I used to like Rosie. Now i think she just comes across as an angry, bitter, loud person.

I have empathy for Rosie because she has struggled with many challenges publicly every since she was first discovered on Star Search back in the 80s. She has become defensive over the years because her critics feel free to attack her at anytime for any reason, which is difficult even for anyone with tough skin. She lost her mother to cancer as a child and she has never fully recovered from the shock. IMHO she is living with a hole in her heart which originated with the loss of her mother and a faulty support system. I sincerely hope she goes completely silent this time and quietly works on her projects privately without scrutiny from the public eye.

I like Rosie. If the View causes that much stress for her, it’s the best decision to leave. I like the Talk better than the View anyway.

I relate to Rosie a lot. We both stand up for our beliefs whether they are popular or not. A lot of times we get loud. It is only because we really care about what we are talking about. Sometimes that causes what we’re talking about to get lost in translation to other people because of the tone. But we are also very giving and do a lot for other people especially children in need and charities.

I don’t think she said the View was causing the most stress but that home is causing stress that she cannot control at this time, so she is cutting out the background noise and focusing on her family. I think that makes the most sense. You see many celebrities trying to cling to the fame instead of turning inward and dealing with what needs to be dealt with. Joan Rivers spoke about doing that when her husband passed and how it affected her daughter. Her daughter took Joan’s behaviour as she didn’t care that her husband died. Rosie is showing her children that they matter most and focusing on stabilizing them and herself.

Your health is your wealth, the sages say. So you have to always do what’s best in that context. But… Oh, Rosie, I so wanted this rumor not to be true. I like you. No, I love you! Independent-Thinkers are a rare find, especially in any mainstream vehicle. It won’t be the same without you there. Can you get your own show again? No? If so, I know why. Research…Clue: His first name begins with a J and ends with an N. His last name, begins with an M & ends with an..oh, you know the rest. Thanks to he among others, I [may] know the real truth as to why you just threw the proverbial hat in! Again! Your sincere efforts weren’t lost on some of us. Thanks. Be well. 🙂

P.S. Will take that google tip you offered in the video here.

Good. She did survive the type of heart attack that usually kills people so she’s not just using stress as an excuse. I really enjoy her on TV when she’s Happy Rosie. I only found out about her short lived show on OWN right before it was cancelled. I forget what she did in the beginning but the second half was her telling a long, fantastic story. She is one of the best storytellers out there. I could listen to her all day! I wish I could have enjoyed her return to The View but, it’s too much of a mess for me. I can’t wait to see what she does next!

So many entertainers I love ruin our (albeit one-sided) relationship with fiercely outspoken political views. I have mine and I’m pretty middle of the road, but I get frustrated when people in the entertainment industry feel like because they are funny, or talented, that their political views are superior. Good luck to Rosie, though. I think she and Whoopi had a lot of conflict.

      Totally agree.
In addition her health & being there for her kids is more important than the reported millions she’s walking away from. Good for Rosie.

I’m still not sold that she is leaving voluntarily. I watched today and there was a lot of fake professionalism between Whoopi and Rosie. If The View had to choose between the two, they made the wrong choice.

I wonder if Rosie asked for changes to the show (eg: settle Whoopie down) and the producers said no, so she said, see ya. I wonder if Whoopie’s increasingly hostile, inappropriate, over-reacting behavior is a result of her old drug addiction resurfacing. If she has been taking meds for her back, I suspect they are not aspirin. She has spoken A LOT about her addiction issues and I believe she still smokes pot. We may be witnessing a slowly spirally addict as opposed to an attention seeking, grouchy, chaos creator who we think is doing it for no reason other than self-importance.

i can see her reasoning very well. whoopi would make an argument out of nothing all. the. time. at a pitch that was nearly yelling. rosie would say something, then whoopi had to say something else– unreasonable and disputatious, and irrespective of it making any sense at all. in one week alone, i recall, the topic was ‘what was considered torture’, and rosie said some pictures had been released by and from the US Gov, with more expecting to come, and whoopi yelled “HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF PHOTOSHOP” WTFup?? just stupid shit that seemed to be intentionally started up with rosie for NO reason. that same week whoopi went in on rosie again with racism, at the top of her lungs shouting “YOU CAN’T UNDERSTAND RACISM UNLESS YOU’RE BLACK!” over and over. just because rosie ‘o took the opinion AGAINST racism and got applause. on that panel was Laverne Cox and Rosie Perez, and they ALL looked at whoopi like WTF are you saying idiot ?!? i watched that show everyday and i saw what was going on– the jealousy was coming from whoopi, who used to be the fan favorite. going back as far as the first week of the new cast, whoopi made it a contest. look back and see that while the opening music played, whoopi (with her bad back and all) would be so petty as to hold out SITTING DOWN until rosie ;o did ! i noticed that right away thinking it was a fluke, but nope. it happened every damn day.
whoopi is the stress. hayl, she’s been stressing ME out, and i’m at home in my housecoat. i haven’t watched the show since i read here, TT, that rosie o’ is leaving. **sorry for the loooong post

her pink glasses are adorable. she really seems in control and has her priorities straight. I wish she would go back to the ballerina, who really seemed good for her. she comes off really well in this video. whoopi is just patronizing to women in general. they need to let her run the mob wives and basketball wives reunions instead of having her be umpire for intelligent women who can control themselves. there is a place for people like whoopi and it isn’t the view. not that I care as I don’t watch it but she’s dead to me after casting doubt on cosby’s accusers, etc.
