How Is Teresa Holding Up in Danbury Prison?

teresa-giudice-itw

Earlier I ran to the Publix to pick up a few items. Mostly, I went to get some corn meal for my garden soil. So naturally, I totally forgot the damn cornmeal. Fortunately I did remember to pick up TP which was the other pressing issue and some special treat dog food for the mutt. In the checkout line I saw this cover.  I swear these tabloids get more and more ridiculous. Are we supposed to think that is Teresa in prison? This is almost as bad as the Bruce Jenner cover on In Touch.

I didn’t have much time to peep at the story but a glancing look showed that they had clearly read Orange is The New Black. When Piper arrived at Danbury lots of ladies made sure to set her up with some essentials to hold her over until her first commissary.  She had people lined up to meet her when she arrived and is settling in well.  She is getting tons of fan mail and that could actually cause her some drama.

The bottom line is she works all day. Most everyone starts out in the kitchen. It’s one of the lowest jobs there.  There are lots of other jobs where you can get off the prison grounds during the day and those are the jobs people really want. Also, in reality, despite the rumors to the contrary, Teresa is not whipping up Skinny Italian recipes for her fellow felons.  She scrubbing pots and mopping floors making whatever is on the preset menu. Still, I have a feeling she likes the kitchen job more than most would.

This is what Teresa REALLY looks like with no makeup.
This is what Teresa REALLY looks like with no makeup.

Here’s another version of how things are going for Teresa at Danbury. I wouldn’t put much stock in any of these reports. But they are still fun to read!

NYDAILYNEWS:

Teresa Giudice has settled in to a comfortable routine inside Danbury Federal Prison, staying busy with a packed schedule of working in the clink kitchen and joining a TV watching club with fellow inmates, a source tells [email protected]

“She is watching ‘Empire’ and ‘Scandal’ with two other inmates,” says our insider, who adds that the jailed ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ star has a fairly lenient television watching schedule because she is on her best behavior. “She is also watching ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta.’ ”

Besides watching the tube in the common room with her new gal pals, Giudice has landed a job in the big house’s kitchen, whipping up some of her famous Italian specialties, among other things, with whatever ingredients she can find.

“She’s not in laundry (as had been incorrectly reported), she’s in the kitchen cooking,” says our source.

I cook with it a lot, cornbread or a quick hoe cake. But I was buying it for my garden to feed the worms I hope are getting ready to mate like crazy…

I compost with bokashi for two weeks, which kickstarts microbial action then, it can be buried directly in the garden soil. Check it out. I love this system compared to conventional composting.

Fellow gardener here, thanks for that tip. I love green gardening and regularly amend my soil by “feeding” it crushed eggshells (for calcium, rinse first), spent coffee grounds (acidic, for ph) and bunny poop! In short, anything organic rots and that feeds the worms who aerate the soil and make it “good.” Works great! I’ll have to try the cornmeal. Do you grow edibles or ornamentals?

I hope it’s true that she’s in the kitchen. They should benefit from the inmates skills. And how much fun would it be to watch Real Housewives with one of them! I’m surprised the TV club isn’t packed to capacity!
It seems like all the stories out about her (fake or not) are happy ones. Which is nice because Gia definitely reads the tabloids.

Again, she is definitely in the kitchen. She is not cooking her own dishes. She is cooking whatever she is told, and more than like just doing prep work for the veteran cooks, peeling carrots and tomatoes, washing pots, etc.

God, do you guys think Marta Stewart redecorated when she went in? It’s PRISON. Just because you wrote a dumb cookbook you don’t get to whip up your recipes in the kitchen.

I’m trying to picture a worm feeding frenzy. Do they really eat corn meal? Do you sprinkle it on top of the. Soil or work it in? Also how much per sq ft. I’m serious. I bought worms for the garden last year and didn’t know I had to feed them.

You don’t have to feed them. I usually have a good many that show up. But last year my soil had a lot of problems. I’ve been fiddling with my tiny little plot all winter letting manure mellow. The corn meal should attract whatever is around… I googles how much per square foot but I didn’t pay it much attention and I’ve already forgotten. You don’t want to put out much at a time. I scratched it in so it would not blow away. It’s going to be super cold again for a couple days the next warm day I’m off to buy some organic fancy pants potting soil. I’ve just sort of put down a new layer of something every few weeks. I do not want a repeat of last year. After I plant, I’m going to cover with Cyprus shavings to try to keep spores from splashing up when it rains and causing blight.

Yes. I am obsessed with my little patch of dirt. This will end once it’s hot and they plants need watering. lol.

stupid question but so you just sprinkle the cornmeal or mix into dirt. And do you addextra worms or just nature let it do its thing. I am completely lacking in the garden dept short of picking acres of cap every summer for my father in law. I have been wanting to try a small garden this year and have no idea where to start. My father in law harvest (is that what it is called? ) worms for the grandkids to fish in the pond every year with.

I haven’t been able to find worms for sale around me. I would if I could the more the merrier. worms are your friends. Just try a couple tomato plants a pepper plant or two and some parsley, oregano, basil, (you can plant the herbs in pots.) I have hit and miss luck with herbs.

Truth be told it’s much cheaper to go to whole foods and buy the most expensive organic veggies they have than futz around with your garden. But nothing tastes as good as what you grow yourself. Sorry I didn’t mean to overshadow the post with gardening.

Once the planting season gets closer, I might start a gardening post and we can bookmark it and chat all season. 🙂

At home we have rosebushes, gardenias, jasmine, Spanish lavender, fig tree, olive tree, pomegranate tree, citrus trees, rosemary, dill and basil. We try tomatoes, green beans and peppers seasonally. I want to grow a lot of edibles this year – you are right Tamara, nothing tastes quite like homegrown food. This year I’d love to grow hydrangeas (they always die) and peonies (I have 2 but they never bloom or get tall.) I am in the South, my zone is 9B. Whoo! So instead they get to forage through my greenhouse gardens, I toss their food in the soil and they turn it all and poop in it and turn it some more.. And in the spring I have the darkest fluffliest enriched soil to die for and I didnt have to do a thing! 🙂 !

But you see that’s a different situation altogether. I don’t think Tre KNEW she was committing felonies, and I think if she was a total unknown, like me, she wouldn’t have gotten such a harsh sentence. Her husband should have had to serve her penalty too IMO, because he duped her. I’m aware this is not the prevailing sentiment here-or anywhere! LOL-but hey, what can I do, I like the lady and I hope she gets out early so she can be with her daughters while Joe’s in the pen. Away I mean.

Really?? The Gov of VA only got 2 years for fraud. He deceived and lied to the people of his state. His lawyer asked for leniency; hopefully, probation. The prosecutor asked for ten (10) years and the Judge only gave him 2 years. And he’ll only serve 85% of it. Now that’s “one hell of a break”…….

Really? You think failure to declare some gifts while in office is the same as 41 counts of fucking fraud? WTF is wrong with you?

          You story is way off.

Prosecutors accused former Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and his wife, Maureen, of accepting more than $165,000 in gifts and loans from wealthy businessman Jonnie Williams. The then-chief executive of Virginia-based public company Star Scientific was hoping for the governor’s endorsement for and state research on one of his company’s dietary supplements, Anatabloc, to help boost sales.

A federal grand jury indicted the couple, both 60 at the time of the trial, on 14 counts of corruption, accepting bribes and obstructing an investigation in January, 10 days after Bob McDonnell left office.

They took $165K in gifts committed 14 felonies as opposed to FORTY ONE and got twice the time Teresa did. Sit your ass down.

Or are they the same banks that received a bail out from the government? Im no Trehugger but I was rooting for her against the likes of Melissa and Jacqueline. I do remember from the day I started watching season 1 there was speculation as to how she got her money. Everyone suggested min affiliations so I’m glad that was cleared up. I’m not with cammierari on the slap on the wrist but I’ve wondered the same thing myself, what about the bank officials that approved the loans? Or are they the same banks that received a bail out from the government? Im no Trehugger but I was rooting for her against the likes of Melissa and Jacqueline. I do remember from the day I started watching season 1 there was speculation as to how she got her money. Everyone suggested mob affiliations so I’m glad that was cleared up. They just cashed their mortgage loan checks.

Totally agree Angel(?)! These women must have a low understanding about what a “good mother is”, or what is required for a quality life. They are not worthy of attention or adoration. I wonder about the intelligence or maturity of their “fans”. God, how embarrassing to be a fan of either one!

Tre is nothing like Brandi, but I am a Tre-hugger because I don’t agree she’s a vile low life. I think I have a pretty good understanding of what being a good mother is too having raised two wonderful, successful children. I think Teresa will come out stronger and so will her family because she will learn from her mistakes. I’m a fan of that and of her positive attitude.

Ok – keep up with that positive thinking! I stand by my statement. 41 felonies equals low life. Her actions towards others and lack of remorse equals vile. She took out loans under false pretenses. She signed those papers and I am sure she knows how to read. I am convinced that Joe didn’t hold a gun to her head and said sign or else. Brandi is vile and a low life for other reasons, but she’s not a convicted felon scrubbing potatoes in the kitchen of a prison.

I have parallel feelings. I too have a very good understanding of what it is to be a good mother and raise two young sons on my own. Their father lured them with new cars, toys, money, etc., but neither son chose to live with him despite all the lure in front of them. My oldest son is the antithesis of his father; not because I told them he was a ‘bad’ person, but because I lived the life that i taught them to live. I worked full-time, tutored students when I got home, did two carpools in the morning to assure each of my children (6 years apart) would have a ride home each day before I got home.

What “positive attitude?” She has a nasty attitude. Do you forget how she turned up her nose at “living in used houses?” That’s positive? Was it positive when she gleefully provoked and then chased Danielle out of a high-class establishment, like a high school mean girl? Was it positive when she lost her shit and flipped a table using trucker language? Sorry, there is nothing positive about her “attitude.”

Disqus-Tre said repeatedly that she was ashamed of her table flipping and had never done anything like it before. Bravo-and the public-would never let her forget it. She used it to her advantage. She also has said she was wrong to do that to Danielle, and has apologized directly to her. She admits to sounding snobby when she made the “used houses” crack. She’s real. Not perfect.
She’s doing her time. I wish her well.

But I would have loved to see life inside for Teresa and others. Especially if she was not allowed to profit but all proceeds went back to the people she stole from.

McDonnell was voted into office by the constituents of his state. He has a fiduciary duty to all the people in the state. I know the story, TT. I don’t need a history lesson on what transpired, but gee, thanks anyway. He did much more than take $165,000 and 14 counts is a helluva lot for Gov. of any state. He took loans, bribes, private planes, free trips, and on and on.

I don’t deny Teresa was wrong, but they made an example of her and Joe. Many of the counts were duplications and some were past the statute of limitations. How different is Bernie Kerik, the Manzo’s best friends who pleaded down to 8 charges as the former NY City Police commissioner including tax fraud, criminal conspiracy, and lying under oath.

Not everyone wins the intellectual gene pool and to call them stupid is what I find most vile. So, she’s not that smart. So what. Bernie Kerik knew exactly what he was doing and his time in jail was short compared to the number and types of felonies he committed. Guiliani, another lying politician saved Kerik’s ass. The Manzo’s are mob connected and it’s been documented in a documentary film and in writing. Al Manzo and his big fat daddy who was found naked and dead in the trunk of a car are most probably guilty of more offensive criminal behavior than anything Tre and Joe committed.

You’re an idiot. You might want to learn about what the Giudices actually did. Nothing was beyond the statute of limitations. They took a plea deal down to … oh never mind. I am not going to give you a remedial course on something we have been discussing here for years.

      Just have a seat.

TT, you lose any leverage you think you have when you argue with people by calling them names rather than disputing the facts you deem false. I don’t need a remedial lesson. I’m a very educated person with the ability to understand the contents of any and alI of the legal documents concerning the charges against the Giudices and I have.

You are also a very educated, highly-intelligent person or you wouldn’t be able to produce this very detailed, accurate blog on your posts. If you didn’t, I wouldn’t come here to read your blog posts. I usually don’t comment because when I do, and you disagree with my comments, which you most often do, I am barraged with insults of being a fucktard or cuntsicle or some of your other choice insults. It sounds like a grade school kid hurling insults at other kids in the class. ie. “you’re a poop” or “your mother is so fat” jokes made by little kids.

I get it. I don’t think Teresa should have been found innocent. She wasn’t/isn’t. My point is that if she goes to jail, then so should the bankers who processed and assisted the Guidice family to fraud the papers to obtain a first, second, refinanced mortgage, home equity lines, etc. It was a well-known documented fact that banks often provided w-2 forms to those applying for mortgages. They also awarded mortgages to people who didn’t have a rat’s ass chance of repaying the loan or even making timely mortgage payments. They were in collusion. The bank mortgage lenders then bundles up those junk mortgages and sold them to a third party.

Really? That’s what you got out of my post just because I’m not rooting for Tre to suffer daily? I just think it’s complete crap that the banks were happy to take the Giudices bogus collateral and paperwork because they benefit if it works out and the shit falls down on only the Giudices if it doesn’t. They’re accepting their punishment, but I guess that’s not enough for some people. It is for me.
