Dance Moms, Maddie Ziegler Lands Another Huge Gig!

There is no rest for the weary, and that applies even when you are twelve years old if you are Maddie Ziegler.  Fresh off her starring role on stage at THE GRAMMYS,  Maddie has been plucked by Elle magazine to be a Fashion Week correspondent!  This isn’t even Elle Girl.  It’s Elle!

Maddie will be side by side with  the  editorial staff  attending all the biggest show and  posting exclusive, behind-the-scenes photo diaries of her whirlwind trip through fittings, front rows, and after-parties online for the magazine.

Maddie has already appeared in Elle magazine’s December print edition where she gave a few fashion tips and  model for some amazing photographs. Normally, I don’t care much for children being held up as fashion role models, but Maddie seems like such and old soul and mature for her age.

She fit right in at the Grammys posting with Sian in matching Armani suits and ridiculously oversized wigs. Sia has decided that she wants to try to stay out of the eye of the paparazzi as much as possible and is hiding behind giant wigs and other props at the moment.  Maddie just took it all in stride as if she has been doing it all her life.  And basically, she has.

Maddie shared her excitement on Twitter, “I’m so excited to be attending my first NYFW and who better to experience it with than ELLE.com. I’m looking forward to getting tons of inspiration for this next year. ELLE.com is an amazing partner to have during this incredible experience as they truly are one-of-a-kind and groundbreaking.”

How do you think the other Dance Moms feel about this?

My sentiments exactly. But someone correct me if I’m wrong, Abby manages the dancers.

Yes, she manages those currently on the show.

Since season 1, Maddie hasn’t been the prettiest (Paige was) nor has she been the best dancer (Chloe — her winning the Joffrey scholarship proves it). But Maddie has always been the most disciplined and she has always had “star quality” — at least IMO. That isn’t taking anything away from the others as far as looks & talent — they are all lovely, talented young girls. I just really always thought Maddie had a little something “extra.”
    I’m very happy for her.

Maddie got a Joffrey scholarship for modern dance. That Joffrey program is not associated with the “real”Joffrey ballet based in Chicago.
Paige and Brooke are both very pretty girls, but all the girls are pretty. I think Kendall is lovely.
I notice Christi has Chloe on the meet and greet tours. It costs a pretty penny to see her. ALDC/Lifetime made all those girls famous.

I was watching this weeks episode thinking, “If the best Abby can do is Aubrey O’Day, then these Dance Moms need to find real Managers and Agents for their children”.

I’m pretty sure Holly found her absent Abby? Abby would NEVER do anything that grabbed some attention for Nia.

Honestly I don’t think Abby would have even been able to get Aubrey — her current list of ‘celebrity appearances’ include a former Rockette that she butted heads with, and some drag queens.

Holly should seek out Diddy , so she can make the right connections for Nia

Good for Maddie…now run, run far away from ALM. She’s a loon who will do more harm than good for her career. She’s a dance studio owner and choreographer, not a manager. I’d love to see all the talented girls from that show find their own success and Abby go back to her studio and dance competitions. Everyone has a niche, and that’s Abby’s — not managing the careers of young talent.

I like Madrid, and I wish her all the best. I think she is will not be performing much with ALDC. Enter Jo Jo with the Bow Bow to keep the group in the junior division. Kilani will be the star performer and soloist, Kendall will be the backup. As long as Abby gets the 10% from Maddie, Abby shouldn’t complain. I hope Nia stays on the show.

Abby has said over and over that she is the manager and the moms need to go through her first. Meaning she will get her cut. It really depends on who all signed contracts making Abby their manager and she will get whatever percentage is stated in that contract for every gig. I hope tholse moms were not so starry eyed that they signed the kids life away. If this is factual then Abby is making some good coin on Maddie.

The Dance mom I wonder about is Melissa. From my understanding Sia ‘s people reached out to Maddie. Abby probably did nothing to earn a managers fee from this but I’m sure took a cut. Maddie has been on SNL, Ellen, Grammys, Elle magazine, and DWTS because of Sia not Abby.

At this point, Melissa has got to think how much better Maddie would do if she had a REAL agent/manager. Cuz crazypants Abby Is DList and Sia is a AList.

I’m really happy for her as she seems like a very humble level headed little girl. Just don’t like that Abby comes with the package. She will take a lot of the credit for all if maddie’s success. I’m sure if Abby has any kind of business about her she has Maddie tied up in an iron clad mgmt deal.Maddie is after all her bread and butter at the moment. Having a girl with natural talent for dancing does not make her a great teacher. If all the girls were placing 1st like Maddie then I might think it was Abby’s great training skills or at least the fact that she was giving them equal attention. If she wasn’t so dumb she’d realize how much she could capitalize if all the girls were doing more as their mgr.

No rest for the weary or the wicked….choices, choices. I was wicked, presently weary, but I so want the wicked back. My favorite sayings from my Mamaw were “no rest for the wicked and the weary” and “what’s born and bred in the bone, can’t be beat out or prayed out”

Well, I got to give credit to Abby, for making Maddie a star. Because of the exposure from the show, and her raw talent, Maddie achieved the fame & success she deserved. The other mothers…who cares? They have gained their own notoriety as the mothers who let their daughters be mentally & emotionally abused by Abby. At this point, the other girls are well known, the door is open, and the opportunity is there. So happy for Maddie.

I have nothing against the girl, tho her mother makes me want to bitch slap that smirk off her face. I do, however feel there are many many other girls that are just as ‘right’ for some of these gigs that only Maddie is getting. They will push her like so many other stars and flood the media with Maddie hype (ala Hannah Montana days) and instead of several young girls getting a good start at ‘fame’, just one kid will be getting it all again.

So – Dance Moms question – last season Abby was hyping the idea that the ALDC would be MOVING to LA. This season, as we watch Abby personally implode while Maddy professionally explodes, Abby’s talk has shifted from MOVING to LA to VISITING LA to seek opportunities and that she has always planned to go back to Pittsburgh. Change is script or did Abby just not want to big a little fish in a big pond? Aubrey O’Day’s diss in the last episode was pretty bad. And somehow I suspect Maddie’s successes lay more in the LIfetime connections and not Abby’s.

I haven’t seen the last episode of DM yet… I am so far behind on the blog and life and just stuff…

But I found it odd there was no studio when they got there. I thought she was building one. All of Abby’s dreams seem to be crashing down…

This weeks episode is worth the watch. It is definitely evident the ‘manager’ title is being thrown around without much grounds. Holly threw the towel in on Abby and nothing happened.

I’m so happy for Maddie. She will do great. Great actress and dancer. The other kids need to get a clue get a real manager. I always liked Abby but she is in over her head in L.A.

All I know about Sia is the one song and that she wants to avoid being a celebrity by hiding her face with the wigs. Does it seem odd to anyone that she’s chosen Maddie who already has fame from being on a reality show?

I wish Maddie all the success in the world, but from what I’ve seen over the last couple of years, she’s becoming less humble and less sweet and ii don’t know if its from all the pressure or she’s entering that snotty teen stage but I’ve seen a mean side to Maddie that isn’t flattering at all. I only hope with all her coming success, she will find a way to stay grounded to what’s important. I think the Melissa/Abby combination influence is not having a good effect upon her and while she is disciplined and a hard worker herself…she’s a little girl being moulded and seemingly groomed for a shallow life. I see Mckenzies talent growing too…and think she’s a sweet kid.
