Yolanda about her child.
Mohammed Hadid made Nightline last night. Neighbors complaining about the disruptions and consequences of his continued building of larger megga mansions. Neighborhood impact is considerable and unsafe.
I love Eileen. I never watched soaps so I didn’t know who she was before RHOBH, but what a great addition. I hope she stays and I hope Brandi leaves or is demoted and takes Kim with her. Can’t Bravo cast a villain that doesn’t look like they crawled out of a gutter and one who knows how to act in public places and fancy parties?
You just described Lisa Vanderpump.

You consider Lisa Vanderpump a villain? I agree she is bitchy like the rest of them, but I only see Brandi as villainous at times.
You have to know more about Lisa than what is on the show to know her villainous nature…

Oh yeah her legal issues. She clearly is cutthroat and ruthless when it comes to business. This season she has been pretty lacklustre/low profile. Maybe because of last season or/and her recent legal issues.
I guess you’re right, but Lisa stirs the pot in a less obvious way. People act like viewers would be bored without someone like Brandi, but I personally hate the Jerry Springer like drama that she creates.
Really? I never thought that. I don’t think she’s an angel -she definitely has a problem letting certain things go and can be mischievous but I never viewed her as a villain.
I don’t see you commenting as much. I hope you’re feeling ok.
What a great blog. Especially the final line. I wonder if she is talking about what we were TT? Things that make you go hmmmm.
I love Eileen and she’s so right about Max, he is such a sweet human being, he alludes gentleness.
giggles

I wasn’t too familiar with Eileen before this show, but I agree that she’s awesome. She and Lisa R. really elevate the show, which was sorely needed.
I love Ashley! I mean Eileen!
NOT Kristen though… but maybe Susan…. or the nun character or…or… let’s just say they have her play a million people in Salem. 🙂
